  1. I think that these were made just for BNSF! http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=10170-1
  2. Yeah, and have pretty much all seen pictures of new trains (at least boxes). So, only real improvment would be hi-res official photos or photos of actual train (not from the box).
  3. Dont worry, these are for other two models.
  4. I doubt they will raise train set prices above 120-170eur which is usual price. These sets are intended for wider buye base then exclusive or UCS sets and price need do stay in reasonable boundaries. Normal price (if you count in used PF parts) would be 170eur (125 eur PF parts + 55eur train and tracks) and 220eur for cargo train (which is around price for which emerald night was sold with PF functions). BTW, do we have any information on 10194K (EN+PF) kits? If I remember correctly I saw more 9v conversion here then people who bought whole pack)
  5. Yes, we noticed that, but doubt remains because of the price which is too low for rechargeable battery.
  6. 1. I can understand that and it seems that this is the main reason for such a decision 2. Planning? Car is already made, instructions exist and there is no need for new parts, so this is really not a good excuse (besides that that some financial manager limited number of lego direct sets for each years) 3. I agree, but those two look complete and 10194 not. It looks like a starter-set, which is just waiting for cars to be added. I myself bought just the locomotive and tender (which are cheap today, look at point 1), because train with one car looks uncomplete and I rather added my own cars.
  7. Here it's what I manage to put together with addition of some standard parts (from my collection of non-train parts) row1: red crocodile row4: "BNSF" and flat car Row5: small black steamer, 2 red/white cars and caboose
  8. I have now built 1, 4 and 9, but with addition of some smaller parts and some minor modifications to models. The main problem when building several cars are wheels and buffers. You get 12wheels and you use 8 for main model, so you are left with four which is good for one car. If you add 9V motor to both locomotives then you get additional 4 wheels, so it's possible to build what I wrote. You may also have to add some plain bricks and plates, but I think that we all have enough of these.
  9. I I remember correctly I built at the same time: left locomotive from your quote, small blacke steamer and low long car with box tied with chains.
  10. This is really cheap, and I hope that this will be final pricing. Just the PF parts in pasenger train are now worth more than whole train here (battery 57euro, charger 25euro, motor 12 euro, receiver 17euro, remote 15euro = 126euro). I hope that this does not mean that we will not get charger or that the battery will not be rechargeable but some new type of enclosure for ordinary battries. And with cargo train you get one railcar more, and truck (which would otherwise cost at least 25euro) and crane (also at least 20euro if sold separately). But again, if we take in consideration that prices of RC train sets were the same it makes more sense. So, it looks like my Emerald night will get proper battery after all, and I will easily convert red train to 9V.
  11. It's now more than 30 year ago:
  12. Yeah, I tried that also, but it's not working as good as PF drive, because of the driving rods. Whole system works alot better if wheels are diven and not pushed. I had that system for some time, but after our trainshow I decided to buy at least motor and receiver. As I said, I plan to buy new PF train and use those parts for my emerald night. If the price will really be around 140euros, and knowing that just PF parts are worth 115 euro, that will be one cheap train.
  13. Yeah, it sticks out a lot, but it's better then nothing. Rechargeable battery and charger cost almost 80euro in europe and are only available over S@H, which we dont have in Slovenia. I hope to get both in one of new trains which are easier to convert than EN.
  14. I think it might be this one:
  15. I tried that myself and it worked ok. You have to just move tvo slopes from the backside of the tender further back and hte battery then fits ok. It sticks out for 1-2 bricks height, but it's not higher then the rest of the train, so it's ok. Battery life is ok, better then i expected.
  16. Baseplate is bright green? I find that very strange. Or is it normal green, just a little bit brighter. And the price seems realy high too. I was expecting something in yellow house range, but this is almost twice that 4996 - 522pcs - 35usd ("yelow house") 4956 - 731pcs - 50usd ("white house") 4954 - 1174pcs - 70usd (tan "town house") 6754 - 956pcs - 60usd (tan "family home") 5891 - 539pcs - 60usd ("Apple tree house") It has almost the lower pisece count at almost the higher price. I hope that you are wrong about the price. Correction: I see on Brickset that price is 44,95 which is more reasonable. And some people got it with 20% discount which is even better.
  17. It uses 2 channels (=4 motors), the same as bulldozer. And bulldozer "out of the box" uses just one channel at the time and you have to switch between moving it and operating the blade and ripper. So, that still leaves us option of motorizing the movement of new excavator (out of the box it will support only operating the arm and rotation of cabin). However I certainly afree that 4 channel technology of PF system will soon reach it's limit.
  18. Notice the fence on the walkway? I think is't what can be seen in the lower right corner in the video.
  19. I think that this picture is in wrong aspect and everything appears to be too high. Reduce it by 25% vertically and you will see that thing are more life like. Red train is then normal, walkway also...
  20. Cool! It's clear why there are two remotes: so you can control all four excavating functions at the same time (rotation, lifting of the arm, articulation of the arm and bucket). Rotation doesn't need LA, so if there are four LA's, probably two are used for lifting of the whole arm, because of high weight of the arm with motors. If there are just 3 LA's, then its probably done like in 8294 (motors in main body and driving of LA's with axles and joints), with probable addition of one motor in first part of the arm (where weight is still not such a problem then at the end of the arm).
  21. This folder is not yet public?
  22. Ther's no need for a guide. You just need money (around 500euro) and a few days to assemble everything. The real challenge will be to get Cafer Corner an Market Street for a reasonable price, so I suggest that you start with that.
  23. I got answer from LEGO direct with detailed instructions how to download it so on, but again with link to WRONG instructions. They sent me the link to book3 for B model which I allready got and its also on their site.
  24. Yeah, I was suprised to se them too. I bought mine in a hurry almost two years ago as it was said that its expected to be gone soon. And now it's still in the shops and prices are getting lower an lower. When I bought mine I paid 140eur and I thought I get it for good price (regular prices were around 160-170euro). Now, those sets that you seen on the lower shelf are selling for 109euro and no one seems to be buying them. It was even cheaper around black friday sales (they're not called like that here, but its also the time when there are alot of sales), the price was 100euro.
  25. I was surprised to find this in our local shop (in Slovenia). Unfortunately my budget for lego for this year is used so I did not buy (and even if I had extra money I would probably buy something else, beacuse this is just another buggy) It would be nice to see review from some other though. Maybe this set is also hiding some surprises, like 8049 Price: 29eur
