  1. First a disclaimer, I'm very new to the SW Lego world. The UCS sets are pricey, but as instantly recognisable display sets can't be beat. The Imperial Shuttle (retired, but I think it still can be found at a reasonable price) is my favourite. IMO the best designed ship in the SW universe. Both the Super Star Destroyer & Death Star are also great sets that have been around a while and might retire in the not so distant future. Battle of Endor is another set many rave about, but unfortunately it is retired. Among the smaller current sets I like the Desert Skiff, it's nice and has some key figures. The Endor BP is pretty good too, as well as the current X-Wing and Tie Fighter. There are so many SW sets that I would probably recommend just sticking with the OT if that is where your heart is.
  2. "This is LegoFjotten reporting in. We have received a communication from a team of Cloud City guards leading a group of civilians to the evacuation shuttles. Be prepared to hold your fire once the remaining Stormtroopers have been taken care of. Over and out." http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=86223
  3. Another update, added first interior shot. Lobot and a trio of Cloud City guards are about to ambush the Stormtroopers, and lead the civilians to the evacuation shuttles.
  4. I ordered the Ewok Village today too, my order also says customer service. Hmpf!
  5. The Planet sets are available in the Norwegian S@H.
  6. My wonderfully flawed method at the moment: whenever I run out of room for a certain type I put the rest in a plastic bag which goes into a "refill" box. When needed, I refill the sorting cabinet from the plastic bags.
  7. Wow! Another fantastic moc Lobot! Love it all, greebling, the scene, the grilles work great for the floor! And of course the photo is superb...
  8. Thanks! ...and I've updated again with a different camera angle, think this one is a bit more flattering.
  9. Uploaded another test shot (see edited first post). I've hinged together the two buildings, and expanded them a bit. Also replaced one of the white platform with a light gray one, and added a small dark gray base to the buildings just to separate them from the white backdrop. Started work on the interior as well (no photos yet, sorry). I'm considering replacing the Ant Eater with another smaller shuttle more in a more recognisable SW style. Opinions on that? I will definitely work more on the presentation, I am not happy with the angle / composition of the shot nor the lighting. C & C most welcome, the deadline is still weeks away!
  10. Every time I look at this I discover new details...
  11. Thanks for the comments MstrOfPppts, your input is always constructive & helpful! I'll play around a bit with combining the buildings and/or fleshing them out a bit. Gotta be a bit careful size wise though, I'm pretty close to the limit. The Ant Eater was built without looking at anything specific, just the basic idea of long wingless design à la the Tantive IV, and open sides like the Republic Gunship. I opened a Tantive IV set and constrained myself to those pieces.
  12. A couple more Endor battlepacks, the newest Battle of Hoth set, the planet set with Lobot, a bunch of (used) older Hoth sets, UCS Tantive IV. Just a few more days and I will order the Ewok Village as well, just waiting for the September freebies in S@H. :)
  13. Excellent junkyard feeling! Good work!
  14. Nice! I like it, very sleek.
  15. Thanks for the comments so far guys, I just added a bunch of Ant Eater shots, take a look. Brickdoctor: Yeah, I know about the white overload, got a Bricklink order on the way with various gray parts that might work better for the platforms.
  16. (This is a continuation of my free build story, see earlier builds for full story) Almost there - http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85637 An ounce of prevention - http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85976 Sabotage - http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=86135 [soNE Ep.I] A long way down... We'd barely gotten out of the hangar in one piece. For each Stormtrooper we put down, two more seemed to appear. As we were falling back we ran into another squad of Stormtroopers, cutting off our escape route. Our only choice was to take our chances out on one of the landing platforms, hoping it had a ship we could use. Just as we exited the door to the landing platform, Jackson took a hit to the leg. I quickly grabbed him by the collar and pulled him with me as he was frantically shooting at the Stormtroopers. To make matters worse, Stormtroopers started pouring out on an adjacent landing platform. They had both advantage in numbers and the higher ground. Before long we found ourselves at the end of an empty platform with nowhere to go, and a long way down... Just as we were about to give up we heard a familiar sound, as an "Ant Eater" and a small Rebel speeder swooped around the building, catching the exposed Stormtroopers in crossfire. The situation was turned around within seconds. The remaining Stormtroopers tried to fall back, only to be met by a team of Cloud City guards lead by Lobot. Lobot and his team had lead a group of civilians towards the landing platforms hoping to find a way off Cloud City, and their timing had been perfect. As we loaded the civilians aboard the Ant Eater we got word that the Millennium Falcon had been spotted taken off with Princess Leia aboard. Maybe this mission we would be a success after all! Main shot (edited) Interior Ant Eater Although the Ant Eater is more well armoured than well armed, the quick rate of the quad lasers are ideal for clearing drop zones of ground troops before deploying it's own cargo. Rebel Speeder Edit: Updated with close to complete shots (maybe!). Not sure about the gradient in the main picture though.
  17. I like the Boushh head too! Может быть, вы хотели бы присоединиться к Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka?
  18. Thanks for the comments all! I agree the white walls might not be the natural choice for a hangar. I initially had a wall with large windows separating the hangar from the white area, but I didn't like how it look so I removed it but left the white walls in place.
  19. Wow, what an epic first post! Excellent moc! So many details! I like the use of the planet piece for the top of the tower
  20. Covi: Any of these should work, you have an avatar at Eurobricks too, maybe better to use that one? http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/uploads/profile/photo-thumb-65126.jpg?_r=1375905418 http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2823/9461414296_6332c4b811_o.jpg
  21. The stairs are so simple I don't think it qualifies as a technique, this is how it's built: Would probably look better with regular 1x1 white plates instead of the black round ones though...
  22. *Brrrzzt* "LegoFjotten reporting in. We have completed our mission, the control room in our target sector is disabled, and TIE fighter squadron has been neutralized except for three bogeys already airborne. We are under heavy fire and falling back towards landing platform 137. I repeat...". *Brrrzzztt! Sqk!". The transmission is cut off leaving only... silence.
  23. Thanks for the advice Brickdoctor! I totally plagiarised drew some inspiration from your SNOTed base, and it made a world of difference... Did a few small tweaks to the doorways which helped a bit too. Unfortunately I don't have what I need to make a bigger change and change the angle of the wall, but that is a good idea, I'll keep that in mind for my next squarish moc! :D
