What is wrong with Beorn's hair? It looks cool! But what I was hoping to see, was a Beorn in bear form, and indeed the armored elves.

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

That sounds promising! 35 pounds, that is about 16 kilos? That is quite heavy, so I suppose it is really big! -

Yeah, quality is very important. I think I will make a MOC directly when I know on wich side I fight, and then don't do anything with it for a week orso, and then see if I still like it. If not, I change some things and then you can all enjoy it, atleast I hope so. How do you do that? I can make a WIP thread for suggestions, but I don't really like that. -
Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Alfadas replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Indeed it is! Thanks, and I am sorry for being a bit rude. As said, I have some nice ideas for the figs (not telling yet!). I have quite a few orcs and skelletons, but for the rest I am not telling a thing, see it as a surprise. Can't wait to see some builds and figs others have come up with. If I am correct, you can start building from 1st of November, that being the date of wich you are assigned on wich you are fighting. Is that true? -
Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Alfadas replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks, I will look at them. Basicly, every fig I want to include (medieval time, not city minifigs) is good, from orcs to elves and minotaurs? Awesome, this has given me some cool ideas. Can't wait to hear on what side I will "fight". But should my sigfig be included somehow? -
Thanks! I thought of smaller dioramas, but for the AoM challenges you need quite a big base plate to include all thing that are required. But for free-builds, I can go smaller. 8x8 is for me way to small. 16x16 or 20x20 is better for me, so I can make a nice layout with quite a lot of figs. The technics Derfel Cardan uses are great to look at, but you need indeed truckloads of bricks for them. I do have a quite large collection, but I don't use that for MOCs, I only use spareparts and loose bricks. You can check my collection here. I have nice parts, and pretty much, but as said, I don't use them in MOCs. Maybe I should do that. Thanks again, I will think of this with future MOCs!

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Yeah, that isn't really helpful. I don't want to make a MOC with orcs when there need to be zombies, as an example. So, what should the figs look like? -

I signed up, don't know for wich side yet. Do I get a PM 1st November? Or is it posted in the thread? And how do the figs have to look? What kind of uniform should they have? I don't want to look stupid in front of all those not-Mitgardians. -
Thanks both of you, especially that guide is really useful, thanks! But Legonardo, what do you mean with 5*6 and 4*3 leaf stems? These things?

Hi all, I need help with MOCs. I recently made a MOC, and got the comment that it was to empty. I just had a 32x32 green plate, on wich I made my MOC. I put some green and brown cheese slopes on it, and some plants. What plants are good for MOCing? I just have these plants, but I am sure there are better plants than these. I also got the advice that I need difference in heights. What parts are best for it? I have a few green 2x6 flats, but there are way better parts for it, but what are they? Please help!

RESULTS INCLUDED: Book II- Challenge 1- The Battle for Nocturnus.
Alfadas replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Well, I guess I have to join, so sign me up! -
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I built both at once. Next time I will indeed only make one MOC at the time. In the phase ll those bricks are indeed supposed to be walls, sort of a ruin of a small house. I know my photography skills are not good, I really need to improve that. I don't think I will make other MOCs for AoM, I am going to focus on school and the challenges for GoH.

Do we know the prices for these beauties in euros? I need to know how many I need to save, before I spend it all on lose parts.

Thanks! I use the back of a poster as background, but maybe a sheet is better indeed. As for the pics, I can go outside, good idea for the next MOC! As I took photos inside, the light wasn't that good. Next MOC will be better photographed. As for point 4, I know that there are a lot of empty spots. I just don't have that much pieces that can make the build higher in some parts. I only have 3 green flats, 2x6, and a few of those cheeseslopes. I am currently saving money for pieces (and the new The Hobbit sets, they are amazing!) that can make parts higher then the rest. I do have around 20-30 more of those green plant parts, with the 3 leafs. I do not consider myself as a good builder, I hope to get better. But for that I need a lot more parts and more experience. Thanks for the feedback, and I will use it in coming MOCs.

Age of Mitgardia (free-build-challenge)
Alfadas replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice build! If I am correct you need to complete all sub categories to get the badge. If you complete one sub categorie, you get a title. -
AWESOME!!! These pics are great!!! But, why do some orcs have urukhai swords? I like the old, fantasy era orcsword better for these orcs. But I do like that we get 6 of them this wave! And Azog, he looks great! Not really happy about the necromancer though. He looks like a ghost orsomething. Radagast is ever better then I could imagine, he looks totally awesome! I am atleast going to buy the both dol guldur sets, and maybe the mirkwood elf army. I am not sure about that lake town set.

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Alfadas replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
I, Alfadas Mandredson, offers his sword to Mitgardia, to fight every crime, enemy or monster I will ever come across. Short story: I was born long ago, my father was an elf, my mother was a human. My father was killed by orcs, my mother died a long time ago, she was just really old. I killed the entire tribe that was responsible for the dead of my father, even the younglings. I am not proud of that, but I had to. Not long ago, maybe a few months, other tribes killed most of the citizens of the small town I grew up in. I travel with 9 of my friends to fight every orc we see, and we take every job we can, no matter how dirty it is. We do everything for a little bit of food, and a place indoors to sleep. Now that we offered our swords and other weapons to Mitgardia, we hope that times will change, that we can finally settle down to create a new city. This is me. http://www.flickr.com/photos/100509226@N08/10358038003/in/set-72157636710844736 This is me with my army. http://www.flickr.com/photos/100509226@N08/sets/72157636710844736/ -

So I posted my Phase l archery, and I got my phase lll archery ready, really proud of it, but do I have to post a phase ll archery first? I have a phase ll archery, but it is not good compared to phase lll. -
Is there a brown Warg in that Elf army set?? if yes, I am surely buying that one!! And the orcs seem to have a new torso, not sure though. It seems more metally, if there is more armor printed on. So, I am happy the pics are out, I wish they weren't this blurry. But the sets are cool, as far as I can tell by these pics.

Can I still sign up, or is it too late? I really would like to join, this time to build things, not only to watch. -
Hi all, this is my first MOC that I post online. I am not good at photographing, and the camera isn't that good either. But here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/100509226@N08/sets/72157636649754495/ I hope you like it!
