  1. My version of the VW bus can fit one minifig :) Another version: you can buy or download the 1st one here: http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...b6-bdd0725ac5e3
  2. I forgot to tell that every car fits one minifig :)
  3. Using LDD I did six different police cars from several countries: due to the limitations of the brick palette, colors are not always accurate, but I think they are nice :) If someone is interested to buy them... :) http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...46-d88851d613cc Hope you like :)
  4. Here's my bakery :) http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...6b-e7ad97485c9c
  5. I've had multiple "dark ages", mostly because I was interested in other hobbies or because I lived in different places where I couldn't keep or collect Lego. I finished buying Lego sets (mostly space sets) in 1982, when I was 14, but in the same time I started to buy town sets for collecting purpouses... I had recurring periods of renewed interest when I was 17, when I was 21 and more recently in 1997, when I discovered the AFOL community on the internet: during all those periods I bought some town sets, mostly small, and I built a small diorama, but basically I didn't had the money to spend for this hobby, and I was ashamed to show the new sets to my parents. But after 2004 I've gained economic indipendence, so I can buy more sets than ever, and after I've discovered the AFOL community I'm not ashamed anymore to show my town diorama :)
  6. Thank you Widdi for your preference :) I'm putting new galleries on Flickr and Maj, and there is still my MOCpages gallery: http://www.flickr.com/photos/salvobrick http://www.maj.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=legomaneitaliano http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/1321
  7. I'm not sure if LDD creations are okay, but I want to share some police cars of various countries of the world I did recently: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...police_cars.jpg Some of the colors are incorrect, due to the limitations of LDD, but I think they are nice :-)
  8. Here it is :-) http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...f2-f1b57aa27838 Uh, it has been featured in the "cool creations" gallery... ;-)
  9. Thank you :-) Anyway, the city block is finished. Here there are 2 alternative versions: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...citycorner6.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...citycorner7.jpg It's entirely designed with LDD 2.0 and it costs... 509 euro! :-D
  10. My city block is still growing... :-) http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...citycorner4.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...citycorner5.jpg As usual, everything is with open back :-)
  11. Okay, here's a road made of some of my LDD creations: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...citycorner3.jpg Can you believe all of them are with open back? :-)
  12. I like both: the new realistic buildings are very nice, but only if you make a whole diorama with those buildings with 4 walls and such. Personally I also like the old-style buildings, with open rear and 4-wide cars: my town is made in that style, but I like to "enrich" it with more details and more realistic proportions: so I prefer 8 or 10 studs deep buildings instead of 6-deep like the old ones, with more details and more walls compared with many official sets, but always with open rear (and 4-wide cars ;-) )
  13. Some of the ideas you've talked about can be seen in my LDD gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=203418 particularly: a post office: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane.../postoffice.jpg a school: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane.../LDD/school.jpg a bus: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...DD/urbanbus.jpg a supermarket: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...supermarket.jpg some houses: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...LDD/houses1.jpg and if you are not satisfied of the official sets a garbage truck and a service station :-) http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...arbagetruck.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...vicestation.jpg You can download the LDD files for most of them from the Lego Factory website, just look for user "salvobrick"
  14. Thank you for taking my LDD creations as samples of "classic town" creations :-) Infact this is my favourite style: my current layour is with 4-wide cars and 6-wide trucks, and buildings with open back (like almost all my LDD creations)
  15. 8-wide trucks are _too_big_ for roadplates... I bought the 7900 "heavy loader" truck and... it's too big for a normal road. So, I've recycled the pieces to build a 6-wide truck. On the other hand, I have build some 6-wide cars... but those are _vintage_ cars, form a time when cars were bigger than now. 5-wide cars are fine in most cases, and you can get excellent and realistic results like this one (Citroen DS) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=235435 And I will remain a fan of 4-wide cars because, in the best diorama I've ever seen, cars are 4-wide :-D http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=239091 (Ulimy's diorama)
  16. 4-wide cars forever! 5-wide for vintage cars or SUVs, 6-wide for trucks or large vans. 6-wide cars are too big and requires more bricks to be built. Yes, I'm a traditionalist, and I'm proud of this! :-)
  17. I'm a fan of 4-wide cars and 6-wide trucks, so? That's the reason I don't like very much the new buildings (corner cafe and market street), infact I did my own version of a corner cafe: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane.../cornercafe.jpg and here's a whole streer done assembling some of my LDD creations: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...reetcorner1.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legomane...reercorner2.jpg If someone is interested, I can upload all the models on my Lego Factory gallery. Not to mention that building a whole city with the new size standards would require mooore bricks and mooore money...
  18. Another one: http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...fe-e591662d671e BTW, has anyone noticed that the LDD bricks palette has been enlarged with all the bricks of the 10190 Market street? :-)
  19. Another Corner Cafe addition: http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...b5-2de4d4c610bf
  20. I did an extension with LDD 2.0 and uploaded on Lego Factory: http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...ef-3b72071ce86a More to come soon :)
  21. Here there are the remakes of some old sets: http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...33-d9102882dc20 Remake of the 4554 station http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...ef-8f773e121fa0 Remake of the old promotional set 1620
  22. I did some replicas of old sets with LDD 1.6: I'll put online the updated version when I'll finish the conversion to LDD 2.0
  23. UPDATE: I've downloaded the latest version of Quicktime from the Apple web site, and after I've updated it, LDD 2.0 works perfectly! :-)
  24. I've tried to update the graphic card drivers, I've downloaded LDD 2.0 again but... nothing! It still continues to "hang" the computer (100% CPU usage and such). I don't care if the graphics card is old: I'm not interested in video games and my computer is only 2 years old, I don't want to buy a new one only to run LDD 2.0. Since it appears that I'm not the only one with this problem, I hope that TLG releases soon a patch or a new version (2.1)
  25. For me, LDD 2.0 is not up nor running... I have a Athlon 64 3200+, 1 Gb ram and a graphic card Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 with 128 Mb ram. The program is extremely slow, CPU usage goes to 100% and I can't even move the palettes, menus, etc. It's like frozen. If I try to close the program, it "hangs" (hourglass cursor) and after a few minutes crashes. LDD 1.6 worked fine for me, and I've ordered a few creations in the last months... It's useless to say that I'm VERY disappointed... >:-( >:-( >:-(
