Review: 6081 King's Mountain Fortress
Admiral Croissant replied to metalandi's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This one is great It has a lot minifigures and a great drawbridge. I believe I don't have this one but I always made drawbridges so it's great that this set has one as well. Good review! -
Lovely piece of art again Derfel! A lot of fine details and great work on the 'broken' walls and on the roofs. Expect it on the frontpage soon
-
It's a nice fort so far, but the big hall is still a bit empty. Try putting there some more furniture and stuff like that. For the rest it looks good, the bell is also nice
-
Ok then just keep your cannons I think you could just use the black ropes that you've also used on some other places. But any brown or black rope would do fine there.
-
Ah there it is! I think the sails look quite good, and I also like the look of all the flags. I think you could better use normal cannons as bowchasers, and put normal ropes on the place of the plastic ones (to the crow's nest) because they don't fit very well. For the rest it looks quite good, and ofcourse: welcome to the forum!

Eh...I can't see anything because the folder isn't public yet. You can post the pictures very easily. Click on the image on brickshelf, so that you only see the picture (so nothing else of the site). Then you can copy the link, put him in a post and do this: [image] before, and [/image] at the end of the link. That's all, good luck!

A very classical, yet very great creation! MOC's about skirmishes between soldiers and pirates always turn out to be great scenes, and this is no exception The minifigs don't move but it's still a very lively MOC. I have nothing to complain about good job!

But this ship has the Union Jack, so it's british, so HMS is good. And this ship is called GrandUEr, so it's not the same name (not GrandEUr) Your flag is nice, just as the rigging (though string would look much better). The colourscheme is also great, just like the GrandEUR. Anyway, it's a rather nice ship, good job

Do you like studs hidden or showing?
Admiral Croissant replied to Legoist's topic in General LEGO Discussion
On the decks of my ship I definetely prefer studs. In big storms it's always very useful to have them so you don't slip and fall into the water In the cabin it's also useful because it makes it very easy to move furniture and minifigs. Studs for me! (and on some parts -only a few- I like tiles more, but really on very few places) -
Teddy, Happy Birthday! Didn't have that rank yet
-
It's a cool experiment, and it works pretty well
-
Very funny But if the redcoat is a skeleton, he has been dead for quite a while... So, either the fire has been burning all the time (mysterious...), or someone has put it on (also mysterious, or the monkeys did it (?))
-
I think white would be the best, but with the current bow and stern hullpieces the white part would go to high, so then I think black would be better. So if the shape of hull pieces would change, I would prefer them white. And copper would also be nice
-
I actually meant that the bow should be in the same direction as the bow of the brig But maybe your way is right too. And I didn't know about those chickens, that's really fun to know The alternative figurehead is also very nice

[COMIC] "Kings And Queens Of The Sea" - Episodes
Admiral Croissant replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
Of course! Stupid that I didn't see that... -
Great ship! The rigging is great, and the flag as well. And of course the colourscheme, very original There's just nothing wrong with it Except for the headrails, they are a bit too yellow, I think a bit more black will make it look better already. For the rest it's excellent
-
It has a nice tower and the SNOT water is great as well. The fort could use a flag though (as a finishing touch ) The tiled mooring is also a nice thing, good job and good luck in the design contest Or has the contest already been finished?
-
That sea, that building...wonderful! Your wall technique is great and you also did a great job on how the house is placed on the rock. Yeah it's just great
-
That looks pretty promising Your masts are indeed on the right place and you stern fitts well to the ship. For sails I just used some cloth, and put it in a bucket with black tea for a few hours. Now they look very good. And next thing is to cut out the sails and put some varnish on the edges (and I also draw some lines on the sails). There might be a better way to make sails but for me this will do fine. Anyway, keep it up with this ship!

Great fort! Very orignial idea to make it on such a high cliff. I also like the stairs going all the way to the top. You did a great job on this one. Fort Cliff is indeed not a very original name But I don't know a better one either, maybe 'Sky Fort' or something like that. Anyway, this is frontpage-worthy, so:

You did indeed! This is an awesome ship! I really like your sails and the tiled deck is great as well. The sides of the ship are full of nice (coloured-)details. If you want to improve it, I think you could lower the spanker sail a bit (so the top yard is on the same level as the crow's nest), and turn the lifeboat 180 degrees. For the rest I think nothing should be done about it, it's a perfect MOC Hm... I see I was too late to blog it

Great idea to make a ship in Queen style I'm not a big queen fan really, but I viewed a picture of the real band and I could recognize all the band-members on your ship I think your brown hull pieces don't fit very well with the rest of your ship and on the other hand it could use some more brown and black colours like Slyowl already mentioned. For the rest you did a good job, the image on your sails are also nice.

Great collection Blackmoor! I remember us having a beautiful altar for the head of Commodore Hornbricker, do you remember? Anyway, here's my bling-bling: Including: -Coins, with a total worth of $770 -10 golden nuggets -3 golden crowns -7 silver swords -14 diamonds in different colours -1 golden Inca/Aztec thing But for me, croissants are still the most valuable things in the world
-
This is a fine MOC, with a lot of funny details. Your wig is nice indeed and so are the beards The 'Krusty Krab' sign is also quite funny Good job!

BrickArms Musket Prototype
Admiral Croissant replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
That is great! I would for sure buy some of them. Though I think I would like brown plastic ones more since that is more lego-like and because the biggest part of real muskets is brown as well (isn't it? ) But it still looks fantastic
