(Official Unreleased Prototype) Geonosis Arena 2002 Set
LegoAcklay replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
HAHhaha. Thank you! Yeah I have no idea why they made it blue. My only guess would be that they planned to have the Acklay in a blue color in the film but seams unlikely that they had it like that for so long. Funnily enough it's even missing it's front claws. -

Is that a Republic Swamp Speeder in the back? Yeah. They later finally released it. You can still see some of the original features: -

Thank you! And with all the movie sets something classic definitely needs to be made which is connected to Ray Harryhausen.- 16 replies

Review: 6086 Black Knight’s Castle
LegoAcklay replied to metalandi's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't get why the flat base plates are not made like normal plates with stud holes on the bottom. I still like them though since they add more form. -
Hello! This is my Lego Ideas Jason and the Argonauts set. You can find and show any support for it here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/89025 It's based on the classic film Jason and the Argonauts made in 1963. The scene is based towards the ending of the film in which Jason encounter the Hydra which guards the Golden Fleece and then fights seven skeletons which are born from the teeth of the Hydra some minutes later. The special effects of the film where made by the Legendary special effects animator and pioneer Ray Harryhausen which I managed to meet before he passed away in 2013. This set is basically a tribute to the classic film which still stands up well today and of course to Ray himself. The tree which hosts the Golden Fleece on one of it's branches. Some views of the 7 headed Hydra. The Minifigures.

Moc Microfighter AT-AT/AT-ST/Snowspeeder

This is sick! Nice job! This is much better than the ones which you can buy. More accurate and more flexible in the moving parts. -
[MOC] Sarlacc's nectar and the truth about Boba's escape
LegoAcklay replied to DanSto's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Amazing! Just one thing do you plan to make the whole top section of the Sarlacc? If you could do that I think it would be beyond epic. Maybe as a feature which can be added on to this section. -
Here are a prototype version of the Acklay and Reek which was made in 2002 and later shown for the 2005 Lego Star Wars Weekend in celebration of Episode 3. They decide to cancel this set because one of them believed "it would not sell well". I searched for any remaining photographs which I could find of the set but I have only found these three. If you have any more available please share. It could be interesting to see the Reek in closer details. Especially to see if it has anything on the tail which I have missed. Here below are all three of the beasts together. (The mini Nexu design was made by me) Finally here is a edited version of the Prototype Acklay which I made using the original design. As you can see it has more mobility to it's limbs, some extra details are added and finally the color is corrected.

[LEGO Ideas] Movie Accurate Arena Beasts (minifigure scale)
LegoAcklay replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ah ok I understand now. But like I said I wont be adding any more figures to this particular version of the arena. Howether with that being said their is no reason for me to add it to this one that I'am working on. I'll probably go for Shaak Ti. Thank you! I can only see them using my design for the Acklay's limbs though since they have the tendency to make every Star Wars creature in new molded pieces apart from the Dianoga on-board the Death Star. But I sure hope we reach the 10,000 supporters so that they might make them like this. Will be a lot more fun building them from many different bricks that snapping a few together I think.- 20 replies

[LEGO Ideas] Movie Accurate Arena Beasts (minifigure scale)
LegoAcklay replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thankyou! But I will only be keeping Anakin,Padme, Obi-Wan for this particular set. Want it to be as little as possible for it to have a chance for the Lego review since only the small sets seem to be made so far. I'm even considering in allowing the Geonosian with the Orray to be removed if I start reaching the 10,000 supporters goal.- 20 replies

[LEGO Ideas] Movie Accurate Arena Beasts (minifigure scale)
LegoAcklay replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks! Lets hope I do reach the goal. The voters are steady but there are not many per day. Around 5-8 it seams. But as long as this stays consistent I think we can reach it before the end of the year as long as it gets some viewing after 1000 supports.- 20 replies

[LEGO Ideas] Movie Accurate Arena Beasts (minifigure scale)
LegoAcklay replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thankyou! Probably the most positive comment I read about my set. I know right about the parts. It's quite annoying it's the only thing which has stopped me from making it in reality as I would need to paint the peices so I would rather wait and see if I can reach the Lego Ideas 10,000 supporters goal first. I agree about smaller projects being more tricky you have to really think what part you need to use for each section as you have limited space to apply it into. Meanwhile on the larger stuff you have to spend more time because of how many bricks it needs usually but you have more freedom to use one part or another because of the extra space. By the way did you support? Hopefully it can become a real set soon.- 20 replies

LegoAcklay replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I already added the Arena on a previous project. You can find it here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/87724/updates Thankyou! Though we need as many sets as we can get with different sort of bricks or Lego Mocs could not be created.- 20 replies

[LEGO Ideas] Movie Accurate Arena Beasts (minifigure scale)
LegoAcklay replied to LegoAcklay's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thank's for commenting! And I'm happy that you like the set! I spent some time getting the pillars to a right look. They used to be all round apart from some details on the tip some time ago. I'm happy with how they turned out. I understand about the pricing. I'm guessing it would be more expensive than the bird set if it is made and if Lego would include everything I put in it. The bird set is $44.99 so I guess that could be the pricing of the three creatures on their own. Add another $20.00 for the rest I guess so it could be around the $60-70 price range if you take previous lego Idea project pricing into account. Hopefully it would be a bit less than that.- 20 replies

Hello! This is my attempt at a movie accurate representation of the Geonosis Arena beasts in Lego! I made the design in LDD and Rendered them with Pov-ray since I wanted to be able to use any peice in any color that I needed for the design. If you want this to be a real set make sure to leave a support here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/92060 on the LEGO Ideas website. This is the set which I always wanted from when I saw Attack of the Clones in 2002 from when I was a small kid. Whats yours? By the way I want to know what you would do if Lego made this set. Would you buy it? If so would you display it? Use it's parts to make something else? Play? I would make a Stop-Motion based on all of the Geonosis Arena battle. I would of done it already with the less detiled designs that I got but I want to wait and see if I can reach the projet goal.

Thankyou for the compliment's and thankyou for supporting! By the way nice Mumakil did you add that to lego ideas? Yes, always wondered from when Episode 2 was released. It's one of the biggest scenes in that film. Thankyou! Thankyou for your support! I'm glad you like the Acklay.
