  1. It looks beautiful! I'm definitely going to have to pick up at least 1 of these myself.
  2. Very nice, as usual. I really like the oval forestmen's shield. I can't believe how many quality MOCs you turn out so quickly.
  3. I really like it. It looks like's it's on such a busy street.. Very Albionish.
  4. I'm just pumped to get long blonde elven hair. The more pointy ear hair pieces the better!
  5. It took me about 2 weeks to get a design I liked. Went through many iterations. I knew what I wanted but I couldn't get a look I liked. I'm very pleased with it now. Just power through it.
  6. I would say that the size of Avalonia will help and hurt. While there are more builders, and the theoretically there will be more high quality builds, the fact that each guild advances 5 entries will in turn hurt Avalonia because they will be limited to the same number as a guild with half the builds. While I could see this leading to a marginally higher quality of build in the top 5, it obviously didn't help in the Tower challenge where we only had 1 top tower. It is a double edged sword in this format. I personally wouldn't mind if the guild leaders continued to select all the MOCs, but it sounds like they may not want to do it themselves. It's really their call. Either way I'm fine
  7. BTW, I love the history DaMaximus. Thanks for posting it all in one place. I would love to see this expanded on by the different guilds
  8. I had been merely joking, but I am fully willing to accept the challenge 1.) Another definition for Nocturnal is noun. an astronomical instrument for finding the hour by night. - This could be loosely (very loosely) interpreted as someone who can navigate the lands of Nocturnus, hence a resident. 2.) If Nocturnal is an adjective, than Nocturnus would also be an adjective, correct? And if you can name a land an adjective, you can also, by the precedent set, use an adjective to name a resident of the land as well. 3.) The name Nocturnus could be taken from another word - Nocturne noun. a night scene - If this were the root of Nocturnus, than the word Nocturnal could be a noun, just as hymnal is a noun from the noun hymn. 9. I always find something I was missing after the fact. The $150 really didn't add much size to the MOC, it was mostly just to get the right color for pieces I already had. I definitely needed the full 48x48, but remember it's not the size that matters, it's how you build it.
  10. This is a really nice MOC! I love the hangar, it really makes the MOC stand out. I agree that all the red-brown cloth really makes it feel Mos-Eye catching. Great work!
  11. Thanks for the review Mutley! I've been waiting for the BP ever since the Rebel Trooper battlepacks came out. This is a godsend for us OT army builders. I agree that you can never have enough Stormies or Scouties. Bring em on!
  12. Just got my D prize today! Dengar!! Woohoo!! This was an Awesome Raffle. Thanks CopMike and everyone else that helped out. What a great gift for the new year. Thanks!
  13. I don't know if you're looking for inter-guild feedback, but did you consider for the small 6x6 tower using either 3x3 faceted bricks, 3x3x6 castle wall panels or 3x6x6 cylinders instead of the bricks? I like round towers, but that's just me. It looks collossal! Can't wait to see it in real life! I dropped $150 on my Embassy about 10 days ago, and I've only got 2 Bricklink orders yet that I'm waiting on (Of course I've already found a few things I'm still going to order Dangnabit! )
  14. Wouldn't you guys call yourselves "Nocturnals"?
  15. There is some discussion going on in the Kaliphin thread about the selection process for challenges.
  16. Correct, you could use all 5 votes for your guild, but the top 3 MOCs would be selected from each guild, so even if one guild has twice as many members as another guild, and it's MOCs get twice as many votes (hypothetically), both guilds would have the same number of entries (3) advance to the final round. Then the guild leader would add two more MOCs of their choice. The guild leaders would also get 5 votes in the initial member voting (or maybe even 10.) The one thing I'm not sure about is if the results of who voted for who would be public afterwards. It is nice to see who votes for what, but I'm not sure if that would be doable with the poll system. (unless the guild leaders went back through and posted everything by hand, which would defeat the purpose of using the poll system in the first place)
  17. This is a wonderful MOC! I love the rug and all the little details like the ostrich head and the parka hoods. This totally catches the New Year's spirit!
  18. I think the escort carrier is perfect. I knew exactly what it was as soon as I saw it. Of course I played Star Wars Rebellion, and I've used the reference sheet that comes with the game for my Star Wars RPG. This is beautiful work! I have long been an opponent of Midi's and Minis, but I think there is a lot of potential for things like this that are on such a massively larger scale. Great job!
  19. I really like this - It looks just like you would expect to see in a Yavin IV playset. I would love to see LEGO come out with something like this.
  20. Looks just like your on the bridge of the executor! When you will be building the rest of the ship?
  21. This is an AWESOME Video Niku!! Nice job. I Love it!
  22. It does not matter to me which way the selection process goes. I wouldn't mind seeing a hybrid voting model Members pick 3 MOCs and Guild Leaders pick 2 MOCs Each member would get 5 votes they would assign to 5 different MOCs (I know this is normally 3, but I could have voted for 10 towers last round easily!) - You cannot assign more than one vote to any MOC - You cannot vote for your own MOC - You must be a member, with a sigfig/army pic to vote (some proof that you're actually participating) The top 3 MOCs from each guild would make it to the final round Guild Leaders would pick 2 additional MOCs from their guild to advance to the final round AFTER the member voting is complete The guild leaders would then select the top MOC(s) as they see fit. It would be nice to give a set week of time for members to vote, say Feb 16-22nd for the Embassy challenge. If there could be a post setup just like the polling posts are, so that you could select 5 towers off that page, that would probably be easier for the Guild Leaders to calculate, instead of just posting written choices. I don't know how feasible it would be. That's my idea.
  23. I picked up a $5.00 friends set with some TRU cash (so it only cost me a dollar (It would have cost me at least a couple of bucks on Bricklink, so I came out ahead ) and I gotta say, I was disappointed with the hairpiece. I don't want all my female figs to have "big hair" so I guess I'll be passing on these unless I decide to do a retro MOC someday. (I doubt I will) It was definitely worth the dollar to find out, so I can just ignore all those friends sets.
  24. I had seen this tower in your signature, and thought "he must have built this before the contest, because it would have definitely been in competition for the top 6" and lo and behold, it is in the top 6 (7). This is a beautiful tower, I can't believe I didn't comment on it earlier. I love the way it spirals around to the top, and it is a very clean MOC as well. It took me 3 or 4 pages to find this, so I figure this post will also bring it back to the first page. Congratulations on winning with this beauty!
  25. Amazing as usual. I love everything about it. I like the new border (maybe I haven't noticed it before) you've been using on the bottom of your MOCs. You and Z always have professional looking borders on your MOC that just make them pop. I'm going to have to come up with my own. Whenever I create oddly shaped structures, I build them first without any inner workings to see how it looks, then I take it apart and rebuild it as almost a completely solid structure. The inner support is integral for my embassy.
