I might be wrong here but I think that it represents a California Highway Patrol policeman. At least it was the first thing that came into my mind when I first saw the minifig. -
One of my all time favorite movies! "Say hello to my little friend!" Al at his best.

Welcome to Eurobricks Federico! It's great that you've found your way in here. I see that you're already planning some good city related things. Nice! Enjoy your stay and have fun.

Cool and clever addition!

It looks great lightningtiger! You're making me see look at stickers in a more positive way. Great work with those! All the details are excellent! Btw, what are these small pictures under the torsos? Commercial catalogues? Overall, fun-tastic result!

Thanks for the link Oky! Series 2 minifigs look absolutely great! I would say that almost all of them are a MUST have. The new skier's knit hat looks very realistic and the disco guy has this actual "boogie groove" expression in his face! Even the new police guy looks great! I must find a motorcycle for him ASAP. That's what I first noticed too. Dang TLG, name the guy for stud's sake! Pam was always hot during Baywatch! -
Great for once more! Every time I look at it, I find something new to excite me! Really! Thanks Teddy!

I know what you mean but trust me, once you see it from close, or better build it, you'll see that it looks great. Speaking for myself, I think that it's the most realistic of the three. It has this "rough" look that does the job. Thanks for your kind words Rufus! Bronze looks nice indeed! About the tyres, yes, these are a little bit bigger than the average tyres used in most city sets. They look more inflated. I took some quick photos to see the difference. Hope they helped. You can also check them here. Thanks again for your comments classmate!

What a great set idea K-D!

Welcome to Eurobricks Johan! Your city looks absolutely beautiful, with some great sets in it! I can totally understand how you feel when it comes to 4 versus 5/6/7. I still feel the same and I still prefer 4 wide vehicles but I think that time will be your friend in this. Worked for me to be honest. I also agree on the comment about roadplates. I, too, still prefer the light grey ones from mid '80s, the ones with the green stripe on the side. Anyhow, great introduction you've made in here and be sure to enjoy your stay!

What you did with the flowers was a great idea! Literally saying "I love you" with flowers! Have a great day together!

Hmmm..tough one... I love all the means of transportation mentioned in the poll but after a lot of thinking I think I'll have to go with boats and ships. Since I live in a country that has a tradition in maritime I think I'm influenced by that and I was always starting the creation of a city layout for the harbour area--something that is tightly connected to ships and a major factor for my vote. I'm literally praying for a new harbour set next year. Cool topic TB.

I watched LOTR The Return Of The King last night. Probably for the 6th or 7th time. Such a great movie and trilogy!

Great topic def. During my childhood (mid 80s to early 90s) I was focused in Town (90%) and Pirates (10%) and when I came back from my dark ages I was still showing interest in these two themes - keeping the interest percentage the same. Since I wasn't too excited with the new Pirates and since the amount of sets that had been released was rather small (I bought them all except the Shipwreck's Hideout) my focus is City-Town and the other City-oriented sets (Modulars, Creator buildings, etc). So, the answer is yes, I've settled into one theme (to rule them all! ) from the beginning I guess and I think I'll stick to that. P.S There are some sets from other themes that are worth buying though (mainly for the minifigs or other unique accessories) and I did. P.S#2 Unless TLG has any sort of plans of a Greek theme.

It looks great if you ask me! The way you've used the curved pieces is excellent and really makes the bulding look unique. The small balconies are great too and I particularly like the entrance! Very well designed! It would be great to see this MOC in flesh and bones bricks and tiles! Great work marcosbessa!

Very nice work so far lightningtiger! The torsos hanging there look very realistic. I look forward to the final result!

Thanks for your good word Grevious. I 'm really glad you liked it. I still haven't placed it next to the Farm set yet, (the two Farm buildings are disassembled) but it's definitely in my plans. I think that they will look great next to each other. My advice? Start searching for space! The pigs need some room for rolling!

That's exactly what I meant. Having rumors, at least when the first pictures were released, that it could be a Roman soldier and the everlasting discussion about a Roman theme, I would really like to see the official name of this minifig. Hoplite that is. Yep, that's where I live! The company I was working in a few years ago was having all its conferences in Candia Maris. I hope you 've enjoyed your stay here! It's nice to walk on the walls, isn't it? "Den elpizo tipota. Den fovumai tipota. Eimai lefteros." -

My exact thoughts too. I was only asking this because we are dealing with a toy and something could be named "X" without having %100 accurate design or elements. In this case for example, saying to kids that this minifig represents a Roman soldier. All your assumptions were correct. I'm Greek, my username Zorbas comes from Nikos' Kazantzakis book "Zorba The Greek". Kazantzakis is one of my favourite authors. Actually, my hometown and where I come from is the same place Kazantzakis was born and buried. -

Great idea! On a side note, do we have any sort of confirmation or information that this minifig is indeed a Greek one? It certainly looks like one but then again, since we are talking about a toy, sometimes accuracy is not the prime target. I really hope it's a hoplite though. Small off-topic info: The term "Hoplite" is still been used today in the Greek Army. Every soldier carrying a gun/rifle (H-oplo) is called a Hoplite even now.
