Does the tilting work properly? -

I am not sure how many parts are common, but having 42030 would help a lot, because my L250G uses three LA's, Unimog tires, two IR receivers, two L motors (drive/rasing the bucket) and two M motors (tilting the bucket/steering). The chasis is similiar to 42030, only tighter. And it uses two small turntables instead of one. Yes, it does use two mini LA's for steering and it works smoothly. There are no PF lights, due to lack of free space inside the hull. I have used almost every space avaialble for routing the cables from motors and receivers, and I don't have idea where to put cables from lights. So it will be used only in day ;) Also, unlike L580, Volvo lacks of opening door in cabin. I don't have pics of completed loader, but I can show you some WIP photos: http://www.majhost.c...ry.cgi?f=289218 Good luck :) No, it is not. It fits perfect dimensions from Liebherr blueprints. -

Caterpillar? Not. Volvo? Oh yes :) https://www.youtube....h?v=c5Tzn0ePL6Q It is still a WIP though, I am waiting for stickers from 42030 set. Built in five days, no idea how many time it will take to make LDD version of it. I have few models almost ready for presentation, but literally no time for taking pictures of them with sunlight. And I hate taking pictures and recording movies with lamps. I did not tried to rebuild L580 to fit Volvo bucket, as I said earlier, I built different loader, built straightly to work with that bucket. Removing bracket from LA will not change anything, whole front needs heavy rebuilt, including changing configuration of axles driving the LAs and arm/pivot points. -
MAN TGS Tipper Truck

Yes it will. Jurgen's excavator is 20 studs wide, so is my trailer. I have pictures taken, but I did not have time to edit them and make a presentation. -

I know, it will look better on a Volvo loader ;) -
Efferman's Custom Parts

It will work IF middle LA will be placed closer to the cab. I have built frame for new loader, which has different setup of LAs and it works smoothly. BTW, building frame for a loader in one day is quite funny. -

Do you have a mechanism that will be able to raise dumping bed? -

Ech... Volvo bucket fits dimensions of L580. -

It will not work, because when fully extended its end was above the smaller bucket. Volvo bucket is higher, so LA can't retract fully. Yes, but 42030 set is built in ~1,22 scale. Even L580 does not fit 1:17 scale (but it's close to it). I wanted to build my own 350F, but even with this new large bucket it can't be made in the same scale (1:17) as my trucks. For example, Volvo L250 built in 1:17 scale requires wheels that have 11cm in diameter. I am looking for loaders that will fit perfectly to scale. Or maybe it's a bad idea? -

Well... After seeing Volvo set in action I wanted its bucket. Now I have it, and I tried to mount it on L580. Unfortunatelly, it will not work, due to middle LA length. So it is just placed on the arm, only for making those pictures. I have two options now - rebuild half of the model, or make a new loader with that bigger bucket. I will take second option. Probably this one: -
MAN TGS Tipper Truck
M_longer replied to M_longer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Aha, I have forgot to answer that, sorry :) Yes, the chassis is studless, built around motors and liftarm frames. Also, I have almost finished 4 axle drawbar trailer built for transporting L580, when my BL order arrive, I will start making LDD files for complete set. -

Both have four axles... :) There's nothing unusual there, two reductions, total final gear ratio is 1:2.779. I will start working on LDD model tomorrow. -

Let's move with the discussion about the truck to more adequate topic, shall we? ;) http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=97848 -
So... the model was built in two weeks for contest held on LUGPol. I did not had enough time to built new cab, but I have almost finished MAN TGS tow truck, so I have made copy of it, in yellow. Rest of the truck was built to be rigid and child-proof (main goal of the contest was to built dump truck that could by used by kids on upcoming LUGPol's exhibition in Warsaw, I had second place by the way.) There are three motors in total; Servo for steering, XL motor for drive and L motor for raising the tipper bed. It was supposed to lift at least one kilogram, so I decided to build it as side tipping truck Cab can be tilted, allowing to change battery boxes with ease. And here you can see how it works (in pair with my L 580): After publishing on LUGPol forum, tipper bed received small modification on side door , there's no risk that something will fall off from the tipper bed.

I will start making LDD models after I finish buliding that low loader trailer, I promise ;) -

Hello. First of all, I don't read forums so often as I used to do, so if someone has a question for me, write a PM. Unfortunatelly, there are no instructions for any of my models, except this L580. But it will change, I have to make some tweaks in my Kenworth W900 dump truck, and after that, I will go make virtual model, which will be used for making instructions -

Yeah, the biggest problem with this model is its age. It was built in 2009 and I was sure that it will be disassembled few days after publishing its pictures, so I did not payed attention where every element was placed. But we have 2014 and it is still intact. EXCEPT those missing LED lights, which are currently in my blue Kenworth W900 (which also should be disassembled long time ago...) I am just too lazy to take them apart :D -

Unfortunatelly, 6x6 dish does not exist in yellow :( This is the reason why I am using that 62.4 wheels as wheel caps. -
