I think you should add one of the hills and have Elves shooting at the orcs. You have definitely captured the feel of the scene though. -

You are right. I think it would be good in dark shiny gray. ( What do you call that color? It would be like the Ringwraith sword but dark gray instead of black.) Or use this one: That's what I use.- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion

I think people want a mold like in the game: But I think the long sword is just fine. But I do think LEGO should use that old sword that's really long and shiny. The Harry Potter one. Looking closer at FBTB's pics, I noticed a few things: Frodo has a new face indeed! One side is worried, the other angry. Aragorn's cloak is double sided! Brown and red! I haven't seen this since the 2003 Lando fig! Gandalf looks like he has a new face in the Wizard Battle. The Palantir spins....... And Sharky can be booted off his chair! Gondor map in Corsair ship!- 7,499 replies

Hey, I got one too! It's better than the pictures! The active thing makes sense, because I picked up the Holiday Cottage, Helm's Deep, Mines of Moria, and Bag End all in December.

I was surprised at the prices for these. They are so cheap! $30 for the stagecoach? $50 for Colby City? $70 for the mine? I noticed this also with the LOTR sets. Licensed sets are getting cheaper! ( except as normal, SW gets even more pricey.)

Pictures! Yay! Wizard Battle-the best small set I've seen in a while. Saruman looks great, and I KNEW they would use that piece for the Palantir. (BTW does Saruman use Dooku's head? It looks like it.) Council of Elrond- I like this set a lot. Arwen and Elrond look wonderful. And $30? Are you kidding me LEGO? I thought $40 for sure! It seems with the Lone Ranger sets too that licensed sets are getting cheaper. Black Gate-this is my favorite actually. The eagle looks good with printing and the whole structure is bigger than I thought. Plus, it's $60! Corsair Ambush- better than I thought. The Army of the Dead looks very impressive. The ship is huge and has lots of cool details. The little Orc thingy is really dumb but kinda cute. The fact that it's $99 instead of $119 makes this a win too. Helm's Deep game-I love this. Games based on a theme are really my thing, and I LOVED the Hobbit game, and this exceeded my expectations. I wonder how much it is.- 7,499 replies

I only think they will be out until the new wave comes. So about June. I just grabbed an Orc Forge to complete my collection. Better safe than pay Bricklink prices.

HUNGER GAMES! HUNGER GAMES! HUNGER.....oh I think you get the point. I would adore Hunger Games sets, and with Catching Fire this fall, it would be a great time to see them.

I'm going to post my ideas: Wave 3: Iconic Scenes Resting in Lorien: tree model from the game and the Mirror with waterfall. Minifigs would be Frodo (white shirt and suspenders), Galadriel, Celeborn, Legolas (Lorien elf garb) $40 Fangorn Forest: Treebeard and a giant rock to throw. Minifigs: Merry, Pippin, Grishnakh $20 Amon Hen Attack: the Seat of Seeing ruins, a few brick built trees, and a catapult to launch Lurtz. Minifigs: Boromir, Lurtz, Aragorn, and 2 Uruk-hai.$50 Osgiliath Ambush: the bridge where Frodo stands, a brick-built Fell Beast, and a tower. Minifigs: Frodo, Faramir, Nazgul, Sam, an Orc, and a Gondor soldier. $60 Edoras: basically just a down scaled Golden Hall. Anything else would sacrifice the size of the hall. Inside it would have a rotating chair. Minifigs: Theoden (Old), Grima, Theoden, Aragorn, Gandalf the White, Hama, and Eowyn. $80 Minas Morgul: the fortress with lots of glow in the dark tiles. Minifigs: Frodo, Sam, Gollum, and 6 Nazgul. $100 (exclusive) -
I thought I should post this here because it was a 2012 set. Is the Riddles for the Ring function supposed to go like the box art? Mine only pushes the right rock out a bit and that's all.

Purist LOTR and Hobbit figs

Well, I guess I'll share a couple of designs. The first is Faramir. I would use the Rohan archer legs, body, and head and Boromir's hair and cape. -

This is a great set! It would go along nicely with the Grand Carousel from a few years back. -
Does anybody know how to get the statue down from Osgiliath? I see the chest but however many times I hit it it will not come down. And does anybody know the location of the Mithril Fishing Rod plan thingy? And here is Gil-Galad.
