  1. "You will find it hard discussing anything if you are dead! Ready your rifle and help Soren and I! As the group leader, I strongly advise keeping back where you are of best assistance and helping defend ourselves." OOG: Regarding who is on D2, for Legonater, my hope was to take point and tank the initial dagger attack (since it's gross) that will likely come my way, unless WBD tries something sneaky or whatever. Needless to say, I get an attack in if Abam or Maba tries to move past me. I'd prefer to take D2, but that's my personal input.

  3. It doesn't take long for Enson to find what he's looking for, scrap cloth was seemingly in abundance, although to call the cloth "white" wasn't quite correct. Years of being in and among the rubbish had left it an off white. Enson invokes Sustaining Healing on Aysu: (4,6) Two Successes, 3 Vitality Restored! Occasionally the rat will turn back and look at the heroes to ensure that they're following it, before finally they come to a large scrim made of cloth, acting as a barrier going forward. Pulling back the scrim, the party progresses discovers something new. The rat leading the adventurers rubs affectionately against a tall, thin human before running off. His face is a patch work of stubble, a sign of his youth, and his clothes are covered in grime. Safety stripes adorn his coat, and in his hand is a old looking blaster pistol. Aged, yellowing posters line the angled walls where curious, vine like growths don't. Torn, aged furniture is scattered about the tight tunnel, most of it looking like old furniture from the hall. Another emotion enters the heroes heads': anxiousness. The figure before them speaks in a soft voice. "The rats seemed to recognize you. They're a little antsy right now. I don't blame them."
  4. Multiples of two, to my understanding.
  5. Zaria moves to D2 and invokes an Interposing Ward. "I need you two, Soren and Yelana, to have my back, here."
  6. Spicy. "What are people's thoughts? Part of me wants to move up and confront this thug head on, part of me wants to stay back and force him to come to us."
  7. One last question: do other heroes block line of sight? I Zaria moved to E2, would that block Yelana from firing on F2?
  8. Zaria sighed. She was sick of being pushed around. She unsheathed her khopesh from it's sheath, a dazzling shimmer radiating through it as she did so. The steel had a cold, blue glint to it, and occasionally a wave of energy coursed through it like the ocean's tide coming in. "If this is where you choose to have your journey end, so be it. Yelana, it would be best if you stayed back while Soren covers me while I move forward." OOC: Couple of quick questions regarding the fight. Do Abam and Maba have the same movement speed (as in Abam and Maba move two squares as a collective) or do they each get a move (as in Abam moves and then Maba moves)? Also, do the shelves provide any sort of cover?
  9. MM Note: I'll have images ready for tomorrow. I want to get something for you guys to interact with up tonight. Athletics Proficiency Checks (DC 2): Valesia (1,2,5) 1 Success, Enson (3,4,4) 2 Successes, Aysu (1,3,4) 1 Success The party descends down into the chute, which is more difficult due to needing to move garbage while climbing down, and the path into the bowels of the garbage disposal chute is longer. Aysu and Valesia both find themselves scrapping against sharp, shattered objects, such as broken glass or the edges of metal, cutting into their skin and leaving them somewhat bloodied (Valesia and Aysu lose 2 vitality each). Eventually the group reaches the bottom of the clogged chute: a series of large metal pipes stuck against the walls at the perfect angle to cause the back up of waste. Looking around in the darkness, the group can hear the occasional clatter or clang of objects deeper down the chute, while to their left, just in reach, they notice a run off chute, the grate pried open. It's large enough for a person to step through. Peering at them from the darkness are two glowing eyes. "Squeak?" The heroes feel a familiar tingling sensation in their minds as the visions of scampering rat feet and warmth fills their minds, as the rat scurries along down the run off shoot, looking back at the heroes. Will they follow, or did they have any other plans in mind?
  10. Zaria raised an eyebrow at the rest of her groups questionable decisions to raise the hostilities with the individuals in front of her. She would prefer not to spill blood on the train, but if she had to, she would. She thought back to the attendant and what might've happened had he stepped in here to deal with Maba and Abam. "Enough! The lot of you!" Zaria snapped. She was sick and tired of the roundabout nature of the conversation. "We can continue making vague threats towards each other or we can come to an understanding." She directs her attention towards the stowaways. "I suspect the two of you are back here because affording a ticket is out of your reach. If that was simply the case, I would probably protest my associates getting into a scuffle with you, and be fine looking for a better place for you to stow away. However, you have done nothing but obstruct the truth from us. I will not tolerate thieves aboard this train. Either you come forward with why you're back here, or I pull the emergency alarm, and we can all explain why we're back here to the train's staff. Your call." Zaria wasn't even sure if there was an emergency alarm, but she hoped her bluff would work.
  11. MM Note: I'll have an update a little later today. Apologies for the lack of an update yesterday.

  13. The mission doesn't start until at least August 3rd, so you have plenty of time to prepare.
  14. Zaria furrowed her brow and looked at Yelana. "You and I both know what I meant, Yelana." As she turned her attention back to the luggage bin, she continued to rummage momentarily before being startled by the person pushing her back as they emerge from the pile. Instinctively reaching for the handle of her khopesh, she relaxed her stance when the figured ceased to engage with her. Still on edge, she looked to Soren and Yelana, then back to the stranger as her companions began asking questions.
  15. Zaria ignored Yelana, placing the suitcase back on the shelf and began searching the large bin full of luggage, carefully placing any luggage taken out onto the ground. "Watch your language, Yelana. I would hope you do not kiss your mother with that mouth."
  16. Zaria grabs the grey thing on the lower left rack and inspects it. "If this option bears no fruit..." She nods in the direction of the bin full of luggage.
  17. Ah yes, the "Scott posted a new teaser for Five Nights at Freddy's" strategy.
  18. "Do you mind if I ask you what your thought process is behind the pack in the top middle shelf?" Zaria asked. "I would prefer not to rummage through others luggage without permission of the attendant, personally. Seeing as how we cannot see anyone in this room, it leaves three options: they are hiding, they are invisible, or we are the only three people in here." Zaria waited for Yelana to grab the grey device on the lower shelf on the left, looking at it intently.
  19. Zaria nods assuredly. "Very well then." She keeps an ear out to see if she can hear the voices and noises described by the attendant.
  20. <"For a number of years my kindred and I survived in the walls and garbage of this station. I can remember when they came with vests and hard hats to clean this place up, and ruin our home. It was quiet for some time, and sustenance was scarce, and then finally food became easy to find in these halls. We would need someplace new, someplace safe, where my kindred and I can live without fear of being exterminated by exterminators. I understand you've already slain some of my kindred. A misfortune, really. They will be missed in the pack. If you so wish to continue our discussions, you will need to descend downwards, to the end of the chute. I wish to see your faces. The area is quiet, and secluded, and safe, away from the jaws of the machinery beyond. If it's a parley you wish to partake in, you will receive it."> Looking down, Valesia picks up something curious: a name tag. The name on the tag is Hugo. It's old, and worn with age, it's lustre fading. <"Perhaps, but this warren has existed for some time, and while they cannot express the exact emotions, my kindred seem ready to protect what they believe is their own with their lives, as any creature would."> <"My kindred have always found solace in tight spaces, like warren tunnels, along with the ease of pilfering delectables they cannot otherwise find in the wilderness. You cannot blame them for wanting a life of ease, away from hardship, like most creatures.">
  21. Zaria kept her hand on the wall of the car to ensure she didn't get lost in the dark. "I cannot say that I did pack a match, or a flashlight. Do you want me to come with you, Soren? If you get jumped, I would rather you have my sword at your side than your pistol if someone gets up close and personal."
  22. MM Note: Just so it's clear, everyone can hear the telepathic voice.
  23. "Sure thing." Mr Grumble passes off the bomb to Aysu, looking a little relieved to have the device off of him. "I'm going to stay here, where it's reasonably safe. If you need anything, feel free to howler." Valesia Athletics Proficiency Check (DC 1): 3 Successes (4,5,6) Aysu Athletics Proficiency Check (DC 1): 2 Successes (2,5,6) Valesia Spell Check (Revealing Light): 1 Success (3,4). Revealing Light successfully invoked! Valesia leads the way into the garbage heap, with Aysu short behind her. The light helps somewhat in avoiding anything potentially dangerous in the heap, but climbing up the chute is still physically taxing. Reaching the top, the party reunites with Enson, and with light now flooding the chute, the party can see their surroundings. Standing on the top layer of garbage, the heroes can see the grimy walls are seemingly numbered at certain intervals. Six feet up, the party can see what is seemingly the garbage chute entry for the 4th floor of the hall. Around them is old, stained pillows, likely from the old hotel room furnishings. The feeling of aggression and tension grows as the group looks around. Something shiny glints in the darkness. Enson's voice echoed down the chute as he waited in the darkness as his friends appeared, the shared feeling of aggression turning into a feeling of danger, almost of curiosity. Then, together, the party feels the emotion swell in their minds, as the emotions twists into a tangible, understandable language. "<You are a curious one. We anticipated violence, your descent down into the heap. Instead you crawl upwards, ascending our growing kingdom. We cannot pierce into your minds and read your thoughts, only project our thoughts onto others outside the network I am a part of. Who are you?>" Something down the chute heard his request.
  24. Zaria stands up and motions to the attendant. "If you could lead us to the car in question, we would be honoured to handle this situation for you."
  25. Mr. Grumble takes the explosive and looks it over, chuckling. "So, by the look things, this box is the safety application device, and this cylinder is obviously this metal sphere is the bomb, and... ah, there it is. The Haast Company logo. Should've just stuck to making space ships, if you ask me." Insight Proficiency Check (DC 2): 0 Successes (1,2,2,2) Ouch. Athletics Proficiency Check (DC 1): 2 Successes (2, 6, 6) Climbing through the garbage, Enson tries to pinpoint where the sense of unease is coming from, but cannot quite figure out where. It feels as if he's being barraged from all angles, even though as he climbs up he encounters no cranium rats. As he ascends, the garbage becomes looser and less compact, making it easier to climb, although the sense of unease turns into a sense of aggression. His head becomes agitated with the images of hissing mouths and looming eyes. Making it to the top of the garbage pile, Enson is now alone in the darkness of the chute. It's hard to tell how high up he climbed or where in terms of the hall's layout he is, but that feeling of anger still looms around him.
