  1. LOL I haven't even opened the bags that contain these parts in the last ... 10(?) sets I bought
  2. AS said above, thank god there's BL! The position of the elements (LED, Colour sensor, Light Sensor) does make it a little complicate to connect to a Fibre Optics cable
  3. It's all related to the single pin commands, but I have yet to see how those commands could be used with the currently available PF elements.
  4. Very nice. I need to have a closer look at the pictures you put in your galery to apply the same or similar mods to mine
  5. Don't have the set, but built the model using the parts I have and it certainly is a very nice design.
  6. The outside looks really nice. Some pics of the inside would be cool
  7. I love robots that actually produce something. Great start and welcome to EB!
  8. Sounds like the precision control might be an advantage over solenoid valves (which is what I'm playing with) although the solenoids can be controlled by regulating open/close time.
  9. Hadn't thought of using MSPaint, but I see how it might actually be quite easy to use. I'm thinking maybe I can get the parts by making renders of each part individually in LDView and creating a library with those. @Mark Bellis Didn't even know what Visio was until I looked it up. and it reminded me I was looking for a flowchart app - may have to look for something a bit cheaper though :) I like your drawings and I see you haven't bothered with valve or piston positions. Maybe keeping things really simple is the best way to go.
  10. I tried using it with RoboLab some time ago, but haven't really done anything big with it. The main reason I didn't invest a lot of time into trying to get something nice running was the very long response time - about a second would pass between a touch sensor was pushed and the related motor stopped.
  11. Over the years I have seen many people post schematics for some of their Pneumatics creations. I'm looking into doing something like this myself, but I am looking for a way that is both 'easy' (not too time consuming - some people draw the whole thing by hand) and easily understandable. SO basically I am looking for suggestions on how to do this. I'm not an engineer and although the drawings don't need to be professional I would also like to make them at least reasonably 'up to standard'. Additionally, I have seen that some people make schematics that reflect the different steps of a pneumatic loop with an image for each step. Do you think this is necessary/recommendable?
  12. Thanks, it's supposed to be me. It was done by one of the members of HispaLUG to celebrate the second edition of our annual LUG event Hispabrick.
  13. Thanks. Working on the second part of the LDraw tutorial now...
  14. It's good to see another 'heavy weight' in the Technic community. Welcome aboard!
  15. The annual LUG event of HispaLUG will be held in Madrid on December 6 and 7: You are all invited to visis. If anyone wants to participate they'll have to fill in the registration form. More information at http://www.hispabrick.com/
  16. Looks like I somehow managed to completely overlook this subforum and haven't introduced myself, even though I have been around for just over a year. The thing is I've mostly just been lurking. My name (real name) is Jetro and I'm an active member of HispaLUG (the Spanish LUG) co-editor of and contributor to HispaBrick Magazine and since this week, a guest blogger at TechnicBRICKs. My main interest is Technic / MINDSTORMS and at the moment I'm working on my GBC modules for the upcoming Hispabrick LUG event in Madrid (December 6 and 7), using lots of Pneumatics and a couple of trains...
  17. Looks like I just escaped from the loony bin:
  18. €39 and you bought only one??
  19. Mine won't arrive till after my holidays, but I already feel a lot better about having ordered it. At first glance it looked like the Snow Groomer and Crane Truck were much more interesting, but seeing the technical complexity of this set I might be wrong. Even so, the B model doesn't look very appealing - or am I wring again?
  20. At the moment Hispabrick Magazine appear 3 times a year, roughly in April, August and December. As Lluis said, we aim at "understandable, not perfect", although we make every effort to make it as perfect as time and circumstances allow. If there are any serious mistakes we've overlooked, please let us know so we can keep them in mind for future issues. And if anyone wishes to write an article in English (understandable is good enough) we'll translate it for the Spanish issue, so do contact the editors if you have any ideas for an article. Jetro
  21. Thanks for a very complete review. I'm looking forward to seeing the 'B' model. Unfotunately I won't be able to get my hands on one til september...
