They did put a few sets on sale just after Christmas. ..Although they were mostly ones that were all already sold out.

Well this topic is about prices and the availability. I think it's just a problem when people are still using the 2010 picture and rumour thread to discuss the prices where it doesn't belong. The Americans are especially bad for this, because they're the ones who never seem to realise that not everyone lives there and cares about their prices, especially because they pay a lot less than the rest of the world and apparently fail to realise that this is Eurobricks.

LEGO Star Wars Expanded Universe Subtheme Thread
Penitent Tangent replied to Jar Jar's topic in LEGO Star Wars
George Lucas himself created the Clone Wars and has been heavily involved in the production. It's a proper part of the SW canon along with the upcoming live action TV show that starts sometime this year. They're not part of the EU. -
I'm pretty sure all the Barris Offee fans will dispute the "nobody Jedi" claim, especially after her massive role in the Clone Wars recently. I personally would have prefered more Clones over the droids too, but without the unique Jedi, I'd have had no interest in the set.

The Endor hasn't been discontinued to my knowledge, odd that it's disappeared. Perhaps just a mistake when they were putting the new sets up? Speaking of which, the two speeder sets have finally appeared, at least on the UK store. Can't say I'm very happy with the prices, the £25 for the Landspeeder isn't too bad, but I feel pretty screwed for the £30 Swamp speeder, especially because I'm only really after the Barriss minifig. But oh well, at least I get my free Sharkman keyring. Also, if anyone is interested, PLAY.com list all the new sets, sans the Swamp speeder for release on their site for the 15th, prices are the same as S@H, but you'll get free postage with them.
-
A lot of the discontinued sets have disappeared from the site now, at least the UK version. Ahsoka's starfighter, the spider droid, etc, are all gone. Still no sign of the Landspeeder though, does anyone have any clues as to when that might appear? I know the swampspeeder is listed for February, but since places in the US are already selling the landspeeder, I'd have thought it'd go up with the rest of them. I'm holding off on the battlepacks until that goes up to save on the postage.

Unless I'm developing a blind spot, the Landspeeder isn't up yet.

The quest for R2 video did show the Malovelance at the end. I think it's safe to say that'll be one of the big secret sets we see released next year, similar to the Tantive IV. And of course we have Grievous' Starfighter, Palpatines shuttle and the Slave 1 next year.

LEGO Star Wars Expanded Universe Subtheme Thread
Penitent Tangent replied to Jar Jar's topic in LEGO Star Wars
But ships like the Rogue Shadow and Tie Defender are only released once in a blue moon. I think this is more suggesting it's turned into a whole line, like how we get Clone Wars sets and OT sets. But I'd agree it's uncessary, I'm not a fan of the EU and I don't think enough Lego consumers would recognise the majority of the stuff either. The Rogue Shadow worked because it was from a new videogame and the Tie Defender is just a 'cool' design. I wouldn't mind seeing some more Force Unleashed sets. Something with a Rahm Kota, Shaak Ti or Marris Brood would be great. A Kyle Katarn minifig would be pretty cool too. -
I'm pretty sure midi-scale doesn't mean it'll be inscale with other midi-scaled vehicles.
-
I definitely prefer your more 'teen friendly' designs, they look really great. Although the more basic Clone ones, etc have been good too. But unless you get any serious complaints, or the mods ask you to stop, I don't see any problem with what you're doing here.
-
Not a rumour so much as a suggestion. It's not unusual for Lego to remake vehicles of course, but I don't think they've ever produced a new version of a set, while there's an older one still on sale, and since we know it's not a UCS a midi version would make sense. I thought the Falcon was a great little model to have on display. Looked more accurate then many of the big play sets, doesn't take up a lot of room and people don't percieve it as a 'toy' quite so much. Even if it turns out this one isn't a midi, I'm sure we'll see more sooner or later.

Some legitmate evidence for the return of HP...
Penitent Tangent replied to Derek's topic in LEGO Licensed
I do believe the original information we got said they were considering re-releasing many of the HP sets. So it makes sense that they'd just be going with what they've already done, rather than make totally new ones, especially as the reason for stopping the series was because of how expensive they were to make. But I imagine if these do well, we'll see newer ones in the future. -
UCS have different set numbers, so it won't be those. But yeah, there will definitely be a couple of more sets coming.. special editions like the Tantive IV pop up towards the end of the year. Which is why there's been so much speculation on here about a new Cloud City coming. But it could be anything, although I'd place my bet on the AT-AT being one of them.
-
I'm pretty sure it'll be another midi-set. The Falcon was great, so I'd love to see more of those. And it's definitely not a UCS and it makes no sense for them to release another normal AT-AT set when we already have one, and I'm pretty sure that wasn't on the 2010 discontinued list.

Out of stock now, but the UK Toys R Us site had the Landspeeder up for sale yesterday. Almost ordered some myself, but they have ridiculous stock limitations (1 per customer) which would have bumped the set up to £30 because of their crazy standard post fee's, and I just wasn't willing to pay that for the set.

Shame we never got to see any of the turbo tank, as these definitely seem to be more recent builds of those sets. Wampa looks much better and Plo Koon has his blue lightsaber. Would have really liked to see a more finalized Aayla Secura.
-
It's NOT exclusive. Several places in the UK are already selling it, besides TRU. As for the mispelling of Kit Fisto, it's no different than Plo Koon having a green lightsaber in these newer pictures. They're prototype sets that aren't finished yet, they aren't going to go to the effort of checking small details like that, but they will be corrected before the final released version. I won't even bother mentioning the Aayla Secura again.. just remember, they're PRELIMINARY PICTURES that we shouldn't have even seen yet. Not finished sets.

I'm sure some will be unhappy about this, but there was a discussion floating around a few pages back about the eyes in regards to the minifigs for the Landspeeder set, so I thought I'd post this picture, as it seems they have indeed been updated to the new pupil style.

Where to get a good custom Ki-Ai Mundi?
Penitent Tangent replied to Dennimator's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
The Shaak-ti is great. I'm still annoyed they haven't made a proper mini-fig of here, or even used her in the CW series yet. She's one of my favourite characters, and she's about the only main Jedi character that hasn't made an apppearence yet. -
You can download 30 day trial versions from the Adobe website and occasionally PC magazines give away a basic "Elements" versions of Photoshop for free, but other than that there's no way to get them for free, at least not legally, but that sort of stuff shouldn't be discussed here.

For me at least.. Jar Jar has become so hated, he's almost likable. At least in some kind of ironic sense, like this review (presumably) uses. I'd love to see a new Jar Jar figure, I was actually disappointed they didn't include one alongside Obi-Wan in this years Pirate Tank set, it would have made sense.
-
Not a fan of the design here at all. It just seems odd, like.. why would something like that ever exist, what purpose could the three arced wings possibly serve? Reminds me very much of a lot of the fan made starships you see for Star Trek, just overly designed and silly looking. Still, if you are a fan of it, and it seems many people are, then I'm sure it'd be a fun set. And I do really love the new pilot mold.
-
The Landspeeder definitely isn't exclusive, it's up for order in certain places in the UK already. The US does have more places for exclusive sets than we do, but if it were exclusive to someplace, then it'd only be on the official Lego store for us. http://www.dvd.co.uk/Other/LEGO-Star-Wars-...092/product.htm Not being exclusive doesn't seem to have lowered the price at all though, infact it's even more expensive than I would have thought.

Love the Ahsoka one, very cute. You guys should definitely keep doing more of these, really great work.
