    Canadian Eh?

    I still haven't received mine.

Go to the store and ask about the brick. They had a lot left from the G.O. and folks have come in with the postcard and still received their brick. Don't delay though...don't know how many they have left.
  3. Looks like the Fairview Mall LEGO store (Toronto, Canada) will soon have the QAR on display. Saw an employee showing the finished set to a customer this past Saturday. Have to admit...it looks good and is very tempting. Also heard that LEGO released the Black Pearl early, because TRU and Target 'jumped the gun' and released it early, when they weren't supposed to.
  4. Aw, maaaaaaaaaaaan! You guys just HAD TO mention how much of this stuff could be used for castle/fantasy armies, didntcha? Dang it! Now I'm going to be even broker than I was already going to be. *sigh*
  5. Just wondering how many folks AREN'T going to get the new Batman sets (for whatever reason), that will end up kicking themselves down the road like so many already do for not picking up the previous Batman line...
  6. I'd love to see them push the envelope and call him "Office Drone".
  7. Dark Dwarf CMF #6.

    Wear a nametag!
  9. Sure...in a "Land of the Giants" kind of way.
  10. Can't wait to see the Donnie Darko MOCs that are going to pop up.
  11. The ambiguous nature of the design does allow for more 'play value' though, since one can imagine it to be representative of a few different things. Very cool, IMO.
  12. Five, if you count 'Tarzan' as a barbarian horde army builder. :) Six, if you count the bagpiper as a way to flesh out a highland clan with the fig from series 6.
  13. Oh, my. So many great figs. So many cool parts. Yup, I'll be ALL OVER this series! LOL

Anyone else not exactly thrilled with the new design of LEGO.com?
  15. I don't know if the production number on the box would be of help. I'm not sure if that's the 'batch number', or the production facility number...even if it WAS the batch number, you'd still have to figure out which is the new batch and which is the old. Not terribly helpful. I'm guessing that your best bet is just to buy it and then deal with the awesome folks at customer service, if there are any problems.
  16. Well, technically, it merely means 'more than one', since it's a pluralized name, thus eliminating the possiblity of ONLY one. Anything "more than two" is pure speculation, or "wishful thinking" by fans. Ever since I warmed-up to this theme, I HOPED it meant that the theme would continue for longer than LEGO's curren't "normal run length" and add additional kingdoms into the mix but, I'm not so certain that's going to happen. At this point in time, it's looking like "fantasy era" will have had more "kingdoms" than "Kingdoms" will. *EDIT* I got to thinking about this reply of mine and something suddenly dawned on me: the theme is called "Kingdoms"...plural...as in 'more than one'...BUT...we have, so far, seen only ONE KING! Two FACTIONS, yes, but only ONE king, hence only ONE 'kingdom'. Now, I realize that this means NOTHING and that I'm just grasping at straws, striving for some faint hope that this theme will continue but...well...you just never know, right?
  17. No, it's not STATED flat-out, I'll give you that...but, look at the pics...Dragon knight's body...dark green plume...dark green and black tent. The Dragons colours are dark green and black. Coincidence? Doubtful. In addition...I really don't think that TLG would be so lazy as to create all new barding, breastplate and shield for an exclusive set and then 'cheap out' on the body under that breastplate. I mean, c'mon...they threw in a brand new noblewoman and they're going to take the easy way out on the arguably 'more important' Jousting Knight figure? I don't think so. The LEGO Group may have stumbled on products here and there but, they're not dumb. In fact, they're usually quite smart when it comes to storylines, unexpected twists, etc. and including a Dragon knight "in disguise", effectively co-opting the "Black Knight" myth, is EXACTLY the sort of thing I would expect them to do. No way did they just suddenly "change their minds" on the fig that they were going to include in the set. Not a chance. First of all: they put a LOT of time and effort into designing sets...even the ones that fail miserably. A change of figure design would not be a 'last minute' thing and it wouldn't be done in such an obvious manner. Secondly: they're quite aware that the Dragon knight is available in a VERY inexpensive set already (minus a lance...big deal) and there is no way on God's green earth that they are going to toss a 'cheap' fig into an EXCLUSIVE set that has a $120-150 (North American) price point. Not going to happen. The howls of outrage would be heard clear across the Atlantic. Re-using the Lion knight makes a lot more sense, because he only appears in one other set, which costs significantly more than the one that the Dragon knight appears in. Thirdly: 'Kingdoms' has been a two-faction theme from the get-go. It's TOTALLY in keeping with the way LEGO does things to include one of those factions 'in disguise' in furtherance of their conflict storyline. In the end, it's all speculation, for sure...until we hear something 'official' on the matter.
  18. Purchased the rest of the Series 5 minifigs required to complete my collection, plus a few doubles. Still haven't bought all the duplicates that I want but, at least I've finished the 'core 16'. =) Oh, also picked up a bunch of ninja torsos and 'pop star' hair in a BAM box the other day, along with BrickJournal #15 (all of this was at the Fairview Mall LEGO store...BrickJournal is kind of 'hidden' in the back corner, next to the CMFs.
  19. BTW...haven't seen anything mentioned about this, so I thought I'd toss it out there...the free 'mini Hogwarts express' polybag offer (with purchase of Diagon Alley) has been extended. Was supposed to be just Aug/Sept but has now been extended up to Dec. 24, I believe.
  20. I think that this new 'Joust' set signals the end of Kingdoms, unfortunately. It smacks of that "last big hurrah" like MMV, Imperial Flagship, etc. Plus...if you look at the whole range of pics available, it's not a "new Falcon knight figure"...it's a DRAGON knight figure DISGUISED as a 'Falcon' in black armour...which is exactly the sort of thing you get with "black knight" tales (King Richard as the Black Knight in Ivanhoe, for example). As much as I hope and pray that I'm wrong, I'm quite convinced that this beautiful set is the harbinger of doom for the Kingdoms line.
  21. Okay, I thought that January was supposed to be the DC launch and May was supposed to be the Marvel launch. What's up?
  22. Been drooling over these pics since Friday. I will definitely have to snag two of these! Funny thing is though: the jousting area will look better than the King's castle!
  23. Was at the new Fairview Mall store (Toronto, Canada) and couldn't resist any longer: I bought my first five Series 5 figs (blind grab, no feeling of pouches). Scored fairly well. No dupes at least. Cleopatra, Zookeeper, Boxer, Snowboarder and suprise, suprise, my first Gladiator! Sweeeet!
  24. Ahhhhhhhhh. Sweet set. Comes out in January. Tons of pics on Flickr for folks like myself to drool over. That new Falcon (updated Black Falcon) knight looks AWESOME!
  25. Which 'exclusive' set is that? The new 'holiday' one that will be a freebie? I think that's not until mid-October. 17-31, IIRC. Fairview was PACKED, so I just snagged five random bags of Series 5 (my first ones!) instead of spending the time 'groping' the pouches and got: Cleopatra, Zookeeper Jane, Gladiator, Snowboarder and Boxer. Not bad for totally blind picks. Also picked-up BrickJournal #15.
