  1. I think they sound like good ideas, but when it comes to making games, there's a certain comfort zone each maker needs. Sandy loves Harry Potter, so she did Hogwort's mafia. I'd love to play some steam-punk mafia, but when it comes to designing one, my head's much more stuck in the real world. So, the theme I'd really like to play isn't the one I'd really like to make. Though if I try a second one I might go out of my comfort zone. As for people wanting everyone to have powers... well, I'm against it. Eurobricks games are drawn out (two months) compared to one or two weeks on most sites. So, it seems like you don't have a chance here to really cut loose (for me, I only got to have special powers in Dystopia, and that was the insane cop, so it was kind of a drag after it was revealed). I understand that you want something to do. But, you have to keep in mind that there are lots of people playing. There is a challenge for the cop, investigator, and doctor to finding the no-ability players to team with, and for the mafia to pick off the ability players before the no-ability ones. When everyone has a power, the mafia take down a power player every time they have a kill. It's a drag for the game runner, who loses a big piece of the game, and gets rid of some of the balance in the game. There are ways around this, to keep the game exciting for un-powered players, but I think "everybody has powers" is like playing a video game with cheat codes. It's okay for one game now and then, but to make it the norm would make mafia a lot more boring. Unpowered townies are an important, useful play dynamic. Play a few rounds, and your time will come. The other (non-Eurobricks) games I've played tweaked the systems to increase the novelty and enjoyment. One game had a split mafia, one of killers, and one of recruiters, who won together, but didn't know each other. So the two mafias had to figure out a way to reveal themselves to each other in a trustful way without releasing their identities to town. Another had three mafias, no town, and the last remaining mafia won. But, the players didn't know who for sure was on the other two teams, so kills and voting was the only way to know. There are lots of ways to jazz up the games here. Interesting themes is one, but varying gameplay would possibly make things interesting for all players.
  2. Haven't you seen the upcoming mafia list?
  3. I never used it as an alarm clock, but the buzz isn't particularly loud. I have it on my mantle next to my computer, and never noticed it ticking. It's quiet all around.
  4. Vigilante, take this bozo out. He's nothing but bad news.
  5. Sorry I didn't complain yesterday I'll try to complain about you in a more timely manner from now on, guv'nor. But seriously, it takes no courage to jump on a convicted man. You might feel better, but it just shows a lack of character on your part. You town ain't nothing but a flock of sheep. I'm not part of it. Unvote: King Mafia know who's good and who's bad. If I were in the mafia, and I was giving information, I would give out true info whenever possible, to throw people off. King's guilt is not confirmed by that other cops fingering. As for me? I'm just a nobody trying to get you guys to think about what you're doing. But you folks are so headless it's impossible. I'd have a better chance finishing off one of those hockey pucks Mr. White serves and calls a Salisbury steak dinner at his so-called restaurant.
  6. He's already convicted. All the rest of youz are a little late to the conviction party
  7. Thanks for nothing, punk.
  8. King's been convicted. Anyone else want to jump on the bandwagon and vote him out too?
  9. Another rotten cop Vote: Erik King/ KingoftheZempk
  10. There is no such thing as a fact in the Star Wars universe. Saying a character is not good or interesting or tough (or whatever) because they weren't mentioned in movies made before they were created is quite mind bending to me. While we're at it, Harry Potter wasn't mentioned in Lord of the Rings. Let's count that as a strike against his character too. Consider my mind bent from surfing this thread.
  11. Toys R Us has limited in Japan, like the MMV or Dooku's Solar Sailor, but I've never seen them have anything limited to Japan. Since the Kabaya contract expired, there's only been the ANA sets, which are (as far as I know) only available through their catalog. By characters, do you mean letters? In that case, they have them, but only in the legal info. As far as I know, LEGO makes international boxes. The Japanese sets occasionally have some Japanese language insert thrown in, but usually it's the same. I think only America gets its own regional boxes.
  12. I'm a fan of the Infiltrator, so I'll give it a go once you have your Brickshelf approved. I think you really captured it well. Thanks.
  13. Hmm. Could have to do with him not being written yet? After all, Darth Vader never recognized R2 and 3PO in the OT trilogy. Did he have amnesia, or was it just retconning? So no, I don't expect Bane to be mentioned in a movie made five years before his character was designed.
  14. How's about we all gets ripe drunk tonight? I have a moonshine kit in the clubhouse that should be just about ready. What do you think? Pigs and bikers, swinging together. We could invite some of the ladies too and shake this town up.
  15. Have a good one, KielDaMan
  16. We could just lynch King to put him out of his m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-misery.
  17. Possibly, but then I'm not being held up as a model of badassery, am I George Lucas messed up that characterization, Boba should have had a cold, pathological look in his eye. Putting him in episode 2 was almost as dumb as having Yoda meet Chewbacca in episode 3.
  18. When his daddy died. Episode 2 Boba was just a stupid idea.
  19. I think you have fair points. It's hard not to grade on a curve. Season Two really wasn't much better than season one. Production values are much better, but the stories have been pretty lame. Personally, I haven't started on season three yet, partly since I'm not enthusiastic whatsoever. But, once season two is done this year, maybe we'll get into the next season. I don't think the show is going downhill (did anyone else suffer through the show Heroes perpetual slide?), but I hope it is consistently decent.
  20. Nobody asked who's a better crier.
  21. Boba Fett cried on film. Did Bane do that?
  22. It is a minifig in soup, Duplo minifig actually. My daughter threw it in, and I thought it looked great!

  23. Have a good one, fellas!
  24. His trick was great. And it wasn't really a hat. First, he stopped lasers with it, then he threw it. Since when do hats bounce back to their owners? When Captain America is throwing it. Thanks, I'll update it. Thanks, I'll add that too!
  25. You haven't seen them? They're out there if you look, just don't post them here.
