  1. Well, I was thinking that we, as the fans, could do that ourselves. Like the unofficial 2010 thread we had a while back, but with actual sets to back it up.
  2. If that's true, then it's totally awesome. Someone ask Greg about that, because if they actually became 'brothers' (in the traditional BIONICLE sense) then it would be so cool. The revelation that Makuta was so much lower than Mata Nui was one of the things I hated most about BIONICLE's recent story.
  3. Um, you just answered your own question . . . Link, just in case you couldn't find it.
  4. Well in my opinion, I get nostalgia because it's LEGO-created nostalgia. Any fan can make a revamped Tahu MOC or draw Tahu in his iconic pose, but when it's actually an officially made set it has a different feel to it than some fan drawing or making one. Maybe that only applies for my feeling of 'nostalgia', though, so make of others opinions what you will.
  5. It's not really the nostalgia or finality of these sets that reels me in, it's the fact that these are really good sets. At least in my opinion. But I am apparently the only person here who likes the Av-Matoran design, so . . .
  6. After looking through every store in my town that sells LEGO stuff, I finally found the Stars at Wal*Mart. I got Tahu and Nektann. I have two words to say about these sets: TOTALLY AWESOME. Tahu barrages you with Nostalgia like there's no tomorrow, and Nektann has a really great design that merges some of the cooler things about each original Piraka. (Except the smiles, :'( ) I can't wait to get the other four Stars soon. Then get duplicates of a few of them because they all have amazing recolours. I especially want to make a miniature army of Skrall and Rahkshi. Then try to make a Matau Metru Star with Gresh. Urgh, these things are all so cool!!!
  7. So one day last year, maybe early this year, I heard the song Viva La Vida by Coldplay. Then I started thinking that it vaguely fits with Mata Nui's story. So I told myself that I'd make a music video out of it when the movie came out. Flash forward to a while later, the movie came out, it didn't meet my expectations, and I scrapped my AMV idea. Until now. Please note, this is the first music video I've ever made, so be a bit gentle with the barrage of criticism. Though constructive criticism and tips and pointing out parts I messed up on is welcome. :D
  8. I got Vultraz and Kaxium V3 for Christmas. /boringgifts Though I've got to say, Kaxium is really awesome. Way better than I thought it would be, and I already had high expectations to begin with. Vultraz is a nice little set, too. But Kaxium takes the cake.
  9. Wait, XPlode does have a Nektann face! That means these sets still use Iron Man heads!!! Yesssss!!!! :D I was worried that they didn't use any previous BIONICLE heads, and instead made up shitty human-looking ones of their own. But hopefully the Nektann face proves that they didn't. (It's also an awesome piece in and of itself. Can't wait to see if anyone uses it to make a Hakann Star . . .)
  10. These are an old Megabloks line. There's a troll going around telling other people that this is BIONICLE's replacement, so maybe you got tricked by him. The real replacement is, as Matn said, LEGO HerO Factory, which has it's own topic here.
  11. I've gotta say, even though the story looks to be shitty, those sets are freakin' awesome. Too bad the rest isn't as good. :( . . . Wait a minute! I've got it! Remember that old topic where the fans created their own story for 2010? What if we all came together and created our own story as a continuation of BIONICLE for these awesome-looking sets? Anyone up for that idea?
  12. Well, he might not be. Gresh wasn't alive during the Core War, about 100,00 years ago, and the Mata were created before Mata Nui awoke 100,000 years ago. He might be older than Takua/Takanuva though . . .
  13. Maybe they have human names for a reason like the Prawns have Human names. These strange alien beings are criminals or something from another planet (Maybe even from a certain giant robot). They were sent to Earth and created massive havoc. Since the locals couldn't understand their real names, they gave the criminals names that they could understand, and described their powers. After a long while of the criminals going uncaptured, a Human military finally caught one and was able to reverse-engineer it's biomechanical technology. Using what they reverse-engineered, they created six biomechanical heroes to stop the criminals. The HerOes were given elemental powers based upon certain heroes from the criminal's home planet, and were also given magic-seeming masks. With Human names, these heroes hunt down the criminals one-by-one, and try to solve the mystery of where they came from. I think that would be a totally awesome theme. And it would explain why the line will have the BIONICLE logo attached to it. At least, at first.
  14. Holy shit, that commercial is awesome! It has crazy nostalgia and makes the sets look almost too good. Not to mention the CG battle between Tahu and Nektann being pure win. I hope we get a lot of CG stuff this year like we did in '08. It'd be a fitting way to end the saga.
  15. Well, ignoring my utter hatred of these names, I think the elements are Ice, Wind, Fire, Electricity, Water, and Rock. So at least we get a new element out of this. Even if it is made of silver. Ugghh.
  16. I'm not so sure about the creepy heads, look at the head of the blue canister. (I hope against all hope that that's a Glatorian Iron-Man head sticking out, and not something else.*jibblies*)
  17. This as BIONICLE's replacement is really disappointing. The sets look fine, but the names, eugh. So terrible. I can't believe they're replacing BIONICLE with something that has HUMANS in it. (Or at least Human names). Even the non-Human-sounding names sound terrible. 'XPlode'!? What is this, for eight year olds!?!? Oh wait. It is. Nevermind. Anyway, it's really disappointing they scrapped BIONICLE for this. Let's hope this theme fails so they bring BIONICLE back sooner.
  18. Oh Dear Lord. That just absolutely killed any enthusiasm I had for this theme. What the crap is LEGO thinking with anmes like this!? Ugh, that names list totally made me cringe.
  19. I used to have that game, and I really enjoyed it. Though if you're not interested in playing it, I'd suggest checking how much it goes for on Bricklink and sell it through there. If that fails, then giving it away would be less of a waste of just throwing it out.
  20. Looks like Greg wasn't entirely correct when he said they'd stop using the Avtoran build after the Stars. The blue canister set has 90-degree bent Avtoran arms, and the black set has the chubby Avtoran legs.
  21. Bleh. I don't like the canister sets much. The boxed sets seem good, though. But not the canisters. :/ (Also, the yellow boxed set looks a lot like Bitil. Hrm) I was really hoping we'd get slightly changed element lord sets that were supposed to be out next year, but these don't look like ELs . . . Mrh.
  22. Possibly something having to do with this Trope. Or it could be foreshadowing for the Golden Armor plot.
  23. Really? Is there proof Makuta was supposed to pilot the prototype GS?
  24. Wow. That comic was pretty epic. Sure it seems kinda rushed, but you can't blame Greg for trying. Besides, Mata Nui and Makuta finally fighting is the most awesome thing ever. Especially since they called each other 'brother' multiple times. That just makes everything so much more nostalgic and epic. I'm glad BIONICLE will end with an epic giant robot fight, then the giant robots working together to fix the original problem. There were a lot of Transformers references in this one though, even the preview of the next comic is called "And One Shall Fall" . . .
  25. FFFFUUUUUUUUU- Why did they have to cancel BIONICLE if this was going to be next year!? It's so damned epic! Auuugghhh!!! Paaaiiiin!!!
