That would be Thornraxx, methinks.
-
Got Rocka, Waspix, and RXL. I like them all. But now I don't want to take apart RXL and it's messing with my customization plans.
-
Then I don't think what you saw was Surge's hand.
-
An ammo belt, probably. There are other spears on it, and it's the same piece used on Iron Man's gun. So yeah, automatic belt-fed crossbow.
-
I'd give a new head mold a higher probability of happening than remodeled helmets. And I wouldn't use BP as a baseline for what to expect. The guy's more prototyped than the troll session Black King.
-
As nice as new helmets or masks are, I prefer a Glatorian or similarly-styled head over the 2.0 head (except for the socket aspect), since it doesn't look unfinished when bare.
-
1.0 feet don't have a built-in socket, so she'll have the new-style single socket piece, and I'd be surprised if the head wasn't remolded. And that doesn't mean they're "switching back", it just means that some of the pieces may be old-style. A vast majority of them will still be new.

No they aren't. Where'd you get that impression? :|

I wonder if the buggy thing will stay silver or if it'll be black/gunmetal like Thornraxx's head.
-
I think it was more like a harness than, say, a cockpit. But I don't think that kind of attachment would work that well, since I think even the smallest sets are now larger than Dume was. Lhikanalo, Fenrakk, those types of thing would be cool, but probably just for villains. Heroes probably fit better with vehicles. Also, the Thornraxx thing. It's pretty clearly something like claws and a tail. Things like insect-like legs were probably left off for being extraneous.

This sounds more reasonable than saying "Action Figures aren't the place for gears" and that you're "sick of all you guys missing the gears" like it's been the dominant complaint in this topic. But I'm not sure I'd consider VN's staff an "action".
-
I get that some people don't like the gears. What I don't get is the argument that these are action figures, so they shouldn't have gears. I mean, what part of the title "action figure" precludes them from having action features? It's right there in the title. I liked the gears (or other functions that didn't necessarily use gears), as they required a bit more complexity to integrate. And they were cool. Yeah they could impede posing, but sets like the Bohrok and Visorak showed that that doesn't have to be the case.

Well we're talking weapons vs. almost living robots here. I don't think their energy needs would be quite the same.
-
It's easier to disregard the issue of ammo, reloading etc. when they're shooting energy, so I think most of them will stay with energy weapons.
-
I think Evo's "extra weapon" is his bug bulk of armor on his launcher arm. Looks useful for punching. Surge doesn't have nearly as much armor, instead having his little electric thing. Breez's looks like the hexagon pattern of her shield (and Rocka's) and Evo's looks like stone or something.
-
Could be that they switched it to keet, could be that the lighting is weird. I'm hoping for the latter.
-
Hey, at most it'd be a parenthetical addition. It's totally within one sentence. But personally I don't see the need for "femininity" at all. I mean, she's covered in giant plates of armor. And she's a robot. If I'm building Captain Space, Defender of the Universe, I'm going to give him or her something practical that works, not something meant to accentuate supposed gender traits.
-
Oh right, I forgot that she needs "realistic" proportions in order to count as a female.
-
Of course now the speculation about the core piece itself. They look like the space in the ring around the H is filled with grey, so either they're two-piece cores or two-color cores. And if they're two-color that might explain why they're all the same instead of personalized.
-
Oh wow. LEGO you so crazy.
-
I don't think Breez should have used the 1.0 feet, at least not in that way. On the 1.0 sets the weird backwards joint and massive gap were mostly covered by the leg armor, but here they're right out in the open. Also, I'm hoping that we're getting a new Glat head mold, and that they'll be solid colors. Because that would be great.
-
Well remember that the first pic of Fire Lord we got looked finalized or nearly finalized, but he had a claw made of Exo-Force robot arms attached to a pickaxe. Pretty sure the picture looked CG, too. Not saying it will happen, but it might. I think Reapa's tanks work better because they're round and smooth, compared to Breez's rockets which aren't smooth and have the gaps and ridges inherent in that rocket design.
-
I was talking about things like Breez's ankle rockets or Furno's spear thing, since they don't seem to fit all that well, at least to me. I know there's going to be some SYSTEM like Reapa's tanks. Also why am I only just noticing that Surge and Evo are smaller then the other heroes. And that Evo is lacking his purple. Oh well.
-
There are definitely some preliminary designs in there, so I expect some of the more SYSTEM-based aspects may change. However, I like what I see. I like it very much. The cuff pieces look great, and so do the new launcher halves. And I hope there's a new head mold and not the same Glatorian heads of old. And I hope that some of the the BIONICLE parts are used in the final sets. Hero design-wise, from what I can see at least, Breez and Evo are my favorites. They seem less cluttered than the others. For the villains, Toxic Reapa gets all my love. He's like Meltdown but better. But there needs to be more consistency in the Hero core designs.
