But not really. I'll be sad to see the sets go, but the story was getting REALLY convoluted. I thought the fresh start on a new planet would help, but it turns out it's just making things crazier. So while I'll miss the story, it has to end before they totally destroy it (now it's only mostly destroyed). Hopefully they'll replace it with another similar line, like they did with Throwbots > Roboriders (ick) > Bionicle. And I hope the Bionicle community sticks around even if Bionicle is not replaced. And before anyone asks, NO, Ben 10 does NOT count as a replacement. I know Bionicle didn't have the most complicated builds, and it didn't have the best parts for price ratio, but... k now I'm depressed. The main evidence is all this Stars nonsense ('cause that's pretty much all it is. I wish they were just special edition non-canon sets...) + the fact that the GBs -might- be revealed, as well as Teridax coming for what seems like a super big climax... Honestly, at this point I will be glad when the Bionicle story ends. Bara Magna was promising but now all this... I just hope Lego replaces it with something similar, and that the community sticks together... ~Bunda

Most of my dreams involve wandering around Wal Mart looking for the Lego isle... but the Wal Mart of nightmares is huge and scary and dimly lit and I'm usually the only person in there. Sometimes I find rare sets/sets that don't actually exist on the rare occasions I find the isle, but then I have to find the checkout... and on the rare occasions I find the checkout, eventually I wake up and I don't actually have the sets. ;_; So now I hate dreaming. I think that's why people loved it. It wasn't that the game was ground breaking or anything... you could hardly even call it a game... but it just looked so nice. Most people (myself included) adore the style of the MNOLG. The style of the flash animations of yesteryear (=P) very much impressed upon me. THAT was Bionicle. This is too, but that was, IMO, the fundamental Bionicle. Whether or not the story was the best back then or not is up to debate. I am inclined to say no. Problem is, later years that had better plot didn't have the flash animations or the absolutely amazing comic art. =P ~Bunda

I wish more people thought this. Also, I know Greg isn't the best writer. I'm not gonna say he's the next Tolkien, but I'm not gonna bash him either. I enjoy the ideas behind the stories, even if the execution is a little wonky sometimes. I enjoy taking an afternoon to read a short book, written for (younger)kids - it's fun. lol He didn't say what canisters. It could have been anything. ~Bunda

They aren't that rare... they come in 12 sets, though 3 of them are rare. I kinda like Taka. He might be a bit bland, but I think the overall effect is still good. But the fact that the mask is the only silver piece other than his blades is a real downer. Should have been white. Also, Av Matoran head. ;_; ~Bunda

A year without Bionicle sounds really nice, actually... it would give me a chance to catch up on older sets I missed. A couple pages ago you were saying that you weren't getting any sets next year. O_o ~Bunda

Sure, it isn't pure yellow, but it's still yellow. I mean, the colors aren't that similar when you compare them, but I don't see why you wouldn't say that Rahkshi is yellow. It's too similar to yellow to be a new power... unless they just throw out the idea of yellow=heat vision and say it's something else. yay ~Bunda

Mantax was pretty important in 2007, too... I wouldn't mind a mini Mantax... ~Bunda

The Piraka should be Zaktan. ;_; Silver Kopaka blade (not the pearly shade from 2006 on) came out in a technic set a long time ago, and Tuma had green Skrall blades. The Ackar flame is new, though... New feet/armor looks good. Tahu having an Av Matoran head does NOT. So long as they don't try to make these canon and there's still the regular line up, they look fine to me. I'll probably grab a few, as I kinda like Agori, and these look like they have more nice pieces for just a bit higher price. ~Bunda

Get Kiina. I have all the legends, bar Vastus, and of them Mata Nui is my least favorite by far. Surprisingly. I felt sure I would like Gelu less. ~Bunda

BZAP I just felt like saying that. It's a sound effect, BTW. I built this MOC of Tufi (and Rayg too, now that I think about it) for that Chaos in the Deep BBC, 'bout two years ago. Unfortunately, I moved from Texas to Hawaii literally the day after the contest deadline, so everything was super hectic and I missed the deadline. And the MOC just sat around, and had parts stolen for other MOCs, until all that was left was miscellaneous Puffin Chunks. Then this contest came around and I said hay, I'll finally finish that Tufi. Well, technically it was already finished... at one point. REGARDLESS I WILL CONTINUE THIS POINTLESS NARRATIVE What was I saying? Ah yes. This is pretty much identical to the old, two-year old MOC. Only difference is the wings and, of course, the club. lol club Yeah, she has a massive club 'cause originally she just had a wand, which was nothing more than a tan axle. Then someone suggested that I build I giant gun but I've been super busy for the last two weeks... I would have made another Admin to complement her, otherwise. What are her majiks, you ask? Yes, Ackar is great. He's got the basic Inika build, but he wears it so stylishly I find him hard to resist. ~Bunda

The Magna Guard capes seem paperish to me. >_> I accidentally a Gelu today. Oh yeah, and Stronius to. Quick facts! Gelu: Blah. The only reason I got him was 'cause there was a fluke at Wal Mart and all the Legends were 11.50 instead of 14.90 something, like they usually are, and like the other Glatorian were. Mask is nice. Snowflakes are k. Recolored chest is pretty. I finally have some white toed-Inika feet. The blades are larger and cooler than expected. But overall? Pretty blah. He's a basic Inika build, but doesn't do it so elegantly as Ackar. Oh, his mask is really cool too. The main draw of this set is the beautiful new pieces, but the overwhelming ehhhhh of the rest of the set kind of cancels the coolness out. Get Ackar if you want a nice Inika, and Strakk if you want a cool ice dude. Stronius: Similar to Strakk, actually. Whereas Strakk is a lithe ice troll, Stonius is a hulking stone troll. With a club. cool.gif There isn't anything stupendously wrong with Stronius (assuming you moved his armor up one stud), so I'll nitpick. Feet could be better. I think Mantax's would have been nice, though they might not have had that spikey look, so maybe these are the best after all. Upper arms need -something-. A Metru leg armor piece would do the job nicely. Unlike Strakk, Stronius doesn't look good with his neck extended, but that's a matter of posing, nothing wrong with the set there. So yeah. Stronius is cool. Gelu is a bit blah. And before you ask, no, I am not getting Vastus. I refuse. ~Bunda Edit: Oops. Copypasta'd from my blog and forgot to remove the bit about BBC 55. Edit2: I forgot to mention that Stronius has a hideous gap in his torso. From the front, it's invisible, but from the side... it's pretty huge. Much worse than Mata Nui's tiny one that everyone complains about. Maybe the same as Gresh, but I don't have him so I can't compare. It doesn't ruin the set by any means, but it doesn't help, either.
