Peppermint_M replied to SAGE's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Awwwwweeeesome! (Pretty please build a King Liger?) I absolutely love Zoids, I caught the tail end of the Zoids 2 (UK) after dad got one cheap. Then the anime tie-in kits were nice and easy to get when I had a little money. Those are fantastic MOCs from you and your friend. Also: Bleh Beast Wars, Zoids came first! -
What was the last movie you watched?
Peppermint_M replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Man of Steel Oh, it was fantastic. Took mum, she loved it too, we were edge of our seat at some points. -
What concerts have you been to?
Peppermint_M replied to RaincloudDustbin's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Ooo. So, Noise and Confusion (Foo Fighters Oasis, The Subways and some forgettables) Um... Avril Lavigne when supported by Simple Plan Simple Plan and MC Lars 30 Seconds to Mars (twice in one year baby!) I fogot their first support act but the other was Enter Shikari Lacuna Coil and Dommin (plus Dirty Little Rabbits) got Dommin's autographs that time. Uh, Video Games Live My Chemical Romance and The Blackout Everclear and a host of pointless bands. Next plans are: Turn up in Cardiff to try and get into Bastille at the Student's Union. 30 Seconds to Mars again and Gloryhammer in Bristol. -
Its a problem? I've never thought it was problematic to move around different building themes, from TLG started to fan-made, media related or just something that popped into my head. I MOC anything I fancy, at the moment I have a few mocs on the go sat between completed things. From Fabuland buildings to SF themed war-mecha. Then again, my collection is as varied as my tastes so I have a parts pool that can stretch over any little idea that takes my fancy.

Well, I think it is best to let the old topic lie, I am a huge fan of told-you-so but not that smug... They had me at Morgan Freeman, then the trailer went and had an awesome remix of THE GREATEST TRACK EVER so I was sold. I do want tie in sets though, like yesterday...

Heroica RPG- Quest #68: A Night at the Theatre
Peppermint_M replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Well, time to hit you down again ROUS boy." -
Yes, that is because Character only launched their bricks with Doctor Who sets. The company produce action figures from a large number of UK media properties and HM Armed Forces. The Doctor Who building sets were their first foray into building bricks and figures. Now many of their other properties are appearing in building sets.

"So, who's going to revive Atramor? I think Fàelàn and I should take care of the Rodent of Unusual Size." -
See, I play Heroica while listening to things like this:

Heroica RPG- Quest #68: A Night at the Theatre
Peppermint_M replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
It was odd, she had not been hit at all and yet her energy, her power was draining away. Cysgodion howled in her mind, enraged at the magical attack. The revival spell worked away and Tesni stood. The enemies would take real damage from the alchemical bomb in her pack. She prepared to throw the Gaia Bomb after the others attacked. -

Sometimes they have to be moderated. That takes aaaages. -
My mini TARDIS is excellent. The accesories are well tooled and very nice, the plastic is good quality. It's popular because it is what kids want, it's no real big deal in all honesty.

"Alrighty then. Rodent of Unusual Size, prepare to die." The flaming blade swept down at the beastly rat. -
Heroica RPG- Quest #68: A Night at the Theatre
Peppermint_M replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
So, who do I kill? In the presence of such enemies Tesni's weapons spoke out to be used. Dryw lit with holy light, fighting the purple glow of Cysgodion. Mellt iced over and crackled with electricity, the flames of Fàelàn not affecting the unnatural ice in the slightest. So many enemies and each weapon well suited to something. The elemental glow was a sight to behold, certainly intimidating. (I hope maybe?) -

Tesni shrugged. "My part ended a while back. Though, sorry to suggest this. Ellaria would be our duke wouldn't she?" Tesni turned to the druid, a conflicted expression on her face. "We'll have to cast you out At least there are no ghosty daggers about..." -

Peppermint_M replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Eh, misjudged that one." Tesni shrugged, "My traditions had it that we simply climbed on ever higher and left all the trash in the world below.... So, haunting around to try and keep a reputation no one cares about? I don't know about you others, but I am not going to follow a script. We could just remove this ghost and end the farce." -
You know, one thing the base could have had is a tiny Underground station and train! It is an excellent build.

Finished! It was pretty much the same as last time, wasn't it?

Peppermint_M replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Magic..." Tesni grumped and looked over at the possessed thespians. "Ok, so you are here to fix it, can't be much fun. We came here to kill rats, or at least it is what I signed on for." She chuckled ruefully, "Nothing ends up easy... So, I guess we are here to end a curse. You want that?" -
Chadmin. Are you something to do with this "YCF" because all 46 posts are videos for them... I think this needs investigation.

What sites do you use to buy LEGO?
Peppermint_M replied to Grazingcattle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, for specific parts BL is the best. Bulk lots often work out cheaper on eBay. I'd say old sets and Bulk Lots head to eBay and fiddly bits from BL. -
Well, his area of expertise is nowhere near any sort of education or position to have notability for this subject. It sounds like the sort of idea that came from drinking night with educated people (I mean, me and my friend come up with some random stuff after a few pints. The best was Doctor Who Chess and Monopoly...) and then they ran with it. Credits on a published paper are useful to have after all! Sensationalism really, the papers love something that makes some beloved childhood thing seem bad. On one hand to scoff at it (like we are doing) and on the other end to wring their hands and wail "Somebady think of the children!". None of them ever report the methodology used and the basic man-on-the-street can't wrap their head around it anyway. You can see above what I thought of the research... It'll run it's course. Though my boring moments on a sunday afternoon may be taken up collating all the minifig faces and figuring some results.
