I think that sums up the topic pretty well. People had heightened expectations (some were really weird, too, like maybe it would include a kraken or something) of what they'd be getting, so what they actually get is a huge letdown, even if it's no worse than many of LEGO's ships in the past. How about instead of imagining what you want it to look like, you imagine a LEGO Pirate ship. Now make it black and add a couple more sails and some new pieces. I mean really, it's no Imperial Flagship, but it isn't horrible.

BZP often gets new sets directly from LEGO for the purpose of bribing us writing reviews. Staff members who sign up to be "Official Reviewers" get these sets and review them. I'm guessing most or all of the "I know for sure I'll be getting…" sets he listed are from LEGO.

Those new armor pieces are definitely going to make Nektann MOCs easier.

Stormer should've been the wolf and Bulk should've been the rhino. Oh well.

That's my thinking. I'm not very interested in the story, so as long as the building system is the same I'm 0k with it. Even if there's a new line and it does change the system, rhere may still be a "transition" year of using the same style of building, like the first year of Hero Factory.

I'm pretty sure he built it right. All the pre-release pictures seem to indicate that the claw attaches like a hand.

The proto-mothership looks awesome. The trans-axes around the edge are especially neat, but I can see why they wouldn't stay, as they'd go flying off if it bumped into anything. Though I do think the flatter canopy would have fit in just fine with the aesthetic, since it's a larger ship.

I dunno about anyone else but I usually overestimate sizes. It feels strange to get such a small piece, but at the same time it makes me appreciate the details more.

It was just mutated speculation over who the female character in the line would be. I don't think we really ever thought it seriously. Or at least I didn't.

You should probably add some descriptions and some more pictures. Most of the shots of the ship are similar and pretty much what the box shows. What does the cockpit look like? The underside? The sound brick? What are the most interesting pieces? How easily does it spin, and does the claw work well?

Striking Venom was $50 according to Peeron. It did have 646 pieces as opposed to the Mothership's 416, but the ship does have those large track pieces and a sound brick.

I wish someone would deactivate the giant robot that forces people to post in subforums of themes they don't like. It's a rather unnecessary use of people's time. Anyway, I want to get both Rockas and Waspix. Mainly for parts, but also for parts.

I don't keep my sets in their boxes. I keep them on the floor in tubs and the loose parts in drawers. Helps consolidate things. Also yay for less unnecessary packaging.
