Fantastic entry and love the presentation style with the text around the picture - George Lucas would be impressed! -
It does work - didnt leave some marks on the legs when I did it but nothing major.

Astromech Workplace Contest: Mustafar Control Base
Danthebrick replied to pjpviv's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Amazing building and lovely flames. Maybe you could add another droid or somehow make the droid more key to the scene as thats what the comp is about - if you could manage that somehow you would be one of the best entries so far. -
Hi all, Here is my entry for the contest. On many worlds droids take the place of the living in terms of tackling the most dangerous jobs. Luckily R2 has just had a coat of flame resistant paint ready for his new job as a firefighter! Danthebrick

Really well executed scene - like it! What did you use for the Padme torso - is it a decal?

Has everyone in the UK realised that Symths are giving away shirtless Darth Maul with any purchase of Star Wars Lego?? I bought two planet sets and got 2 Mauls which was nice though I did real pretty as I bought one off ebay for £25 a few weeks back.

I seen these in Symths Toy Store in Wigan

mmmmmm........ can't see the metal pin in the neck, unless they done an extremely good job of filling in and hiding as can still see the Lego logo on the neck. If it was a keychain it was definately a Snowtrooper one as has the Snowtrooper printed front. Thanks for the replies, unfortunately, a mystery this still is, clouded its history is. -

Hi guys. Any idea where this figure originates? I picked it up at a stall at the Lego event in Manchester for £5. Never seen it before but thought seemed worth it compared to the other exclusives I have. It is a regular Snowtrooper except the Lego logo on the back - must of been a giveaway at some point. ps great to see Cavegod's creations in the flesh - even more awesome and the event itself was well worth a visit (a touch expensive but hey). -

Fscinating interview of a mega collector. Really interesting to read about someone who has a far more severe adiction than myself! The size of the armies is pure awesome and really impressive work on the Ewok tree village - looking forward to seeing it completed. -
Sad for the website but glad you going onto bigger things Kim - all the best! Hope you can pass on real AFOLs views to Lego and get them to keep producing excellent sets!

Here's an updated picture of my collection - as you can see, largely SW but a few Alien Conquest and Collectable minifigs sneak in! Also a pic of the solution to the dilema - "should I open my eclusive polybags?" question - my solution being to frame the opened polybag in a 6 x 4 photo frame. -
RIP Ralph - a truely great contribution to sci fi and seemed like a really nice guy.

Great feature article - enjoyed the read, the fun pics and revisiting some classic shots. -
Tesco are clearing their discontinued stock - its just a case of seeing what your local store has left - my store near Manchester (Walkden) had the Pod Racer set at half price - I have also seen the Geonosan Fighter reduced to half price.
-
Thanks guys for the Asda UK info - I popped into my local store and got droid escape for £11.50 and the Geonosan Cannon for £8.50 - very happy! Also Tesco has Pod Racer set for £34.99 and I'm tempted to get it at that price.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion

cheers Watchman - got the figures I wanted after second feeling event - I felt really dodgy standing in the supermarket feeling packets for ten minutes but worth it now! Didn't find anymore with 2 figures in a packet though. -

I bought 2 packs from my local Tesco who had loads - I tried to feel the packs to find the figs I wanted - primarily the Roman and Statue of Liberty but failed miserably to get the figs I wanted - getting the female space cadet and scater girl - however my technique did discover something I have never come across - my scater girl pack had 2 complete figures in! Weird! -
For the fourth year running, Lord Vader had banned Xmas on the Death Star. However, a couple of fun loving Imperial Officers decide to spruce up Cude Dude IG-88.........
-
Wow! Thats one hell of an impressive beast! Has a sort of Halo dropship kind of feel to it. Love the bounty hunter backstory and especially how you made that crossbow gun - very neat.

Some feedback to TLG from your esteemed self would be great Kim. One point though that a lot of people are missing is that Lego TRIED to do a good thing - they TRIED to do a fairer system of distributing these exclusive/limited figs whereas only luck, geographical location or ability to attend conventions had enabled people to get these figures in the past. At least this one had clear ground rules to give the masses a chance to get one. Don't get me wrong, I'd be tearing my hair out if my ARF didn't turn up (incidently I ordered teatime on the 4th and got mine - sorry guys) but at least the principle was well intentioned and hopefully the backlash from disgruntled fans won't put them off doing this again, rather they will learn and get better at managing stock levels etc.
