  1. It's great seeing more people putting together my minifig-scale B-Wing design - with Krispy's excellent instructions! Flash - Great looking model! Interesting using blue instead of sand blue - looks neat! I have some improvements in mind to my original design which I need to test out. Also planning to extend my squadron with some new variations. Can't wait for the new B-wing pilot minifig! Additionally putting together something to keep all my starfighters together which is using an awful lot of bricks... http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=418696
  2. Wow Krispy! Fantastic job deciphering our model from those tiny old Brickshelf pics (my older brother did the bulk of build, I cracked the internal skeleton and built the primary wing and weapons pod). When I finally got hold of the Mustafar version of the Jedi starfighter, I started converting the cockpit to light grey, it makes a huge improvement - shame the official UCS B-wing bubble cockpit is translucent at the back, otherwise it would be the best available cockpit piece instead. Nice solution to the rear of the cockpit btw, never liked having to rely on rubber bands myself - will fish out the octagonal clip from my storage bins and have a go! Also, if anyone struggles to get certain parts in sand blue/grey, you can always build a different squadron B-wing! Never realised it would be that expensive to build from scratch from Bricklink however
  3. Whoa, I'd completely forgotten that my brother made that other account and posted some of the instructions before he gave up. Saw this post got bumped and thought I'd better finish the job. I still need to re-do the instructions for the weapons pod, S-foils and cockpit - the old ones are on my old Brickshelf account. So here are the brand new in-progress B-wing instructions! I'm also planning a parts list at some point. Krispy - where on earth did that LDD file come about from, it's awesome! (I've no experience at the program myself)
  4. I found this marine helmet variant/defect? recently with a pointed chin area, 'Y' marking on the top and the two cut-out areas. It doesn't wear well on minifigs due to the head stud being visible underneath, might pop an email to TLC to get a proper helmet - gotta build up my classic space forces!
  5. I find it amusing that they've gone for the jedi starfighter cockpit piece - the same one I used to achieve a 6-stud wide cockpit on my minifig scale B-wing! At least I'll be able to use the UCS one in mine now and build the cockpit properly in light gray.
  6. Thanks for the comments everyone! I've reworked the underside to be more accurate whilst making the gun removable and replacing the stand with a technic axle. He's just the original 4477 pilot with a flesh head.
  7. I came up with the basic construction for this T-16 years ago but never refined it until recently when Brickdoctor's version stirred my interest in it again. I'm now very happy with its stability and swooshableness! The light cannon can have a stack of translucent 2x2 round bricks attached to make a display stand. Due to the angled construction of the hull, it was fun trying to block up all the areas around the engine with greeblies! I managed to cram both a seat and control column into the cockpit. I may replace the 2x4 red tiles with custom stickers over the 4x6 modified plates. A Tatooine skyhopper jockey returns home after a hard days work racing through Beggar's Canyon.
  8. Awww, the little ARF trooper has his own S@H page.
  9. Hmm, converting the South African prices gives roughly these UK prices: 7956 Ewok Attack £22 7957 Dathomir Speeder £22 7959 Geonosian Starfighter £30 7961 Sith Infiltrator £50 7962 Podracers £70 7964 Republic Frigate £100 7965 Millennium Falcon £110 I just want a heap of Falcons so I can build a bunch of Corellian light freighters, especially a proper YT-2000!
  10. Arealight's wins hands down for me. Strangely Arealight's version has a more traditional lego minifig face compared to the horrible Clone Wars face on the TLG version. I'll admit the torso priniting and lekku are slightly better on the TLG version, but I really have an issue with the Clone Wars face prints.
  11. Yeah, it's really hard to find any images of the ILM model from the '97 special editions. If it's any help, the X-wing alliance upgrade project have some screenshots on their homepage that should be close to the actual blueprints: 01 02 03
  12. Thanks for the comments everyone! The blaster cannons on the wings do flip up, I just forgot to do so when taking the photos. I've had a go at changing parts on the main fuselage to Tile, Modified 4 x 4 with Studs on Edge to balance up the studs on the wings with smooth parts - I'll put some pics online later. My poor ARC-170 has been striped of 2x4 tiles! Dimensions are as follows: Length: 41 studs Width: 25 studs (wings up), 70 studs (wings down) Height: 41 studs (wings up, landing gear +5), 64 studs (wings down)
  13. Hey, I just noticed that the Luke minifig in the new AT-AT set has new printing on his flight helmet similar to Wedge's from a few years back and more recently Zev.
  14. Yo everyone! Back when the pics for City Corner appeared I wanted to use the 6x1 windscreen as the starting point for a minifig-scale shuttle, but Rufus beat me to it! When I first caught the rumor of a 2500px shuttle I was so certain it would be a version like mine with a large landing pad (probably hoping it wouldn't replace all my work), boy did I get a surprise when that pic leaked out! However, the lack of features on that monster spurred me on to put more into mine. So here is my 99% complete version featuring a completely sealed cockpit with console (had to sacrifice the 2nd pilot to do it though), flush boarding ramp that opens into the passenger bay for eight minifigs, folding wings, landing gear that has to be fitted onto the model and a rotating rear cannon. The (beamless) main wing is actually stable enough to swoosh the shuttle around, just don't tip it to either side! And thanks to Rufus for the cockpit shell design! Link to Flickr gallery So what do you all think? I'd imagine some people might want a more affordable shuttle than the one TLC has revealed, though I still need to do a piece count to see what it came to.
  15. I've been meaning to mod the deployment rack on mine since I picked up the MTT, it's just gathering dust at the moment! A great mod, simple and elegant!
  16. Thanks for the heads up Andy, I managed to pick up two Claw diggers in store at lunch!
  17. Thanks for the comments guys I designed the Y-Wing pilot torso - Kaminoan kindly did the excellent decal printing. Interestingly, the A-Wing is in scale if you follow the official length of 9.6m. RC
  18. Thanks for the comments guys I built the Y-Wing at the weekend and then put together this quick diorama. If you look closely you can see one of the Grey Y-Wing pilots from ROTJ... Unfortunately, I couldn't fit my A-Wing into the diorama. RC
  19. Hi guys, My mini-fig scale B-Wing is now 99.7% complete (waiting for a few sand blue 6 x 1 slopes). I threw this little diorama together today. The Y-Wing is based on Flail's design, with a few of my own modifcations. This starfighters are all to scale. Enjoy :D http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/008.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/009.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/011.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/014.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/015.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/018.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/023.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/025.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/026.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/027.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/028.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Renegade...-Hangar/030.jpg Folder when public
  20. LEGO Indiana Jones Catalogue Scan Found this at JWfan while reading about Spielberg making sure the dude who leaked the IndyIV film spoilers never works again :-D
  21. I find it funny that everybody seems to have momentarily forgotten about the upcoming 2008 Death Star (playset?) and General Grievous model that were found on the service section of LEGO.com. Given the fact that there is no set ranking above the Rogue Shadow in terms of size (the AT-AT is an exclusive remember) the DS will probably fit that gap of
  22. Notice the text beneath the AT-AP box? "Expanding the LEGO Star Wars Universe" ...A hint of things to come?!? Shame that the Rebel fleet troopers look likely have printed straps on peach heads, but to be honest if they were yellow heads with straps then you'd be stuck with the same face for all of them. Better to have a wide selection of yellow heads for them I say! Like my little gang of Echo troopers! I hope they don't have peach on the torso's. I've noticed how TLC has avoided this on many figures since the change, probably to preserve interchanging those torsos between licenses and official ranges. I can't quite tell how the hailfire's wheels are designed, but if they are comprised of multiple treads then it may be possible to create bigger wheels for a larger hailfire droid!
  23. Shame, I really liked the idea of a mountain of these in my TRU cart... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=274862
  24. I have the exact same problem! Two copies of the 2/2 manual bought from TRU aberdeen! Managed to build some of it until LEGO sends me the manual and maybe Qui-Gon's head. I also replaced the Republic Judicials DkBlue trousers with blue ones and gave them blue kepis.
  25. Sounds like a decent enough set, I'll pick it up when my local TRU stocks it. They already have the Radiant VII on the shelves anyway (except the set came with 2x 2/2 instruction manuals and the aforementioned obi-wan head!) Plus this is the last of the new 07' line up that I need! *sweet*
