  1. Right, thanks. I won't even bother to ask why that's called a "pony ear." I didn't even realize one could do that until about 2 years ago...
  2. 1. Could you provide a picture of the "pony ear" technique? I'd love to know what you're talking about. 2. Studded technic beams are uncommon in technic sets, but if you look at Lego as a whole they're everywhere! Most of my collection is 2004+ and I have more than 50 of them.
  3. Great idea using the jet bodies as balloons, too bad it will never leave Lego form as they aren't in a produceable format. I'd go with steel for the metal, iron's a bit heavy. Very innovative! Keep it up!
  4. That's odd. I think the only other inter-liscenced theme face was the generic "hero smile," which has recently been replaced by the PoP, thicker printed face (as I discovered opening an Indy Jones set with the newer edition in it.) And certainly Lego has never used the same licensed face for specific characters! Either Lego's getting cheaper, or they simply thought the face worked well in both cases.
  5. I don't have any specific examples, but I'm just counting an average number of times I've been befuddled recently...
  6. Right now there are about 10 sets that aren't yet out, though members still own them and review them. I know that in France, Amazon carries a whole bunch of summer sets, but where did daoudbazaar get the Portal of Atlantis, and what did he mean when he said that the set was available "since" December 2010? There are also tons of non-French members who've gotten their hands on "future" sets. Where did the picture of the public transport box come from? CLearly somebody owns it. Please help! -Darth Legolas
  7. I'm completely lost with dates now. For some reason, the front page of the Atlantis Portal Review says the set has been available "since December 2010," which I'm pretty sure hasn't happened yet in any time zone! It must be everyone else.
  8. Ronald is excellent! I'd love to have the decals you used! I can't wait 'till the American Minifigure release... Just two words for improvement: Fat minifigs. You did an excellent job! Just a couple of hamburgers or so should fill anything missing.
  9. You actually threw them out? You could've given them to me! What were you thinking? I'd like to see the UCS Shuttle, I'm not one for UCS's but the Shuttle is a very nice ship, and it could come with some great features too.
  10. Why does it say the first post is from September 2009? Also, are there any pictures of just the launching station and the rockets alone?
  11. What's the difference between a Lino and a Limo? Great limo! I've got a few questions though. 1. For the driving wheels, are the wheels beneath the outer wheels attached to the axle, and the outer wheels are loose? Otherwise, how did you attach the wheels? 2. Is the rechargeable battery box really that small? 3. Does your steering reset, or is it all manual? Thanks, and awesome work!
  12. That is just awesome! It works perfectly with the other recent buggies, the small Blue Buggy, the Larger Red Buggy, and now, the giant Yellow Buggy! The front suspension looks like that of the Red's, but the back is all it's own and it's perfect! Heck, you don't even need a motor for this! Thanks for showing us this! Give Slyous my complements!
  13. Oooh... Alright then! Never though about the AT-ST pilot helmet before. That's a great idea! The Padme hair was also something I was considering, and the robes have been mentioned before. You're right on the pirate torsos, considering how the Ostrich Rider practically IS a pirate! Oh, and, you're welcome. I have used that blanket thing before! I like your turban ideas, but I like to turn my minifigs around. If I happen to have anything from the Star Wars line? My name is Darth Legolas, isn't it? Thanks for the ideas everyone!
  14. If I found a nickel, I'd put it in my sig. 120 sounds good.
  15. Wait... isn't it 2 cents?
  16. Thanks for the replies everyone! @Peppermint_M: Of course, I can't find my pirate bandana! I already used a Ninja headwrap, and I was going to use a Jedi Robe but the belt looked to spacey. Thanks! @Asterios: Will do. Unfortunately, I don't have much long dark hair that is non-feminine, but I did try the classic hairpiece on one of my figs. @Etzel: I tried using tires, but failed. This looks much better! @Badboytje88: I really wanted a fez, but the whole IJ set just for the hats didn't seem worth it. I've already got the Marion minifig in their, and the barrel too! @The Legonater: Even if I had Bib, I'd never take him apart. He should be in my Jaba's palace, but no, one of the few SW minifgs I lost out on. I assume Civvie is Civil War, yes? Not really. I may apply for the contest, but I'm more caught up in the whole PoP thing on my own, and not because of EB. I just bough the little $13 set a few weeks ago, and then I thought "Hey! This is pretty cool! Maybe I should buy them all!" And here I am now. That's biography worthy.
  17. What kind to what face? Helmets go on anyone, but hair has to match specific people.
  18. Does anybody have a good suggestion for making a Persian bystander? I'm looking to make a minifig that doesn't involve PoP specialized parts or buying, so please don't just say "Take an Indy Jones guy and put the funny hat on him," because that won't help. I can't find any turbans, so what kind of headgear would you suggest for a PoP character? Thanks!
  19. Start a thing at your camp called rainbow town! Every week you build up a huge city with classic 2X4's, and then when the week's over, take a picture, destroy it, and start all over again! Imagine the fun! The bridge is great, especially the spaces underneath the road. The design is also beautiful, even without any fancy parts! Nice job.
  20. Great review! AT-AT jokes are always the best. I have to disagree with you there. The car is a little square, but compared to the photo of a smart car you gave us, it's almost a perfect match. The figure on the other hand, is absolutely atrocious. If you're going to buy a hoodie, you're not going to buy a white and baby blue hoodie! I would die before wearing that! It's not even fit for a 6-year-old girl! It's just horrific! I say, lose the white and blue, and make it all white or all gray.
  21. Beautiful! I can spot the differences between the two, but the variation makes it more realistic! The design is brilliant, I love the tread set-up, and the room inside is astounding. That army's extremely impressive too.
  22. I would double-check with my DVD, but at the end of the video, the credits say 2004? If that's all right, then how can it be sought after for 9 years? On the other hand, I'm not too sure that video is from 2004.
