Mortimer doesn't take his eye off Seerus, his whole body tense. He says nothing, his words caught in his throat. He draws his bow taut.
-
"Let us press on, then." Mortimer orders, shield raised and ready.
-
Mortimer sighs. "I am ready. Let us kill him when everyone else is."
-
Mortimer does as told, trying to take deep, shuddering breaths, his hand clamped around his bow. "I'm of no use here," he spits.
-
Mortimer glances between the door and the blade, running through possibilities in his head but too nervous to physically manipulate the parts.

If we're doing booster packs, we could run them how Pokemon cards are/were run. (3 randoms, Reverse Holo, Rare {or whatever the combination was}) Three randoms, probably low-leveled, then one thing 5-7 and one thing 8-9 or whatever the max level is. I forget. That way you're guaranteed to get a couple good things with each booster pack while leaving things partially random.

My quest could go up at any time if there were some more people were willing to help out with sets. BricksandParts is helping out with a few of them, but I need some people willing to tackle the majority of the quest's sets & figs.

Mortimer fires an arrow at the Oculoid Drone, grinding his teeth. Only fourth? "Damn," he coughs. "Let's haul megablocks! We opened the door; let's go."
-
"Heroes. By name, if nothing else," Mortimer announces. "What are you?"
-
"Could that Oculoid be a clue?" Mortimer asks, glancing around, worried.
-
"Who?" Mortimer asks, staring at the Oculoid, bow drawn.
-
"Aye. We can't finish fast enough," Mortimer mutters, ready.
-
Mortimer nods, scowling. "Fine. If everyone's agreed, set it to blow."
-
"Can you set the bombs with a timer, Punii?" Mortimer asks, keeping his eye peeled. "I'd like to get close to that door before this place falls down around our ears."
-
"Then let's go," Mortimer orders, leading the charge.
-
"I didn't want to," Mortimer spits, frowning deeply, his brow knotting. "I... had to be sure." He turns as guilt etched itself across his face. He slashes again with his knife, cutting open his own palm, speaking to her over his shoulder. "The blood's been repaid. Let's keep moving."
-
Mortimer glares at her outstretched hand. He had no desire to hurt Alice. He had no desire to shed her blood unecessarily. He had no desire to make her suffer further. But his trust--his faith-- was ebbing. He sighed, reaching for his knife. It was sharp, simple, and small enough to fit in a pocket. He takes her left hand in his, bringing the knife up with his right and cutting open her palm-- a gash small enough for her to bleed, but not large enough to cause real damage.
-
Mortimer remains quiet, staring her down for a few heartbeats. "I don't remember seeing you bleed."
-
Mortimer bites his lip, deep in thought. Something had been weighing heavily on him since his talk with Karie. He snapped, speaking softly. "Alice," he mutters. "Open the door."
-
Mortimer glances around, taking shallow breaths to avoid gagging. "Let's see what sort of damage we can do to the plasm pipelines," he mutters. "Unless we see some way of getting past this door? Masson, have you got clearence?"
-
"To the Citadel, then," Mortimer barks, leading the party towards their destination.
-
Mortimer flinches at the mention of Seerus, his eye changing focus to Alice. He glares at her momentarily before snapping his head back forward, grinding his teeth and balling his hands into fists. "The bastard probably knows better. He's not suicidal. Tch. If she turns out to be with them..."
-
Mortimer scowls, growing silent. He brings a hand up to his neck, rubbing the welt that was curled around it. "A deal from the Regret. Trade my life for her sister's. Hammer to the head, hand around the neck, face down, lungs filling with water." He clicks his teeth. "Nothing worth talking about."
-
Mortimer nods, glancing around before moving in to speak with Karie. "What is it?"

LOOT: Boomingham - 48 Gold Erdathcath - 48 Gold Jeaux - 48 Gold Johon - Grating Stone Karie - 48 Gold Mortimer - 48 Gold Mortimer glances over the bodies, sighing. "Poor bastards," he mutters, stepping around them towards the citadel. He hesitates, however, deciding to ask the party their opinions regarding their next course of action. "Shall we move on towards the Citadel, or would you like to double back towards Iris' quarters?"
