Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Omicron replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
They can still make the characters in sets. And I wasn't talking about TDKR Bane either. I'm talking regular Bane. Minimates and HeroClix sell sets too for their figures. And Minimates originally started with just Marvel/DC and still made bank with sets. Ummmmm? Aquaman? Nova? The Beetle? Iron Fist? -Omi -
More like Nickelodeon went to Michael Bay personally about it. They aren't stuck in it if they wanted it that way. -Omi

X-Men, Fantastic Four, Punisher, Daredevil, Black Panther, Moon Knight. And spare me the kid friendly stuff. Lego made Bane and Joker. And yet their competitors like Minimates, HeroClix, and Megablocks were able to make serious bank by being able to "theoretically" do anything. -Omi -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

Lego doesn't need shows to pull from. They have a massive amount of sources to pull from. Star Wars movies aren't in theaters and we are still seeing sets based on all the movies. You're not getting the point. Batman had a few costume changes too. Still doesn't change the fact that he is Batman. Lego can do more than just Cap, Thor, and Iron Man is what I am saying. Just like we had Batman for years, we are getting the same treatment with Marvel with Cap, Iron Man, and Thor. Lego doesn't need movies or shows. -Omi -

That still doesn't change the fact that it is still Cap, Thor, and Iron Man. They are the Batman of Marvel sets. -Omi -

It's still Cap, Iron Man and Thor (and Spider-Man). There are other things to Marvel besides them. It's great that Doom came in a Spidey set, but I would have preferred him to be in a FF set instead. And DC needs to stop having Batman carry them too. -Omi -

Yeah new material, but when you really think about it, it really isn't new. Woohoo more Iron Man, Captain America and Thor. I didn't get enough of that with the Avengers sets. Maybe new movies, but it's still the same stuff. -Omi -
No they wouldn't. You see, Nickelodeon owns all future distribution of TMNT. This includes future shows and movies. The Michael Bay movie would by owned by Nick. -Omi

For Gleek's tail, you can use a dremel (and the standard bit they come with should suffice). However I have a better and less messy approach. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Omicron/BrickForge/tail2.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/chocobricks_customs/5147089332/in/set-72157623164204617 I used a Brickforge utility belt with the stud buckle on the back and the tail inserted in. I suggest using the yellow one. -Omi

We went from Bat Nipples to Super Dick. -Omi -
All chrome baby. :P The face has stickers for the face for now. I'm going to have the face engraved in eventually. I just got other things planned so it's on the bottom of to-do list. -Omi

Not all of them were. Both Joker figs were based on the comics. Only Mr. Freeze (first one), Harley (obviously) and Two Face (first one) were. The Riddler comes from the old comics and the 60's show, Bane is comics, Croc is comics, Penguin is comics, new Two Face is comics, etc. The Joker figs do not even share the same face from the BTAS Joker, nor have his darker green hair. -Omi

The pros and cons of being an exhibitor
Omicron replied to ShaydDeGrai's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Actually theft at Brickfair has always been known to be done by registered attendees during non-expo hours. Stanchions do nothing to prevent that. And it is always a popular fig and/or expensive one. It sucks but it happens. -Omi -

Nice to see a fellow Mass citizen customizing. :P Since Bricklink and brasso were already brought up, I figured I'd introduce you to custom vendors to expand on your customs. http://www.arealight...m/shop/home.php http://www.brickforge.com/store/ http://brickwarriors.com/Shop.aspx http://www.brickarms.../resellers.aspx If you need anymore advice, just drop me a message. -Omi

And Lego hands don't look very much like hands. -Omi

Well I think the real question regarding this issue is if you're in the business of toymaking, why not make your "short legs" moving? Gotta give more credit to the custom world for accomplishing yet another feat that Lego apparently says they can't do. -Omi

The random blue bits, I believe, were meant to be how the light reflected off the Bat. It does give off a blue hue in the movie. -Omi -
Stikfas stickers. :) Bit cartoony, but gets the job done. -Omi

The Juggernaut from the X-Men series. I wanted to make him with the dome helmet like he is in the comics and cartoon. Enjoy! -Omi

Angel as he appears in the X-Men series. Based on his red suit. He was one of the founding members of X-Men, and became the Horseman of Death for Apocalypse and later became Archangel. Enjoy. -Omi
