Age of Mitgardia (free-build-challenge)
Alfadas replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Gatehouse Phase ll -
Good news. After the orc attack, we (Björn and Ulrich) decided to set aside the beer and start making a better gate, to keep Mitgardia save. After a few weeks of cutting down trees and building a gate, they still were not satisfied. They decided to rest a week, drink some beer (Björn insisted to empty the barrels), and then start to make a gate with stone, and ask for archers. We need to protect the farmers from the orcs. We don't see many people, just farmers working on the frozen lands, preparing for next spring. "Hello good men, we come from Avalonia, and wish to proceed", a soldier in full plate armor says. He has a companion that looks the same. They look like Avalonian knights, but there is something odd. They speak with a weird accent. Also, their weapons are weird. A crossbow, a horn clearly of orcish design, a small metal shield and axe. "Well, I can't let you pass if you don't take of your helmet, so we can see you are real Avalonian knights." With that, the Orcs attack. I can dodge a crossbow bolt, and I jam my spear in his stomach. With normal soldiers, that would be a lethal wound. With full plate, nothing happens. Fighting full plate armor with a spear is not easy. I hear Björn on the gate curse. He jumps on top of the axe soldier, grabs the helmet and jams his spear in one of the eyes. The orc is dead instantly. Meanwhile I am still trying to kill the other orc. He manages to shoot another bolt, which lands in my spear arm. I know if Björn doesn't help me, I am dead. I hear him curse some more. He runs towards the orc, pulls the helmet off and jams his spear in the mouth of the orc. He is also dead. Now I can't fight anymore, my speararm is useless. Everything turns black, as I feel the live slip out of me. Filthy poisoned orc bolts. Shot of the gate with the orcs attacking. Backside of the gate. Well, that's it. My phase ll gatehouse. Hope you like it! C&C welcome!

Nice work! Like the chocolate ice thing trees. And three barrels only? Nice roof technique.

Alfadas replied to Alfadas's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks! As I already said, I have troubles with getting the light right, I don't really have anything to light the MOC evenly. But I will try to take pics with more sunlight. Or putting on the big light in the room. Hope that works.- 13 replies

My Inn phase l. And Gatehouse phase l. -
Finally! We have enough money to buy a cart, and start selling ale! Maybe, if the sales are very good, we can buy a real inn. "He Hjalmar! We need to get moving! The ale doesn't sell itself!" "One moment Knut, I'm coming!" My little brother, Knut is very impatient when it comes to money. I whisper something in the horses ear, and it starts walking. Slowly to not shake the ale too violently we start moving. To the horizon, selling ale! After half a day of walking, sometimes selling a cup of ale (or two) to some nice looking farmers. Knut says: "I am thirsty, let's rest a bit and drink some ale." He sits down and starts drinking. Who cares? We are free! We can do whatever we want! I join him and drink some nice ale. Hjalmar and Knut, traveling over a snowy road. And here are the two lucky brothers, drinking ale and enjoying life. My entry to the Inn phase l. Hope you like it, C&C welcome! (And can someone say what C&C stands for?)

Here we are. In the cold, cold winter night. We are guarding a smugglers route, that has been discovered last month. We, Björn and I, Ulrich, are standing here for almost a week now. So far we saw no smugglers. Didn't think we'd see any. They will just use another route. Mark my words. And it is cold here. It is middle winter now. Avalonian smugglers will stay inside. I look at Björn. He needs to drink less. Since we got here, he hasn't been sober. "He, Ulrich! Want (hic) some beer? (hic). That will defrost (hic) your fingers." "Quiet! I heard something." I say. "yeah, my (hic) stomach. It has not(hic)hing to eat." "Just shut up! I heard something!" There it is again. Some creature is moving through the snow. Is it a smuggler? No! It is an orc! "Grab your spear Björn! We are under attack!" I hear a snoring sound. Of course. When I need him, he is asleep. Great. I hide behind a large rock. I see nothing. There! The moon shines on a dark figure, moving towards Björn. I jump on the rock and let my spear land in the head of the orc. I hear a nice splashing sound. Excellent. One down. Is that it? Will there be more? It seems quiet now. Alright. Need to be careful here. A pic of Björn drinking, an orc attacking and Ulrich jamming a spear in the orc's head. I now see it looks like the orc has his axe in a weird grip, it is just a double bladed war axe. And here is a pic of the gate. More of a roadblock, but as it is only a Phase l, I think it is enough. Next phases will be much more gate like. That's it, the Phase l gatehouse entry. Hope you like it, C&C welcome.

Looks nice! Like the water, looks pretty realistic to me. And the tower looks cool with the different colours. Nicely done!

AoM Store Phase 2 - Diamonds are a Girl`s Best Friend
Alfadas replied to Tomsche's topic in Guilds of Historica
Iooks nice, but it doesn't really feel Mitgardian. I think the grass is too bright for that. Maybe try some darker greens and/or snow. And mud of course. But the overall design is nice! -
Age of Mitgardia (free-build-challenge)
Alfadas replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
O sorry. It doesn't really matter, as long as we are having fun! Ofcourse it would be nice to get an update, lets say, every 2 weeks, to keep it up to date. Anyway, I should get building for it. Really want that tag! -
Looks good! Like the arrow slits, and the curves at the top of the wall. Like the look of the gate. Excellent work.

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Alfadas replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
@Behemoth: Soon. I hope. I don't know anything about when it starts, but it's got to be sometime soon. Maybe tomorrow, maybe 3 weeks, who knows? Just keep patient. -
Please, the non-licensed need to stay the old normal yellow. That's the old, loved, and most recognizable for everybody. I don't care, I actually encourage more fleshies but ONLY in licensed sets. Normal sets should have only yellow. Maybe city could have other colors, but please, please stay away from historic themes.

Anyone getting lots of Lego Ideas followers lately?
Alfadas replied to Zerobricks's topic in Community
Nope. Maybe if l make some builds to post there I will. Now that I am just supporting, no followers. -

Alfadas replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Now to get the rest of the phases Anyway, congratz. You seem to be the first to actually make all the phase l builds. -
Nice build. One point of improvement (I know this is Phase l, and I know the other 2 phases don't have carts in them) is to make the cart a bit wider. This one looks very thin. Not in proportion. But it is better then I can do. So, do with this advice what you want. Anyway, Nice work!

Nice MOC! I agree with Scaevola, some more foilage would be nice. Or none at all, with a lot of snow. But it still looks great! Keep m coming!

Cleaning Lego
Alfadas replied to keroro's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Just soak them over night. In warm (NOT BOILING) with soap. Or Dreft? I don't know if that's available in Italy? But just use some fat removable soap. Soaking is the only option when you can't clean them.
