    Avalanche sighs, rather disappointed at not being chosen for the quest. He heads back to the table.

    Avalanche sees the new quest on the board. "Might as well," he says to himself. He signs up for Quest #87: The Marketplace Mystery

    "Oh no, I'm not superstitious. There's nothing wrong with you- but I'm fine. It's healing already and it looks much worse than it actually is," replied the yeti.

    Avalanche smiles ruefully, "Yeah...but then a new hero challenged me to a battle in the arena and...well, he won. It was all down to dumb luck, of course." He looks up to see Karie approaching. "Hello. I don't think we've met before. I'm Avalanche."

    Avalanche returns to the Hall, sporting a black eye and a cut on his shoulder from the recent battle in the Arena. He sees Purpearl sign her name under Quest 86. "Hi again," he says, walking up to her. He looks at the gold-cloaked Admin. "I wonder why Octavyn is always in disguise... Remember when we met him on the quest? He looked very different then."

    Avalanche rejected the hand. "I'm fine." He slowly got up, wincing at the powerful blow Baradock had dealt him. "Well done. You fought bravely and deserved the win," he said gruffly but kindly, "Not bad for a Level One."

    I'd like to go on the sequel to #83, but I'd love to go on a Grim Grinning Ghosts sequel! I've always wanted to go on one of those quests.

    Is one of those quests the 'newbie quest'? I was surprised that there was no magic involved in the murder. It seemed implausible for it to have been committed by hand and poison alone... We never thought about Connor's Wolfgang ties either, although we did consider the suicide option. For some reason, I didn't suspect Abigail at all- even when she confessed. I thought that it would be a rather bad idea to have the murderer be already suspected and captured before the heroes were called in. But I had a lot of fun- and so did Avalanche!

    Avalanche gasped in pain as he felt the halberd enter his shoulder. Growling, he lifted Trollsbane above his head and brought it down on Baradock from the front row.

    Avalanche sees Octavyn standing by the quest-board. "Hi. I think I remember you from the...erm, incident at the Hinckwell villa. You helped to bring in Abigail. She actually wasn't the murderer after all- it was a mysterious blonde woman who conspired with one of the guards and then killed him afterwards." While he is chatting, he signs up for Quest#86: Gaiden. He then sees Cryos' challenge on the board. At once, he grabs Trollsbane from where it leans against the wall. "I have a duel to get to. Sorry!" He runs out of the Hall.

    @Kintobor That's why I was gonna go on your quest. But I guess I have options. Great! I'd love to go on an all-newbie quest! And another Kintobor quest.. Besides, who's running the Arena? I'm due to fight Cryos pretty soon.

    Avalanche entered the arena, wielding Trollsbane with a fighter's ease. "I, Avalanche (Dragonfire) accept Baradock (Cryos)'s challenge to a duel. For glory!"

    Avalanche approached Portia. "Could I please have a Phoenix Essence?" He purchased the bottle, leaving him with 43 gold.

    I loved Quest 83! The storyline was enjoyable and the battle was challenging but not too hard. The mystery was fun to solve! I only wish we could have fought the murderer at the end and cleared the whole thing up- or is this quest the first in a story arc?

    Avalanche trudges through the open doors of the Hall, everything seeming so more familiar to him than it had on his last visit. He felt older and wiser too, with his new club slung over his back and his pouch of gold clinking happily. He was extremely pleased with having completed his first quest.

    Avalanche mumbles a goodbye to the other heroes before leaving for the hall.

    Avalanche replies, "She must have been a magic user. She locked the door behind her when she entered, and she vanished using a portal."

    Avalanche listens to what Purpearl has to say, "Good idea, but I think he couldn't have slashed at her after he was stabbed. She probably said that she didn't want any witnesses and then he got angry and attacked her. And Lieutenant, we found a poison-laced dagger in Sassina's back. I think Arasmyth or Heckz has it..."

    "That could well be it, Purpearl. You may have just hit the nail on the head there," exclaims Avalanche.

    Avalanche says, "Sassina could have been betrayed and stabbed by this blonde woman. But that question is puzzling. Maybe he drank the wine with the sleeping agent in it by accident, before his lover arrived and convinced him to kill the other guards. But why kill St Germain in such an odd way?"

    "Blonde-haired woman...isn't there a Wolfgang witch who has blonde hair and can vanish through magical portals? Just a guess here..." muses Avalanche. "I suspect Sassina and this blonde woman of committing the murders." OOC: Due to his Natural Respite job trait, Avalanche should have full health. And he has equipped Trollsbane.

    Avalanche continues questioning Abigail, "Marcus Sassina is dead. If you killed him, you wouldn't have said that he was going to kill you. And what did you see that he didn't want the others seeing? Hmm?"

    Avalanche produced the small bottle of alchemist's fire from a pouch around his waist. "Abigail, why did you kill the men in completely different ways, and if you did commit the murder, why did you leave this bottle here as obvious evidence? Why not take it with you and throw it into the bushes somewhere?"
