  1. Another brick in your wall... welcome!
  2. As far as I can tell there's 'only' the turn table.
  3. Welkom! Absolutely amazing and at every level. Love the Xerox machine!
  4. d'oh... and it's quite clear in your signature. Looking forward to the video...
  5. Thank you!! I had never noticed the difference, but this has solved a problem I had with a tricky clutch gear situation.
  6. Great MOC and very faithful to the original! I'm going crazy trying to find the 7th LA... There are three in the front (two to raise the arm and one to tip the bucket) and three in the back (one for each part of the arm and a third for the bucket.). So where's number 7?
  7. But you have that instinct because you know what you are doing. A newbie wouldn't know where to start and why to place the torque gear one way or the other.
  8. That is a great idea and a brilliant addition to your technicopedia. As for suggestions, - I am quite comfortable with gears, but linkages are still very much a trial and error subject, especially the more complex ones. - For absolute beginners some hints as to gear placement would be great (a good number are shown in the Tora no Maki book, but many others are missing). - Additionally you might explain how to decide where to put a white clutch gear. - You may also want to link to some external sources (unless you create your own) like Sariels gear ratio calculator and Philos motor speed comparison charts.
  9. Well, that's probably an old discussion, but as much as I like pneumatics, LA's give a more realistic movement to the two functions of the arm, you can easily regulate the degree of expansion/contraction. They are simply different mechanisms with different uses and applications.
  10. I've got a couple of those and used one for a return centre steering once, but I have to try this and see what I can do with it.
  11. Nice. The wheels look a bit on the small side though.
  12. Welcome! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
  13. Who sais it can't? Nobody has tried as far as I know ... or succeeded.
  14. That's the one. Thanks!
  15. What a beaut! a 60s LEGO design with a PF interior. Fabulous!
  16. Thanks for the pics. Love the U-Joint!! (off to BL to get a couple of those whadayyoucallthem pieces )
  17. Deep dark ages for me that was. Didn't even know it existed, but now that you have mentioned it I sure would love to see some scans...
  18. Thansk! I havent built mine yet, but it's nice to see there are ways to improve the set.
  19. Look great! I'd like to have a closer look at that u-joint (cardan) - I'm curious to see how you built it. And of course there's the tiny matter of the PF functions :D
  20. I remembered that this motor had caused quite some problems, and looking through my bookmarks I finally found the origin of my knowledge... A comment by Mark Bellis on BS ;D There's also a gallery with pictures to show this problem (by another user) http://indylug.org/blogs/alittleslow/archi...-Internals.aspx. As for the MOC. I agree that it's nice to see a 'Model Team" type MOC and al studded!
  21. If you can do Pneumatics with LDraw, then you should have a look at the competition that's running at TechnicBRICKs (and if anyone else knows basic LDraw they might want to have a go as well)
  22. Well, this certainly opens the way for speculation on what this new functionality will be used for by LEGO and railway signals etc would certainly make a welcome addition to the range of available options.
  23. Looking good! Hadn't realised the way you created the 'ring' at the back of the container for the hook of the arm. Nice!
  24. Thank you for the explanation/experiment. Do you know if it would work with the existing LEGO LED lights?
