  1. Very great building! I like the roof technique and the entire design is just lovely (and very original) Good job
  2. It looks very great with the sails! I have a book with a picture of the 'Transit' which was a very revolutionary designed ship at the time (1800) and it looks very similar to your ship. Strange thing is that it had square 'latin' sails on top of the ones you've put on your ship. Anyway, nice ship and a very original design (like I believe I said before )
  3. Great to see the real thing! It turned out really well The tiled deck, the yards, the doors and the barrel with swords are very nice. Now to answer some of your questions: I believe that the bowsprit shouldn't consist of 2 beams for such a long part, only at one place it's 2 beams on each other, likehere And I would have put the oars in the boats and place some spears (like boarding 'pikes' (?) instead. There are not really 'right'colours as it usually was just the captain's choice. Blue, white and black were very normal colours. Is HMS Lusyanka not a good name? otherwise maybe a (roman) name, a city, or something like 'hope' or 'destiny' or something like that.
  4. Nice MOC, I like your waves a lot as well as the wet sand and the brown beams coming out of the house. Sir Wellington must be a very happy person with such a building And some guards would be nice too, as it still looks a bit sparsely populated for a house of such an important man But the MOC itself is great
  5. Yes, first I have made it with tiles but then it became hard to place furniture and minifigs in it, and since I don't use a lot of tiles for the decks anyway, I decided to do it with plates. Well, I only did the rigging on 1 mast, so the rest still has to be done, I will show it when it's ready.
  6. I share your interest in Pirate lego, history, drawing, comics and tropical fish Those are really nice things, hopefully you will also make MOC's influenced by these interests. Anyway, welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will have a great time here!
  7. Welcome to the forum! I hope you will make some nice ships (and an airport). Have fun here!
  8. They look really fast and aerodynamical. I like the yellow one more than the grey one, it looks a bit more detailed and modern, but the white one is also very nice. Good job
  9. Great work on the wave And the temple is also very nice. Unfortunately there aren't a lot good torso's for a MOC like this yet, maybe some decals would be nice instead of using only 2 different torso's but it's still a great MOC
  10. I once read that the figurehead of a sister ship (So a ship with exactly the same design) of the HMS beagle was called 'HMS Kangaroo'. The figurehead of this ship was a kangaroo, so is very likely that the beagle had a beagle dog as figurehead. (more about this here) I used this brick here but I believe I was the first one who used them, so I don't know what the others used for belay pins. If you are making it minifig scale, I think seven is possible, otherwise, I think 3 are enough because otherwise there isn't much place left on the ship. What might also be useful to you, some people have made a virtual model of the Beagle, a movie with it can be found here (dutch spoken, but nice footage)
  11. It really depends on the sort of MOC and on the techniques you are using. For ships, many people use a lot of 'jumper plates' to make a tumblehome, for the cobblestone effect the 1x1 round plates are indeed very useful. Plants/flowers and stuff like that are always very welcome too. So do you have any idea of what you want to build and how? I think that will be very important for the kinds of bricks you want to buy.
  12. This war is really running out of hand now, if they were all colour blind there would have been peace Anyway, great film again, and very funny
  13. She is quite big! I can see some really nice things: -tiled decks (I agree with Errorist though) -the bell -fore-chasers -nice cannon bases -and an enourmous number of gunports The only thing that I don't really like is that the masts are very short and thin. So I suppose this is without a brickbuilt hull? In that way the ship will change quite a bit..can't wait to see how that turns out! Good job so far, keep it up!
  14. That looks good I don't know Mary Jane very well, but I've seen Sleepy Hollow and a documentary about Jack the Ripper and I'm really looking forward to your MOC's. Nice job so far, good luck with the rest.
  15. Great that these pokémon can also attack, and they look very good. You also did a good job on Prof. Oak The only thing that bothers me is that the legs of the pokémon seem a little bit strange because the inverted stud-things are the same colour. Maybe, if you make the parts between the legs black or something, the legs will look more like they should be. But for the rest you did a very good job
  16. Great, that made me laugh Also funny that suddenly the door opens and there's this Malfoy again. He seems to be always at the time/place where one of the 'good guys' gets some kind of problem Looking out for more!
  17. I like the SNOT decking, and the whole scene just looks very swamp-like. Maybe some frogs and snakes would be great too, but the alligator makes it brilliant enough Good job
  18. Nice! The pictures are from a very good quality again and the story is also fine. Can't you make movies of this (or another) story? That would be great too.
  19. Good work! I can't see the difference between the torso and the decal at all The shako's are also very nice, I can't wait to see the cavalry!
  20. Haha! that was funny! The animation is very good and there are some great effects in it, like the electricity. Good job, keep on filming
  21. I've changed my entry and as you can see it's valid now: Well, you can only see the front here, but the sides are good too
  22. Yes you're right, I more meant that the design was rather nice (though some yellow would make it even better). The angle isn't yet perfect indeed. Anyway, it will be changed so it will be allright.
  23. It is! And actually I am the one who convinced them Your entry is looking very fine. The roof is nice and the lift system is also great. Good job
  24. ..and that's exactly how it is! I believe that life aboard would be much easier if everyone had croissants (but ofcourse only very fortunate people can afford them) Anyway, your ship is looking fantastic, the beam for the anchor is looking good so far and I also like the figurehead a lot! I have to agree, but since you are adjusting things all the time I think you will be able to fix that without too many problems. For the rest I have nothing to complain so far, keep on building this way and she will turn out really nice! Good luck captain Oh, before I forget (I actually did forget, but fortunately I can edit the post ):
  25. Great work It's nice to see how you made a sort of adventure game in this floating fort, and I also like the elevator a lot (or isn't it an elevator?) I'd like to see a fight between this one and the star wars version (though it's quite obvious who will win) Good job (and a pirate version would also be nice )
