Prequel and CW-fans. The latter being hurt the most, I guess but at least we got some nice parting gift, the Police Gunship. I am however looking forward to the Rebels-sets, even though it will depend much on how the show goes. I was not a CW fan in the beginning... Same here, I like all the Naboo-ships, but they are probably difficult to make in Lego.

Same here, I would like to see it as I am strongly considering buying the set myself. Btw, I may know it already, but the German Lego website has listed all the Winter 2014 sets and many of them have nice little promo videos; here is the Vulture Droid e.g.: http://www.lego.com/de-de/starwars/products/episodes-i-to-vi/75041

No difference at all: http://static3.wikia..._cammonitor.png CW http://static1.wikia...Thiresenate.png E.3 Only Commander Fox Phase II has a unique design but he is not available in Lego. However, Lego has the habit of making slightly different prints for CW and Movie clone armour, even if they are identical in design. But as long as there are no movie Shock Troopers the CPG ones will nicely fit, imo.

Sorry, I missed that. Indeed in this case it is probably the Death Star Trooper renamed or perhaps given a black cap (unless that one is the Imperial Officer of course).

They are hard to come by these days, so I understand you. My situation is different as I have two Commandos and one Commando Captain already, which is enough for me. That said, I am such a fan that I might consider buying a BP if it is nice. I am just afraid, we will not see them again because they are a CW-creation and CW-Lego seems to be dead; if the summer wave is an indication SWR is the new big thing. The movies however are always en vogue, so there is hope that Lego will be doing a movie version of the Senate Guard, maybe a battlepack with both styles: E.1 and E.3. I think it is more likely they would be paired with another Republic unit, but what? The obvious choice would be the Red Guard, but that one is done already in the actual Death Star-BP. Judicials? That may fit, but probably would not sell well... Clone Shock Troopers? Well, we have them in the Police Gunship, which actually increases the odds: the actual BPs include one type of released figures (at least in molds) and one entirely new.

In the EU they are more or less the same, but I think Lego means the grey shirt enlistet crewmen, which I would like to see.
-
This would be so great! Especially since I like many of the figures but would not buy the sets they usually come with. Well, all Senate Commandos belong to the Senate Guard, but not every Guardsman is a Commando. They could go together, although I would prefer a battle pack with Senate Guards and BX Commando Droids - these faced off in CW: http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121211042618/starwars/images/1/1d/Peace_conference.png

Huh? The actual micro-fighter wave includes one.
-
Although I agree with the general sentiment, most of the "Republic figures" are Clones and Clones and Clones... The Senators and non-Clone military personnel is needed - Bail Organa - Mas Amedda - Ryu Chuhi - N. Papanoida (George Lucas!) - Senate Guard (E.1&E.2) - Senate Guard (CW) - Senate Guard (E.3) - Admiral Yularen - Human Fleet Officer - Tan Divo - Coruscant Underground Police - Coruscant Police Droids - Lux Bontheri

AT-OT + Galactic Marines = insta-buy. Anyway, does the absence of any CW-set for summer mean the CW-line is dead? I knew it would eventually die, but I had hoped for at least another wave. Currently, I just look forward to the Rebels-sets. None of these OT-sets appeal to me.

I recently bought this although I still not know exactly why, maybe because I liked the Mandalorian-Maul-story arc. Anyway, this set is seriously odd. I mean, the speeder is the one used to rescue Satine, and she is not included - neither are her companions. The Super Commandos only pursued the speeder but never got close to it until the crew disembarked. Maul got "normal" robotic legs before he set foot on Mandalore, so he is in the wrong place too. He also had robes on Mandalore so you can't really use the minifig or its torso for a Mandalore-story. Nevertheless, the speeder is accurate (except the gun), as are the minifigs themselves. They just don't go well together. Unfortunately this means my last hope of getting a Duchess Satine minifigure is lost, too. PS: the helmets are really cool. Really cool. I can see why Lego did them despite the fact that we will never see the Maul Commandos again on screen.

It is hardly Lego's fault that Jackson&co decided splitting the movie. And, to be frank after watching DoS, they should not have done this anyway. Lego is between a rock and a hard place picking the right sets, especially since the Hobbit is movie difficult to get sets out of it. Just imagine the Mirkwood Spiders and the Barrel Escape had come with this wave - it would look much better, would'nt it? In the last wave, they were just out of place. The only glaring omission not counting those two, imho, is the lack of the Dwarven Forges and Smaug. But how to make a set out of it? I just hope they get the Battle of the Five Armies right. I have been waiting for armoured Dwarves ever since Gimli mentioned them in the movie. And seeing them in the first Hobbit really made me wanting them more.

I am not an army builder and admittedly, pure army building sets seldom appeal to me. But sometimes they do. Let me explain: In a character driven world like LotR/Hobbit I have very little desire buying tons of soldiers. Helm's Deep, the Orc Forge and the Urukhai army were almost that I needed (plus Legolas). I understand many AFoLs hold different views on that matter. It is a little different with Star Wars, where the Clones have become stars of their own (and the license may allow for battle packs). But even in the SW universe, I found the Mandalorian battle pack with four identical figures to be the worst set for quite some time. The point is, I would buy battle packs for certain scenarioes, but I strongly dislike if they only include multiple identical figures. Give me at least variations. Like the recent Utapau-set, two Airborne Troopers, two regular Troopers. That was ok with me. Two Rohirrim and two Urukhai... I would consider it.

On another matter: I criticized that the Police Gunship did not include Policemen. I just rewatched the episode with this ship and it apparently was manned by Shock Troopers. Thus it is just screen accurate to include them. And, also, it does look very good in Lego, after watching the CGI version.
-
I daresay all of them have a lot more screentime than the blick-and-you-miss-them Airborne Troopers in one movie - especially the Death Star Troopers (Navy Trooper actually...) which could be seen quite a lot all the OT-movies, be it in firefights on the Death Star and Endor, guarding some room (they form Tarkin's guard e.g.), or carrying away an officer Vader choked to to death. And the Clone Pilots were featured heavily in the Clone Wars, just think about the Malevolence attack, unless you refer to the newer incarnations. So, I agree with you that the Airborne Troopers are there for the clone loving army builders, which make up a large part of the Lego Star Wars fans - sadly, imho, since I would prefer characters like Bail Organa or Mas Amedda. But they are not "action-y" enough. I perfectly understand that reasoning, I'd probably do the same if I ran Lego, but I still don't like it.

We have a lot Snowspeeders by now and the last one is from this year... I would like the Y-Wing as well, but the last one is from 2012. Not sure if that is enough time. I definetly miss Davish Krail. What I am missing more though is a Clone Wars Y-Wing. The last one is very old (2009) and we do not have a regular red highlighted Y-Wing.
-
Same here! What is the problem Fordo? They even gave the legs of the Airborne Troopers asymetrical printing to match the arms. This is rather detailed imo. I'd would question the rationale to create a new mold for this helmet, since the Airbornes don't have much screentime. And with the demise of the Clone Wars, they won't get any more.

Excellent! Funny and well build, even though I would not have given Anni's hair to Boba.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Flieger replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thank you, I did not knew that! I actually intended this for the holoprojector in Palpatine's office, so this one is kind of out... but hopefully Lego will release some translucent minifigs, or better: a translucent microfigure (love those). -
When it comes to Lego, I am more of a PT-fan despite my age, but still yes: the Gunners are great and the pack would have been even greater with the Death Star Troopers. Nonetheless, since I missed the early sets with the Royal Guards and do not have the money (or space) for the DS, this set was a great opportunity getting them. And since they have more screentime in the PT and furthermore appear in the Clone Wars series, this set is well suited for PT-fans too. My guards are standing in Palpatine's office now.

That was the Senate Commando, a special forces unit of the Senate Guard. It was also released with a Venator set and a magnet set. They are cool and I have them, of course, but they are more the down-to-earth business soldiers, rather than the ceremonial guard with their long robes and ancient rifles. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Senate_Commando Here you see Senate Guard and Senate Commando side by side: In E.3 the Senate Guard also had a slight redesign of the helmet, removing the crest and adding visor, and yet another version was presented later in the Clone Wars (when they had the budget for robes...).
-
Yes, but if I really want a set, like the Death Star Troopers, I am ready to pay a little more - just not for the average battle pack. For those I would like a much lower price.
-
Sadly, the Red Guard/Royal Guard would be more appropriate to this set then the Senate Guard, which I want to see the most. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Senate_Guard http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Guard Sadly, the Senate Guard being the good guys standing behind a bland Chancellor never made the same impact like the Royal Guard being the evil guys standing behind the dreaded Emperor... But I still do not give up my hopes to finally see the Senate Guard.

I am afraid most scenes are pretty graphic, but I never quite understood Lego's stance on that. What I would like to see is a set on Ki-Adi Mundi and the Galactic Marines. @ EpicRunner, Yodas Hut would be nice! But I would rather think of a larger set like Bilbo's house. After all, we may have the chance to recreate it almost up to scale. @ Sir Brickalot, As it has been said before, the Tuskens and Jawas need a revisit. And I also like the Hoth Ion Cannon idea although I would rather give it a Rebel fire control team. A dreamset of mine that will not happen: - The Zillo Beast: H2 Executive Shuttle with Senate Commando, Palpatine, Padme, Anakin and perhaps R2 and C3PO, and - the highlight - the brickbuild Zillo beast

Very well, there is quite some power for such a small mechanism and I lost a few studs...
