Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Jay_Em replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah the $20 sets have almost all been excellent. That includes DC as well. I agree that Ant Man may well be the best one yet- 3 seemingly awesome minifigures, giant Lego bricks, and what looks like a pretty good ant. Long may it continue! I'm not sure how they'll do Doctor Strange sets given the November release date, but I'd probably be content with just one $20 set featuring Strange, the main villain, and another main character. I'm guessing Civil War will get an AoU type wave. Is that a suggestion or inside knowledge? Just noticed from the trailer that Vision's forehead gem is yellow, so it's a bit of a shame that the Lego one has it in blue. Still looks like a cracking minifigure. -

I do quite like the Hydra Showdown. Thor is finally in an inexpensive set, we have a good version of Hawkeye, and the vehicles at least have some good parts. Plus you get two so there's good playability. For the price I don't think you can complain too much. -

Yeah, I just can't justify £50 for the Hydra Fortress. Equivalent to $77 by the way. The Quinjet is many times better for just £20 more. -

Possibly, I do prefer how much interior space it has. Looks more the a transport craft than the new one, which is more of a fighter craft. Guess it reflects the film though. -

Hmm, it does look quite a bit smaller than the 2012 Quinjet. At least it will fit better on my shelf. The figures are better for sure. -

Awesome, thank you! The 2012 variants look rather plain in comparison. Though this has reminded me that I still need the Heartbreaker suit. Anyone ever tried the Alien Conquest scientist's hair on Thor? It's darker and might look a bit better. -

Money is tight so I'll probably wait until Iron Man vs Ultron is reduced to around £8 and buy 3 for £24. That's 9 Ultrons and 3 Iron Men for customisation. -
Haha, fantastic!

Hydra Fortress at £50 is silly money Otherwise the prices are reasonable. Would be nice if the Quinjet was £60 as rumoured but £70 is still fair. Of course the US still gets a much better deal. To top it all off they'll get Winter Soldier for $75 while we have to fork out £270 on a set of questionable quality. -

I asked someone to do the former yesterday and they said they'd try, hopefully they'll be able to post pictures soon. -

So, which sets are people planning on getting? For me the Quinjet is a must, for both the model and the figures, I'll probably get the Hulkbuster because I don't have a Hulk yet and it looks a very good set for the price, and the Hydra Showdown as well, mainly for Thor and Hawkeye which I don't have yet either. The only Avenger missing then will be Quicksilver, and as I don't think the Hydra Fortress is worth it for the price I'll eBay him at some point I guess. That's £120, but hopefully closer to £100 with some good discounts. I like how the Avengers aren't spread across every set; you only need to buy three to get 90% of them. -

Anyone have a picture of all the Iron Man variants lined up together? I reckon we must have 6 now, plus Iron Patriot, War Machine and the Iron Legions figures. Would be interesting to see how they develop. -

Any word on the UK price for the Hydra Fortress? Also, Quinjet is in stock on amazon.co.uk, and can be delivered as quickly as tomorrow. -

Yeah, not worth it for me, considering he'll almost certainly be available in a Civil War set (right?). -

Vision, Black Widow and Cap all look perfect to me. They're also all in the Quinjet. Wonder which set I'll be getting... -

Hard to say without seeing the film. I think the Tower Ultron is the original, the Hulkbuster Ultron is an advanced version, and Quinjet one is closest to his final form- just going on the trailer footage. The ones in Iron Man vs Ultron are his drones I expect. -

The more I think about the Sandman set, the more I think Iron Spider is the only bit I actually want. The build is nothing special, Rhino is nothing we couldn't make ourselves, Sandman is a bit underwhelming, and I have quite enough Spidermen now, though the leg moulding is quite nice. Might just eBay Iron Spider and save £35. Or wait for a big sale. -

Quicksilvers legs in the film shots have pretty subtle colour differences, so I'm not sure a) whether Lego would have even known about them and b) how Lego would have printed them without it standing out too much. In the set picture it just looks like dust from all the rubble, not obvious at a glance. Kevkipo likes it so it must be good :) -

I will be pretty annoyed if the US gets Winter Soldier with a $75 purchase, while UK and other regions have to fork out £270 on an overpriced set for it. -

Having seen the new Star Wars book with Proto Fett, anyone think a Lego Marvel book is likely? Most other Licenses, including DC, have one, and Marvel must have enough material by now. Would be a good opportunity for Agent Coulson as well. -

I guess we know pretty much everything about the 2015 Marvel sets now, right? The AoU sets have all been reviewed, and the images we have of the 3 summer sets are pretty detailed. What do we talk about now? :P -

You're still missing the point, the set is marketed at 5 year olds who don't care about any dual-colour legs or how obvious Spiderman's base is, or the printing on Green Goblin's legs (which I think is pretty good anyway). At the end of the day they're releasing toys in order to make money, not art.
