  1. Do you know what a "quote" even means? It means you're restating what someone else already said, verbatim. "joy ride" indeed By all means, call me Mr. Meta-game. It's what any loyal Yakuza would, isn't it
  2. I will refer Akira to this valuable resource as to be an effective scum player under undo-duress: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=65209&st=0 Basically, you've thrown in the towel, which is well enough, but it's better to drop out, than to be silly while killing time. It's nice that you're having fun on your last day here, but the mature, mafia-tag-deserving play would be to maintain the facade until you were swallowed by the dragon
  3. No worries, I just would like to see the lynches based on the work of a few, but rather the group working as a whole together. Here's looking forward to day nine. Akira is either scum or the worst townie ever. Make that, not on the work of the few.
  4. well, I'm of the opinion that the silent masses are simply lazy, and they will all be taken care of either by investigation or by lynch... In a slow, laborious, unpleasant way, since games are much less fun when half the 'team' checks out.
  5. In all honesty, I said that as a test of sorts, to see his reaction. I think if he were town, he would have been really delicate about discussing it, thinking there was some danger to it. But since he's scum, the identity of the investigator is just a matter of course, and something to throw onto his defense. Basically, he's not a townie.
  6. If you really think it is a matter of "believed" and not "knew"... First he said he took a wild guess (even though I was 'speaking' for a few people's roles), but then later on: So, either he didn't know, or he deduced it. And of course, I didn't claim it. I quoted him assuming it in a private communique. He then said he'd made a wild guess, and then had spoken as if it was a fact in private. That was where I caught him. Nobody else would do that. Maybe in private they would say, "you might be the investigator, but..." but I've never seen anybody make a wild guess, then state it as a matter of fact... Unless it was a scum slip up, which is what it was. It's just the way it is. The scum had a role cop. That way, they would know for a fact. Any other townie out there who would have said that I was an investigator, as a fact, based on what happened in public? No other townie has done so. That, combined with him lying about Jirou clearing him (he didn't, I quoted Jirou's words to show he didn't); him claiming he was trying to block Momoe, then later claim he was trying to protect her; him agreeing to protect someone for me at the end of the day, then not doing it, and going further to say he wasn't going to anyway... His bitchiness in general today, complaining that I was leading the town in a clear vote against Emi...Do you remember yesterday? Emi had five out of twelve votes, and I clearly said it wasn't a clear-cut case. Now today, he wants to make it seem like I am leading you off a cliff by spilling about all his lying. Talk about a preventative defense. Why the Hell haven't other people voted? This is about as clear a scum case as you're going to get. The fact that he doesn't already have ten votes against him is a clear sign that this is a lazy town, and possibly illiterate.
  7. This is an awesome scum flail you've got going on. If only we could harness that power for good No, it has nothing to do with all your lying today, this is because you missed a night action
  8. Please keep in mind, Akira outed me as the investigator, after that I acknowledged it. That is an anti-town activity. For what reason would you out the investigator in public As for gut-feeling, give me a break. This is mafia. You go with investigations if you can, and you use your head if you can't. I laid out my case for Emi, and people could choose to go with it or not. It wasn't me closing my eyes and blindly pointing at someone. With Akira today, it's based on a string of flimsy excuses after the fact, and a web of little lies. Did you notice how I've been able to quote lots of communication which contradict his take on things, while he's produced none? Do you want to call that gut-feeling too, or is it the job we're here to do? The point here is not to have a perfect scum-dar, that's not going to happen, especially when the temple has a lot of very lazy members. The point is for you to be active and participating from day one, so you can have a solid defense of Emi. Her death is on the shoulders of lazy templies who just sit around waiting for the daily bandwagon. Sorry, your input for the day really rubs me the wrong way. I've been blocked three or four times already, and of the investigations I did do, I caught two scum. On top of that, the point of the game is not to wait around for the cop. If a townie is found innocent, we're still doing a lynch that day. And that lynch is not based on "gut-feeling," no matter what Akira says (he thinks a web of half-truths is a gut-feeling ), so you should really rethink who you're taking cues from. The lynches are based on participation, the degree to which their stories hold up,and their reactions under pressure. But feel free to call that "gut-feeling" if you'd like more facepalms  Feel free to offer up your hard evidence after the eight days we've spent in the temple. 分かる?
  9. That's utter megablocks. He said to me he figured your role was town, not that he knew you were town. Let's see what Jirou had to say about you, shall we? (Sorry, Jirou, I know you wouldn't want me to repeat all this, so please understand ) Does that sound like someone who check allegiances? Nope. Townies don't need to lie to the temple. Amazing after a week playing half asleep (ie. you can't be at your computer all the time) you all of a sudden woke up today! It's amazing how you knew I was the investigator on day three, since I was speaking for them. I was also speaking for the vig, and a few unexplained investigative-type roles (the hider and the mason leader), but you didn't definitely know I was one of those. You just knew I was the investigator. Of course, at that point, I hadn't caught Hiroki, so you couldn't even know if I was the cop, or something else all together. Wow, you're a really smart guy! I think it more likely you have a connection to a scum role cop helping you.
  10. Just to point out you lying here. You claim now to have wanted to find out if she had a night action by blocking her, but in private, you claimed to simply be a protector. Jirou told you after night two your role, so as of night two, you were claiming just to know you were protector. A true Townie doesn't need to lie to the temple
  11. You most certainly weren't cleared. Lying doesn't make you look more town. Jirou had the ability to see what action someone used, not what their allegiance was. I think it's amazing after days of playing the fool, you've all of a sudden decided you know what you're doing I'm glad you are able to vote for Daisuke with confidence I'm glad you're no longer confused. As for the rest of your defense, it's incredibly scummy, claiming you weren't intending to protect the person you'd agreed to, saying it was a bad idea to trust me when I've been a part of most of the scum deaths, and yes, knowing that I, Norio, am the investigator. The scum already know, so there's no harm in saying it. But you claiming you put two and two together? Not likely Enjoy the dragon's mouth
  12. Alright then, Vote: Akira (bob) He smells the scummiest
  13. What are you talking about? I voted for Emi based on her behaviour, and not because she was labeled as scummy by an investigator. And I was very clear about that from the start. And now you want to get in a huff and say people are blindly following me Anyway, I helped lynch an agent on day 3, lynched a mutineer on day 4, and lynched another mutineer on day 6. What's Akira done for us? Oh, Akira 'forgot' to send in night actions in I think your attitude here is pretty poorly thought through, so hopefully you're scum, and not just a townie with their panties in a knot. Anyway, I may as well lay out the case against Akira, since he's the best choice we have today...Lizzy is a fair bet, but Lizzy doesn't actually have much against her other than an apathetic attitude. The case against Akira] 1) Combative attitude today, for no other reason than that he knows I'm thinking of voting for him. 2) He claimed Hiroki was his role cop feeding him info on day one. Which I find very unlikely that Hiroki would choose Akira to trust on day one. What did Akira do on day one to earn such trust? 3) Akira was in contact with Jirou, Jirou was a Follower, who saw Akira's role. I contacted Akira about what the heck was up, around day three, and without prompting, told me Jirou's role. But, upon further questioning, wouldn't tell Hiroki's identity. He didn't reveal Hiroki's identity until after there had been an investigation of him, when it didn't make a difference. 4) He claimed a protection role, which is well enough, but it is supposedly only alternate nights, and has only been used once. He 'forgot' the other time. Let's look at the timeline... I contacted him when the day was ending. I think gramps has been really lenient about letting us get actions in, offering to let us get them in before the day ends... So, this is how he 'forgot' His reply: A few days later, I get this: Huh? What ability I have no ability, and haven't claimed one to Akira. Sounds like he's using some black market information. I think it's more likely that Akira wasn't able to protect because he had to step in and become a killer for the scum. Scum have been known to have protectors. Sounds like a heaping pile of scumbag lies to me. And if Akira isn't scum, he owes the town an apology for lazy, sloppy townie behaviour. This is not based on an investigation. It's based on the scumminess wafting through the temple with a stench of Akira on it. Akira, still want to complain about the investigator, or people blindly following me
  14. I have really little interest in brand new systems. I got the Wii when it was a year old, but usually I'm happy to wait two years or more. Now is a great time to buy a PS3. I got Arkham Asylum and Uncharted 2 for $25 each, new. There are piles of AAA titles for that price. So I can get a game a month, in an affordable way That spinner had one use in the overworld, in the eastern area, there's a heart to get, I think. The beetle is actually quite nice though. It replaces the boomerang as the thing to pick up items, and you control it, loosely. It lets you explore areas well in advance without rushing in. The whip is alright, but doesn't have a lot of uses. The best one is snatching a key from a goblin through a gated door. The weakest weapon is the Gust Bellows, a wind blower that blows piles of dust and cools lava. It's only there to remove obstacles made for the gust bellows. As well, you can upgrade a lot of the items. The beetle gets a stamina and speed boost, and the net gets much bigger. That's a cool option. It's a lot smaller, and no horses. Your main home is a floating city above the clouds, and you get your own bird to fly early on. From the clouds, you can enter three drop sites to the overworld, the forest, the mountain, and the desert. It's a lot faster to get around, but it's very deep. It reminds me of the Metroid worlds somewhat. It's very different to all the other games. It uses MotionPlus perfectly. You are literally controlling the sword. A lot of enemies guard themselves, so you need to swing the sword just right to get them. There are skeletons armed with four swords who block in about three directions, and it's a challenge to react quick enough. The only difficulty was thrusting forward. Sometimes, if I got too panicky in a tight squeeze, I had trouble thrusting it right on. But that was more me, since at other times I had no problem. It will be a pain for lefties to play, possibly. I played it a little, but I really don't like the DS that much. I tried to get into it twice, and just thought it was okay.
  15. The Wii plays GameCube games I bought a GameCube in order to play WW, but messed up somehow and couldn't finish it; the Japanese game has a few little differences and at that time my Japanese wasn't quite good enough to figure out what I was missing, and English guides were no help. About four years later, I had my Wii, and gave it another go and cleared it. It's a really nice game, though it's a bit of a slog in places. The dungeons are great in it. Anyway, with a Wii, you can play every Zelda game except the Gameboy and DS games, and the monstrous CD-I game of course
  16. Hey Emi Next time, work with the team, please, for all our sakes.
  17. Miller's Crossing. It's a good, good flick, with a lot of style. And it makes you ask yourself, over and over, what the right course of action is.
  18. I'm surprised nobody resurrected this thread or started a new one: Skyward Sword is awesome It's the last gasp of the Wii. I placed an order for a PS3 yesterday. The PS3 is now at a slightly lower price than the Wii was when I bought mine five years ago, plus the PS3 has a pile of great, cheap games now. Anyway, Skyward Sword will be the last full-price, new game I buy for quite a long time. Is it better than other Zelda games, including Ocarina of Time? It's hard to say. I loved Twilight Princess, and I think this is a bit better: a little tighter, a little more creative. One thing I'm always impressed by is the series attempt to add to each generation. In TP, they added the Iron Boots (that worked a lot differently than those in OoT) and the spinner. In SS, there are a few new devices as well, though they don't seem meant for the pantheon... like the spinner which doesn't make an appearance here. The thing that was most impressive here was the level design. The temples really do get exponentially complicated. The time temple here is conceptually brilliant, and the final Skyloft Temple is brilliant, though a little gimmicky. The overworld is a lot more maze like, rather than open expanse, and there is a lot less time wasted as a result. The explored area gets recycled inventively a few times, which is another novelty to the game. I've all but finished the game. I'm at the final save point before game's end, and tried the final boss yesterday and failed. I'll give it another try tomorrow. If I can't beat him on my second try, I'll be pretty pissed. I found the Wii motion controls quite good. The game differentiates between left/right/overhand/underhand sword swipes, and it makes all the difference with how enemies defend themselves. I've found myself naturally improving my sword-play in a way that I never have with other games. Did anyone else buy this game yet?
  19. On the eve of the release, I'm trying to grasp the Hunger Games phenomenon. I watched the Harry Potter movies and sometimes enjoyed them, but they didn't blow me away at all, and numbers 5,6, and 7 made little impression at all. And I stayed the hell away from Twilight, since I could tell it sucked by about 10 seconds into its trailer. But, I'm interested to actually read Hunger Games. There are a lot of comparisons to Battle Royale, which was an awesome film/story, but it seems Hunger Games makes the whole story a lot deeper and gives texture to the world around it. Hunger Games has also been championed by the writers at the AVClub, which is one of the better sites for pop culture. That recommendation has helped me give this a chance. Looking forward to it. It's been a long time since I was enthusiastic to see a new film franchise, but this looks good

    Post your own art

Thanks Honestly, the ideas in my head can be aggressive, and my artistic challenge is to make them as non-offensive as possible while not being watered-down. I have to admit though, I have, at best, an antagonistic relationship to sports
  21. A big +1 to Darkdragon, thanks so much
  22. How long is this day?
  23. It's certainly kind of nouveau riche, so yeah, they would
  24. Between Lizzy and Emi, Emi needs to go, so I'll leave Akira till tomorrow. Unvote: Akira Vote: Emi (Brickdoctor) Repay you Sorry, but this isn't about being grateful, it's about eliminating the scum. You are entirely too defensive over the little I said, which is yet again, a scum-tell. Day eight will be your day, depending on the night's results
  25. megablocking Facebook I'm sorry Mr. Mod-sir, I'll get on that tomorrow morning <not > I'll tweak it tomorrow. For tonight, this all-you-can-drink guy is sleepy! <edit> Fixed those pics
