  1. And a late follow up from me I just tried the connection, and it is a very tight/hard fit to put a 2x2 plate etc on the barell. On the other hand a round brick one of any kind (plate, tile, other barell...) will flex more (because it doesn't have "closed walls") and thus the fit is more "forgiving". So I'd say that a 2x2 plate (etc...) is indeed illegal, and we probably won't see it in any official set. But this is just my guess.
  2. Yeah, I missed it too (i.e. I need to update LDD Manager it seems )
  3. I checked this out with TLG Customer Service, and it turns out LDD has the correct numbers.
  4. the 3300014 LXF contains a lot of extra loose parts in the scene. Should they be removed?
  5. Interesting finds Gnac, specially the second one.
  6. Part numbers, part numbers, part numbers
  7. Did you know that EB has one of the largest indexes/libraries of official LEGO sets made in Ldraw? Today the index, managed by legolijntje, is celebrating its second birthday. Huuraay. Click here to check it out.
  8. In that case, I think you made the right decision to leave it to the side
  9. I actually got the red brick to fit. Just pick it up, and place it, and it will snap. Normally it's an illegal build, but sometimes you can make it snap in LDD; and this is such a case.
  10. This is a tricky one in terms of illegal technique. From what I have learned it is not an illegal technique in the respect that there is constant compression on any part of the elemenets (the flanges of the 2458 fits inside the cavity of 4733). On the other hand it is not a "designed" connection, but a loose one, and therefore not supported in LDD. I'm not sure what to think myself of this one.
  11. That was a nice workaround (In the meantime I reported the initial bug to TLG).
  12. Question. are you supposed to be able to connect a 2x2 plate ontop of the barell IRL (i.e. is it used in any official set or so)? Like legolijntje said - it's an illegal design, because the ridges on the pegs (not visible in LDD, but have a look on a real peg) would cause the peg to be in constant compression. This in turn would cause plastic deformation (aka cold flow) that over time would ruin the peg (it would become loose and less "snappy").
  13. New version added today, 1.11. Only "news" is that it is updated to fully support brickset 835.4 and that all BrickLink data is update as well. If you allready have LDD Manager installed, you will get an automatic notification next time you start it. If you want to manually download anyway, do it here
  14. You're right. It's not called Brickset anymore (Looking in the Help>About). Now it's only called "Brick Version" (with spaces in between) so I guess they removed the "set". I wonder why?
  15. That seems like a bug. I'll report it.
  16. Long awaited brick spotted: 2493
  17. I'd say that it's an illegal build from TLG, because the buckets walls are tapered and intersect with the wall element.
  18. Hi guys Just to let you know that legolijntje has been promoted to Regulator as of today. As before, he'll keep an eye out for any Ldraw related stuff. Glad to have you aboard
  19. I personally always design so it can be built IRL. And since I'm a bit of purist, I tend to want to stick to legal methods (which is why I love LDD - it won't let me do anything fishy ). Normally, I have to do a few test builds IRL to see that it works, specially in tricky areas. But I guess you learn after a while to get a "feel" for the clutch power of various techniques.
  20. Excellent job darkdragon
  21. I managed to fix this. See attached file and copy what you need. Amazing that this bug has not been found before. Good catch. Good find Good find on 6141 Collision errors is known and is a serious illegal design from TLG. I can't seem to find these errors. Can you explain a bit more? naboo_starfighter_fix.lxf
