  1. Thank you for the kind comments!
  2. Thank's a bunch! That should get me started.
  3. This is my third Ep 1 free build, to get the complete story check these out first: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85637 http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85976 It didn't take us long to find them. The Imperial Forces had hidden their TIE fighters in the one of the Cloud City service hangars.Out of sight but still ready to be deployed at a moments notice. We'd seen 3 fighters take off as we were approaching, but if we could put the remaining 5 out of commission our evacuation shuttles could hopefully approach without being blown to bits. "Prepare your thermal detonator" Sgt. Logan told me. He placed his detonator on the fuelling station, and I quickly followed suit. The resulting explosion would blow out the entire hangar and send what was left of the TIE's plummeting towards Bespin. As we were about to head out, both the doors to the hangar slid open. I saw their white boots even before the door was open: Stormtroopers. "Braze yourselves" Sgt. Logan yelled, "We're gonna have to shoot our way out!". The sneaking part of the mission was definitely over... Some detail shots: And a bonus shot of the greebling: Original image here: http://farm4.staticf...73b657908_c.jpg C&C welcome! I must admit I was not very inspired while building this, feels a bit square and boring to me (or am I just bored of my own ideas? ). There are a few things I know I need to do: - Build a foundation or something so the bottom shadow is eliminated - Move the Endor rebel by the stairs a bit so he's not blocking the only thing that's not square in the MOC - Maybe change the color of the thingamabob in the botom left corner to break things up a bit - Maybe adjust the camera angle a bit, a little higher so the walkway is more visible. Edit: Updated MOC, added a few more photos. Ready to be scored!
  4. How did you light this? The lighting is superb and really brings the scene to life. I have a lot to learn...
  5. Wow that is fantastic! Excuse me while I pick my jaw up from the floor and think of something to say...
  6. Great build! I like the setting, a nice change of pace from the cloud city interior and hallways!
  7. Aaww crap, I was waiting with my Ewok Village purchase because of the September freebies... now it's down to just the mini camper van.
  8. I didn't notice all the details behind the bar until Brickdoctor pointed it out, stellar stuff! Gotta get my eyes checked...
  9. Yes, it is Cloud City. It is a continuation from my first build, I should have included a link to the first part of the story which establishes the setting: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=85637 Feel free to use whatever techniques you want, I'm a rookie myself so I borrow ideas all the time!
  10. Nice build! I like the curve with the stacked plates and the doorway. And you can never go wrong with a pole dancer...
  11. Very nice MOC, well done!
  12. That is brilliant!
  13. Nice scene, and nice Headhunter! Agree about the colors being a little busy though. What if you just try to replace one red element on the nose with white or grey, and one or two of the red stripes on the wings with white? I think that should tone it done nicely.
  14. Nice! It looks a lot better without the baseplate! The new arrangements of the buildings works much better in building a scene too!
  15. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions guys, posted some updated photos. I already thought about adding 1x1 DBG plates under the dementor legs, but I didn't have enough unfortunately, tried with LBG plates which I think looked a little better than the original version. Hmm, now that I look at the pictures the details of the roof are hard to make out, there is another big window on there that is a little hard to see. Maybe I'll add one more picture. Oh, and I'm ready to be scored!
  16. Thanks for the comments all! I had a roof on there initially, but it was so ugly I took it off! The chin straps are just laziness, next version will have new heads for the troopers. Will give the roof another go and see if I can work something out. It's the rounded ends that give me trouble since I don't have a lot of rounded parts that can finish it off smoothly.
  17. Very nice work! The liquid & jamming device are my faves.
  18. Link to the first part of the story: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=85637 Barely a minute had passed since I climbed out of the maintenance tunnel and into a small utility room before the rest of the team caught up. First up was Jackson, a scary looking Rebel Commando. He was followed by Sgt. Logan, who was our squad leader for the mission. My friend Jak was the last one, he was even more of a rookie than me. "This is is it.", Logan said, "If we pull this off, we might have a chance of getting those civilians out of here alive. We have small window of opportunity, and it is closing fast, so let's get a move on!" We moved along the corridor as quickly and quietly as we could. Logan had instructed me & Jak to ditch our helmets, "The last thing I want is for one of you rookies to bang your head in a doorway and give us away before we are in position" he said. "Yeah, right" I thought to myself, "Only Imperial Stormtroopers are that dumb." Jackson had already taken out the first Stormtrooper without making a sound when I rounded the next corner. He motioned me to follow him and take up position at the door to the guard room while he scouted ahead. Logan & Jak headed up the stairs towards the control room. Just a short moment later I heard the lock on the guard room engage. Whew! That meant Logan & Jak had taken control of the control room and had remotely locked down the guard room. With the control room out of commission we had created a small blind spot so the larger evacution shuttles could approach unnoticed. We knew it wouldn't last long, but at least we had bought ourselves some time for the next part of our mission... C&C welcome! Edit: Added updated pictures, originals can be found here: http://farm4.staticf...db542955d_c.jpg http://farm8.staticf...614ab3fe8_c.jpg Edit 2: Added a link to the start of the story.
  19. A few questions about photos. I read the rules about allowing one edited shot. If I photograph my MOC with for example a blue background, is that ok as long as I don't do any actual editing? What about lights, is using small led lights for mood lighting allowed? I'm guessing integrated lights like Lifelites are not allowed since they are not purist? Could they be used in the effects shot as opposed to trying to add the same effect digitally and then removed (or switched off if they are completely hidden) for the other shots?
  20. I am so getting this... only question is, do I buy it now, or wait for next months Lego Shop freebies?
  21. Oooohh blogged! Nice!
  22. Fantastic work!
  23. Oh well, at least I won't be spending a lot of money on this wave. I thought the DS battle pack would be a home run for OT fans regardless of which mix of figures they put in it, but they proved me wrong.
  24. Awesome work again! Love the SNOT work and details.
  25. Great moc! Excellent platform & ship, who's that double gun wielding rebel? :D
