Fantastic entry - love all the biys of detail and the whole humour really caught the spirit of the competition!
-
stairs look really good to me - gives it a really good sense of depth. I really like how it looks plain on the outside and then it opens up into a nice scene.
-
hehe - are you suggesting I accidentally made them look like something rude?? Thanks for the comments and vote Klaus - means alot to me! My Bantha is very much a prototype and still trying to figure out a way to make the horns look decent - saw a picture once of a large Bantha which had used flexi pipes as the horns which I might try.
-
yeah sort of - childrens plasticine! I tried to make some curved ones from putty but they kept breaking.
-
I nearly classed it as a single brick built minifig which would of left me loads of pieces to build my Tusken camp but I somehow thought I wouldn't get away with it!
-
The face was the hardest bit to do and yeah the horns do look they are insulting everyone! - I wanted to do a fully curled horn but couldn't get it to work.

Set 4097 Bantha Attack Battlepack Minifigs: 2 Tusken Warriors, Bantha handler, Tusken Shaman Pieces: 70 "Ride out accross the Dune Sea in search of prey. The Tuskens are out looking for loot or slaves to bring back to camp. Riding on top of their fearsome Bantha they search out vulnerable victims and lost droids! The warriors carry deadly rifles whilst the mysterious Shaman uses his ancient powers to summon up sand storms and raise the bravery of his comrades." Motivation: I like several other members am a closet Tusken fan but wanted to make a set that showed off their potential as a fighting force (I'm fed up of them being seen as weedy!). The obvious way to make them stronger was to build the mighty Bantha but I wasn't sure I could make one look decent, especially within the brick limit. In the end I remembered something from my childhood when we used to make elephants and this is pretty much the basic frame I started from. Getting down to 70 pieces was also really tricky and I had to loose some of the "hair" and a fancy war saddle I had made to come in but I think the end result is ok. ps Kim would you delete my other entry Box cover design The crew: 2 warriors, Bantha handler and Shaman side top front

Fenris - the Bob pic has turned out brilliantly, even if you didn't totally mean it! Looks superb and moody.

Nice entry, simple yet effective. The way you used the real picture on the box is also a nice effect.
-
Superb Walker Cole - extremely detailed for such a small vehicle. Reminds me of a mini loading walker from Aliens film.

Doh! This morning the crafty and devious sales assistant had obviously figured out the kind of antics we have been upto and made me cut out the coupons from my papers.

Yip, great shots Fenris. Scout Walker fits in really well and you managed to get trees, figs and vehicle all to scale perfectly. Great stuff!

Received my Home One today and just wanted to comment that this is a GREAT set. Definately worth a purchase - 5 really rare figs, A Wing is a little gem and the hanger/control room are surprizingly excellent. The photos and the box pictures dont do the hanger/control room justice as it really is a neat build - looks excellent and some nifty little features like the spinning launch platform.

[REVIEW] Anniversary Silver Stormtrooper Magnet
Danthebrick replied to PDQAg's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I actually think Lego has been quite crafty and made moves to defeat the ebay trade. Nobody gains from the ebayers who charge say £20 for a normal individual minifig or stocks up on these exclusives to rip the genuine collectors off. By releasing much easier to get hold of exclusives and rarer figures in magnet/battlepack form they reduce the opportunity for crazy prices as genuine collectors can by reasonbly priced items with the profit going to TLG. I actually take my hat off to Lego for this policy though I do wish they would sort the regional variance in availability of both exclusives and normal sets as this still seems unfair. -
Another ingenius lighting idea Mr Smokebelch! Great atmosphere created for the Vader shot!

The modified version of the Fire Fighter is now ready! Thanks for your feedback guys - I have tried to incorporate them into my improved design. Dan

Definate must have set though I agree the price is a little high. Thought the review was great! - no harm in chucking in a bit of humour with a review... now how many years before the set reaches the distant shores of the UK?

Like the moody looking Darth Maul on his hols Commander Rob! Smokebelch is getting quite a following of budding apprentices now!

the composition on the first gonk shot makes it one of your best pics yet in my opinion Smokebelch. I been trying to get some more pics yesterday but nothing I am pleased with really. Gonna switch my creativity to trying to get my Invasion Contest entry looking a little better but as soon as the light conditions ae better in my garden I got a shot in mind!

Great background story L-space. If the creation is as good as this it will be awesome!
-
Holy Cow Batfans! - Pow! Thats one groovy and shiny ship you made!
-
Great shots Jammiedodger714! I like the use of the broken dry soil and the comedy giant chicken shot! Maybe KimT should start a photography competition (maybe ban Smokebelch to give us a chance!) and could have different themes like: best close up, best landscape, best animal scene! etc!
