  1. Sdair Zuree, welcome to the guild! Grab a mead and let's swap stories of the bird gods - we hear that Rocs still live in the Easten islands. The Petraea Geeral Trading Compay may well be able to help with distribution of your produce, and contribute to the prosperity of your towns. Mikel, whoooooah! Love the sand dunes, this is going to be special. With regards to the current unpleasantness in Nocturus, we were sorry to hear of the civil war amongst the Drow, which has now spread to all Nocturnus and beyond. We enjoyed good relations with Valsharess and we mourn her passing. The PGTC remains ready buyers for cash of grains, timber, metals and other basic commodities in large size. purpleparadox, intriguing start! @NiceMarmot, my tag is a train tag that I was lucky enough to be awarded in a contest. If you find any more of those palm fronds, you have a ready trading partner in the PGTC (Hong Kong) branch!
  2. This is really nice, soccerkid. Modular build is very good - although it is a bit limiting sometimes to have to have regular horizontal breaks, in a simple building like this it adds a lot. I love all the details you put in this, it's an excellent build, and good on you for pushing yourself on techoques. Very nice figure posing too. Great work
  3. 31 rogueang 1 point for outstanding variety, story and photography 20 Jareth 1 point for for outstanding script, humour, and imagination 19 Angeli 1 point for sheer epic arrogance, and for pulling it off - also for an amazing story 10 lisqr 1 point for stunning technique and vision 5 Christoph 1 point for brilliant technical skill and for imagination This was very hard to choose - honourable mentions to Erynlasgalen, Cara, gabe, Basiliscus, Jason Cicchini, and Tazmaniac, who were all in my top 5 at some point. Many thanks to the judges for their comments on the builds, I think their comments have been very helpful.
  4. The fleet is superb Hersbrucker, and your landscaping is beautifully done. I am glad that Darecold's clan is prospering
  5. Very good story and build Bartjuh. I really love that stunning gateway. The dragon is super cute too! lovely entry, well done
  6. Old Tom, they call me. Of course, I was Young Tom when I started here, but that was many a year's gone by now. Yes, I've been keeping bar at The Drum for a long time. I've seen some things in my time, I can tell you. Of course, there was all that terrible business with McGee, that started right here you know. Yes, here in The Drum. Lovely boy he was, that Sancho, it was a terrible shame what happened. Terrible shame. She was a lovely lady too. But I'll tell you what, something happened the other day that put me right in mind of that sad tale. Another diamond thing, it was, blue one. Not the usual crowd at all, they were traveller types, know what I mean. Anyway, he holds it up just the same as she did all those years ago, him with the funny hair and the accent, very learned gentleman he was, ever so well spoken. They were all very chuffed about it anyway. Quite boisterous lads they were, but high-spirited, you know, nothing mean about them. Tipped well and didn't make a mess. Anyways, thanks for popping by. All the best to you. Cheers Note - two of the missing scenes from the Piscithopterwould have been our heroes assembling as is traditional in a tavern, and the mummies celebrating afterwards, but I ran out of time, so now it's a free build vig. This pub is a Kaliphlinised plagiarism of WalterBoy's excellent Adventure Brews. Nothing really new here apart from the windows, and it is my first time to try the partially studded floor for posing figs. Old Tom is a tribute to the memory of my college Barman.
  7. Congratulations to gabe on the shiny new shield!
  8. Early, varied, entertaining, technically innovative, beautifully presented, good colour use, most sinous guardian, well balanced between text and pictures. Apart from that, I really like it! The later chapters are a good addition too. Superb entry
  9. Great salvage job Kayne! Lots to like in this series, the story is really good, it has that quiet Wednesday afternoon in the tavern feel. I particularly like the walls in the chamber, the smooth rocky feel is very appealing, and the decorative strip looks really good. Special award for best use of Dobby! Another startlingly brilliant entry from Kaliphlin!
  10. The lighting really is awesome, especially at the campfire. I love the whole Elektra/ninja training references, the birth scene is lovely too. My favourite is crossing the river, so simple but brilliant. The arrow in the eye of the guardian looks very good. I won't repeat what everyone else said on other details, great build!
  11. A great story, I really liked the typically hobbit republicanism and the dwarven knife. Some very nice touches in the build too, like the stepping stones/pathway and exiting the cave. Look forward to more from you in future, glenpinpat, great entry
  12. That is the shortest and most effective story in the whole competition! The minifigs are very intriguing, I would like to hear more about the Mummy king and the chained man. More action shots would be good too
  13. Very nicely written story Blaze, I like the humorous dialogue (though I thought there was a bit too much exposition in the Blood Elves chapter). Great series of builds too, for me the highlights are that translucent blue tomb, and the brilliant composition of photo of the mine at the start of chapter 4. Really strong entry. For me some of the builds look very well finished, I agree with Basiliscus thatothers could do with a bit more finishing if you have the pieces well done.
  14. Talonmere is not a very nice man! The heroes didn't wait to find out? This whole story is very nicely made, I really liked the Council of leaders and the Blind Monk especially. You did a great job of telling the story through quite economical vigs, well played. It would be good if you could post links to all the chapters, so they are easier to find. Brilliant entry, Jason
  15. This is an ingenious design, soccerkid. I love the moving parts, and the ravine is a really brave choice (because it is so hard to photograph ). You built it very well. The going home vigs are really nice too. Great entry
  16. Jareth, this story is so good. Very funny, lots of variety of scenes, some brilliant building techniques in each chapter. Hiding the gems is absolute genius! I think I found them all, it tooka while. Superb entry
  17. Beautiful colours and parts usage on this one
  18. So young, and so full of promise. Why!!! Wonderful build, the solitude and open vista really adds to the emotion. But seriously, Quinn is one of the best characters in all of Historica. Why!!!?
  19. The witch queen of the Drow is dead. Long Live the Witch Queen of the Drow! What an epic. The poetic story, the enormous battle and its subplots and subsubplots, and that amazing city, full or brilliant characters and action. Actually, this is one of the best stories as well as one of the best builds. Bravo Angeli!
  20. Some very nice scenes Mikey. I really like the overhead shot of the maps. Lots of nice details, which really help the story to come to life. Great entry, I am glad you keep stretching yourself
  21. I love the interior shot especially, wonderful cave - I can't tell where the SNOT join is at all, very smoothly done. Your photo of the top of the tower is very nice too, and I really like the waterfall (especially the bottom). A very nice story too, I felt sorry for the ape, was that a King Kong reference? Or maybe it's a reflection of humanity? I thought he was a brilliant guardian for the narrative, if not as spectacular as all those big dragons. I think the final build is a lot richer than the WIP shots, it's another amazing entry from Kaliphlin!
  22. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why gabe is the double champion of the Kaliphlin guild! I am so glad that you got this finished in time, watching the WIPs was an inspiration. Highlights for me - the first vig is still breathtaking, especially the colours and detail. I far prefer this mark II Water Horse, looks great ahead of the prow, and its not-quite-in focus look is very suitable for the foamy creature. The mini-island, the water effects on the entry to the cave, the lighting, all suberb. Brilliant entry, I like it more each time I look
  23. I didn't comment on this at the time, but from yellowcastle's list, I think we could be getting the Dutchman for Chrsitmas here TC-14 and Olympics were subsequently confirmed so hopefully 8805 is real too. Very odd set number though, doesn't feel quite right.
  24. I love the old school Orient Expedition vibe here Kabel, it has a sparse economy of line that feels very true to its icy subject matter. Your Wind guardian really stands out for its originality, and the Yeti is a lovely touch. Goes to show these builds do not need a lot of bricks to be very effective. Winter is coming!
  25. Even better big than small, you made this beautifully Mikel, I think opening the side of the temple makes it much more mysterious somehow, as well as easier to photograph. The soldiers hanging off the bridge are excellent. The ground cover vegetation is really well done, it does exactly what you need it too in terms of being unobtrusive but interesting. A wonderful build for Kaliphlin!
