I have to disagree on these points. Taking a look at what was done with the new AT-AP inside, there could have been so much more inside of the AT-AT. Even the AT-TE with a relatively spartan troop compartment in the rear at least had such a troop compartment that can be recognized as such. With all the space in the AT-AT at least some features could be in. Even an empty room would be better than seeing all the technic struts. It looks like you can easily add a troop compartment yourself, though. I wonder what could be done. As for having it closed anyway... with that set, you have to have it closed. No seriously, part of the charm Lego has is the playability. I don't want a scale model, I want a set I can toy around with from time to time. And if I were a kid I would like a play-set that can make good use of the minifigs. Take the AT-TE again: you can see the gunner and the driver "at work". On a lesser extend this is true for the AT-AP with its nice hatches to have a look into the cockpit. But if I put the AT-AT driver and the commander in the vehicle, you cannot see them. The minifigs are wasted. And that is the real shame for they are brilliant! I know it is an almost impossible task making them visible inside the set due to the scale, but that is why the troop compartment is so important to me - it is the only space you can "realistically" open up to see the interior. Don't misunderstand me, I think the set is nice and were I an OT collector I would buy it. (For some strange reason I am a PT collector, although I like the OT films a lot better...).

No, I am not much of a builder... I just enjoy good builds like yours.

No need to apologise, after all the Neimodian is not that misplaced since his colour scheme would blend in very well, I think. And Lego has featured the Vulture in its Outer Kashyyyk clip. Speaking of Kashyyyk, the only great omission at the moment seems to be the AT-RT driver: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/AT-RT_driver New camouflage and new helmet... and it is a good excuse for a new Kashyyyk AT-RT, as the last was 501st-blue and CW.

Very nice! I liked the concept of the Lancer the moment I saw it, and I also like your version of it a lot! So, is the next one the Droid Lancer?
-
Well, to be honest I don't. Even when I was a kid this kind of transport seemed terribly stupid to me. The set might be interesting for army builders, but the actual build... hm.
-
That would be great for I like the design of the AT-DP; it is actually the only Rebels set so far I am inclined to buy.
-
Now that I have seen the New Yoda Chronicles I can only repeat the wish for this:
-
I think in such a Kashyyyk 3-in-1, the Droid Gunship would be a better set than the Vulture Droid for it has another Kashyyyk trooper, and the Neimodian of the Vulture seems a bit misplaced on Kashyyyk.
-
Do you think any of the new Rebels set will include Agent Kallus? I think it is likely that the TIE advanced will come with the Inquisitor, but I would love to have a set with Kallus - especially his helmet.
-
Thanks, I did not know that. It also lends the Lego movies even more credibility if the new TIE was not just a joke. It is likely that other elements of the Yoda chronicles also make it... Sabe and/or Padme would be great.

There is really no argument in favour of the old sets when Lego does improve all the time. Even in the few years since my dark ages I saw notable improvements. And I am really glad I missed these old Star Wars sets when I see pics like these. I respect the collector's mind, it is just not mine. While I am not a kid, I like the playfeatures of Lego. It is not that I would play like I did when I was a child, but still I like toying around a bit from time to time. I mean, if I want a screen accurate scale model then I buy, well, a scale model! Not a Lego model.

To be fair, the last wave has been dominated by the OT sets, and recent OT sets like the A-Wing are still perfectly good, so I understand why Lego is shifting it - especially with Rebels coming. In fact, if I come to like Rebel (like I came to like CW in the last seasons!) I probably will be glad about the Rebels set. On the other hand, judging from what we saw, Rebels goes even more into the kid-zone than CW (which gradually left it, I think). If you refer to the Clone Troopers vs Droideka-set... That one was really bad; neither does the command central work at that scale, so the build is useless, nor does the set work as army builder having only two clones, one of them a coloured NCO to make matters worse. Getting enough plain white, "enlisted" AotC clone troopers is quite a challenge. Therefore I hope we get them in this battlepack. Some movie Geonosians would also be very nice; Poggle is pretty alone atm... The Republic Gunship microfighter hopefully has a Phase-I-pilot to finally fill the second spot in the big Gunship. As for the other microfighters: every non-droid seperatist minifig would make the sets must-buy imo. I got the recent Vulture only because of the Neimodian. And I hope the AT-AT comes with a Snowtrooper, army building ftw.

Thanks for your input! Interesting that the opinion is so much in favour of the AT-AP, but I got to admit, the minifigs are better. (And I do have a Mace Windu from Palpatine's Arrest already). -

... not to mention you get a Gray Squadron pilot which is perfectly suited for the Y-Wing in a RotJ-scenario! I have a question: Should I buy the AT-TE (2013) or the AT-AP (2014) + Kashyyk-troopers? The price for these two options is about the same and I like walkers... what about playability, size, model accuracy? -
tbh, the lack of play-features is what makes me refrain from buying this set. The minifigs are great, and I want to have them all, but the AT-AT is just a posable model with two spring loaders. All the minifigs can do is stand in front of that model. The troop compartment is non-existent, there is just some space that happens to be empty. You can open the cockpit but then what? You cannot look into it when closed, i.e. in 99% of the poses. No ramp for the troops to disembark, no other transport options (I liked the speeder bike), just nothing. If I want a model, I'd prefer a UCS set, even though I have to admit that this AT-AT is a pretty good model.

Sure! I am just afraid that lone candle won't last long, will be replaced by another, whereas his superiors probably pop up every week again even when defeated by some kids.
-
Why is it that there are no bad guys so far? I mean they would be a major selling point, wouldn't they? I expected them in the 2014 line actually. I am not very much impressed by the visuals of Rebels, but Agent Kallus certainly looks nice as a minifig.
-
I mean the 75051 "Jedi Hunter" set, which probably features the Inquisitor from Star Wars Rebels. Edit: never mind, it seems to be a Yoda chronicles set. My bad... For some reason, we got them earlier in Germany, which is unusual, but I don't complain, even though I prefer the English dub. You can watch them for free (if you have a German IP, I guess): http://www.superrtln...-clone-wars.php But I recommend watching them on the big TV screen, and the stream does not seem to allow the quality...
-
To be honest I find them rather stereotype characters... Kanan may work out well, because - stereotype or not - such a character can be amazing. Ezra however makes me feel like it is a kids show, again. I have mixed feelings. But indeed, getting more background makes the sets more interesting! What happened to the Inquisitor set? Any news on that? We all know that baddies sell well.
-
They were regularily aired on Super RTL, Germany, as planned.
-
I hope for a microfighter with a figure that is usually hard to come by like the Emperor or the new Scout Trooper; alternatively some new ones like ARF Troopers in digital Geonosian camouflage; and - most important - Senators! Bail Organa, Riyo Chuchi, Padme...
-
I just saw the first four episodes of the Clone Wars Season 6. Not much materiel for Lego so far: some Kaminoan craft, a Taxi, shielded troopers... But, seeing Kamino again, I think we need a Kamino set. (But the episodes were good! More background on Order 66).
-
Just saw Episode one again: Chancellor Valorum's Shuttle Build: Shuttle and maybe landing platform Minifigs: Chancellor Valorum, Senator Palpatine, 2x Senate Guard Oh yeah, look how wrong I was... Obviously snowspeeders seem to sell well.

REVIEW: Lego Star Wars 75046: Courscant Police Gunship
Flieger replied to Tom Jurassic's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thank you for this review! I am still not sure if I shall buy the ship, but they captured the essence of the ship really well I think. This ship is a more of a patrol than a troop carrier, so I am fine with its limited space. It just the usual downsizing of Lego. PS: indeed, not a turret, a search probe. -

Exactly, in my country you could buy them in Lego stores by Christmas already (= big sales as you can imagine), and they are available in the online store now. I think they will hit the other retailers soon.
