Very nice build Legonardo! Lots of details to savour, I really like the plough, the roof, the guy with the bucket, and that wonderful volcanic ash cloud. The volcano is superb too, very nice micro. The elemental has just torn through the building! Those farmers are really brave to fight back!

Really nice details MikeyB! Congratulations on your knighthood! Very good to see Corra back in action. My favourite scenes here are the fleeing chickens and horse, and the charred corpses, very gruesome. Great build!
-
Lots of action to love here. I agree that the brown on brown colour scheme makes it a bit tricky to make out the details, but your elemental is lovely. Inspirational that you could put it together so quickly!

Wow, this guy is scary. And he is a cow snatcher! Very nice build Tyler, all that spinny trans action is really cool. It suits the Power Functions motion very well. The elemetal would be awesome even if he wasn't spinning. Great entry!

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread

It's Lego. You control the action. -
A very bold and ambitious build with a nice story. Very creative parts use on all the elementals, my favourite is the use of the clear box for the wind elemental and the blue crystals for the sand elemental creeping through. Nice job!

Arise, Sir DaMaximus! Me too! Welcome to the order of the Knights! Well, free builds are pretty important too, so if you need more time to get it right, just post your build when you are happy with it. We are very intrigued to see your ideas. -
Genuinely scary! Run! Great concept Rolli. the elemental reminds me of the Terminator skeleton, the effect with the trans tiles leaving the rocks floating is superb. As always, a very nice use of the signature cheese slopes, your colour use is remarkable on the roof and throughout the build. I'm not sure I picked up on the micro component, but I really like this. Well done!

Very nice build Erynlasgalen. Love the Ruskinian building design (there's a lot of these in Manchester, UK where I grew up). The blackening of the smaller building looks great, and the smoke effect is noteworthy. I really like the minifig posing, the nobility and heroism of the Kaliphlin Royal Guard is justly depicted. That scraggy evil fire beast will find us better prepared next time. A terrible tragedy for this disaster to occur even in the heart of Kaliphlin, but we shall prevail!

Incredible build, Drow Master! Very nice presentation too, all that trans must have been a real challenge to photoshop, great job. I love the water especially, but what's not to love here? Stupendous level of detail and quality of build. So the story is that the Drow Angel saves the city from the Water Elemental? Can't wait for the brickshelf to become public.

What a gorgeous, exuberant, phoenix! The tails and snake pieces look wonderful. The micro lansdscape is extremely well realised, especially the disney castle, love that use of the drill. Great bridge too, it looks like it is angled towards us? The composition of the first shot is first class, very nicely balanced. Beautiful entry Cara!

No-one really knows if the attack on Maes Drin was Elemental, magework, or just a freak of nature. But that tornado was very specific, it carried away only the houses of the Lord and the prettiest girl in town. What a blow for the people! But, they were unmolested after that, so they learned to live with it. Director's note Tablescrap, basically. My secondary idea was to make a big typhoon from trans clear, and put the whole town somewhere in it. Now I realise how hard it is to photograph, I'm glad I didn't The primary idea was much better. But I thought I would share this anyway, to add to the air elementals.

Abdas, Welcome brother! A pleasure to have you join us! My caravans have stayed many times at your inn, and very much enjoyed the hospitality. Sebeus I, a wonderful ship she is, remind me to commission 2 more. We may have some rather sensitive cargo, and it would be wise to avoid entanglements But your sniper bows make us confortable, if any complications arise. I am done for Challenge 4. I did say, it would be different! -
Shortly before his demise at his own hands, the Mad Monk Aloysius of the Holy Order recorded for posterity the scene of devastation that recently engulfed Caestra. Aloysius was in a fragile mental condition, and we cannot say for sure whether this is an accurate representation, as there are no other known survivors. The ruins of Caestra do suggest at least some of this picture represents events on the ground. The Elementals and their minions are a mighty force. We must redouble our defences. Yours Aye, Rasputin Director's note I wanted to try something very different with this challenge. The challenge of translating a Hieronymous Bosch painting into lego very much appealed. Bosch's visions of Hell epitomise the Medieval horror of the supernatural, for me. I want to leave open the suggestion that some of this might be the imagination of a somewhat fragile Mad Monk. This picture is based on a fragment of "Christ in Limbo" from a follower of Bosch. I know there are some religious Christians on the site, I have no intention to offend anyone with this challenge. I have kept commentary in the story to a minimum because I am not really too sure what is going on in the painting in the first place. But it ain't good if this stuff comes to Historica! Terrible light today, apologies for the photo quality.

WOW Angeli! I am sure this is be 48x48x40000, it looks amazing so far! -
A beautiful bucolic scene. Nice parts use for the pipe! This really makes me think about the scene in Wayne's World where Garth and Wayne watch the jets taking off, something about that chilled expression on their faces after a smoke!

Phenomenal! What a superb water elemental! The building itself is a great MOC too. Your scenes of destruction are very well done. Love it! Great entry. -

By the way, did anyone else notice that Mitgardia has roared into the lead? -
Very nice Mikel! I especially like the ears and the use of flippers. Your water effect makes me seasick already ha ha What a rough swell! Hope you both feel better soon

 Very sorry to hear if gabe, your wip is looking as fantastic as your usual standards. Still, families come first. Could I suggest you post the micro gatehouse you already built and photographed? But, as our leader says, we are ultimately building for ourselves, so you are the arbiter. Wow, we have some really strong builders who can't make it this time. I have just started building for the challenge, luckily I have a free weeked so I am hopeful I can get something finished in time. I can promise it will be different Who else is planning to enter? -
This is great! A really nice choice of subject, and a very polished build. If you get enough tiles to tile the floor, it would be even smoother. I love the guy with the moustache and the beret, he looks a real connoisseur.

Really nice build zergu! What are you using for Window shutters? It looks great. This would be awesome as a free build for Kaliphlin in the Guilds of Historica project, have you considered joining? We'd love to have you as a member

It would be awesome to show some recognition to those who have participated in the challenges with a guild tag, and maybe a pimped-up tag for those who have participated in every challenge. Welcome, Ageven Deraim! A traveller from across the seas! They say, there are many wondrous sights the mind can scarce imagine across the Southern Ocean. yet none has ever come back. Tell us, what is the manner of your home town? You will find many fine neighbours and allies in this part of Kaliphlin. Massively agree on both points. Amazing builds in Nocturnus. Keep on punching above your weight Nocturnians! Hey Mikel, thanks for remembering the Piscithopter! I do try to keep my tech to within what was feasible in the Medieval, even if it wasn't common - I have kind of assumed the Dark Ages didn't happen, so I am actually using more Ancient technologies, which seem kind of Modern in a Medieval context, confusingly. Z knows approximately a million times more than I do about boats, but yours looks fantastic to me And what a thing it would be! Great build gabe. Welcome Sebeus I! We are most honoured to have a designer of your fame join us! The Kaliphlin navy is a merchant Navy of sleek and trim small commercial vessels, some of our neighbours have mighty gunships that are very impressive. If only we had something like a Dutchman
