I loved that game as well and you did a truly terrific job in recreating this absolute classic. Indeed the most iconic ship in the game and I LOVE this MOC especially bc you took the time to show very detailed how you came to the design with the gamesource material. Really wonderful to see this one in bricks.

Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion, ERA II
Fraunces replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I was enthusiastic in the beginning to be a Sea Rat but as time progressed the need for the faction decreased as many NPC Pirates were the real pirates and we are just a faction of everything else. So it would be logical to change our faction to the pirate faction with some new rules and scrapping the old rules. Traders can just join another faction bc who cares if you're a blue-red-or greencoat if you are just trading and doing harmless adventures? The Pirate Faction would be the place to go if you're a Blag flagger but you wouldn't directly have big trouble with the three main factions if you are harmless I guess. The factions could keep a wanted list like the real Nations had. It could but would not really add anything to make the now unofficial roles per faction official I guess. Also @Keymonus & @Kwatchi's active-player-amount-argument is a valid point. I agree but a Pirate Faction is still very very needed in a game like this one I'd say. Consolidation is needed but with our current playerbase I'd say it should be in MAP-size and NPC nations. I'd love for Mardier to come back as the mayor power again and teaming up with or claiming all the small nations back in it's line. We'd have: the big NPC federation Mardier controlling again a lot of islands, and could be used for most storylines (Spanish-empire influence) and the three playable nations: ESL (Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch influence combined), COR (Brits) Oleon (French) and the Pirates (Sea Rats + NPC Pirates which are just solo pirates, basically the same as now). The new leadership would control the NPC's actions. -
Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion, ERA II
Fraunces replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
We could also just become the Pirate Faction. In real times the Pirates/buccaneers were basically Sea Rats as clever and respected captains would be hired and respected in Dutch/English/French port especially in the early age of sale. -
Some amazing techniques here and there , she looks beautiful. I noticed the sails , they are nicely done with eye for details. Great job.

[OL-FB] Terraversan Commonwealth Rum-Runners
Fraunces replied to Keymonus's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Hmmm I am not sure a small new colony would be able to expand so quickly to other islands so short after war, but why not: if there is rum to sell, smuggle and drink who am I to disagree Nice interior an minifig building once again.- 8 replies

Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion, ERA II
Fraunces replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nod Just joking Era3 should be a new beginning so why not alter the factions also a little bit -
Glad? You can be most proud of your work. This genre of vignettes and storytelling is always a very nice read and I don't think the interperiods were too long. The builds are very good and charming alongside the stories you made. I have the feeling you could expand much more with your now established characters. But that's ofcourse up to you. I would love to see more

Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List (Vol. 8, Issue 4)
Fraunces replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Native: A new editorial team of the KPA! They hanged Montroy! Vulcano's and freak storms! Pirates everywhere! What should we do Chief! Is this the wrath of our Gods? Chief: New times are ahead! We must prepare! Not Montroy! He was such a welcome guest in our ports... EXCITING! I did lose my ship the Dragonfly... Such a shame, I believe my two best carpenters were on that one... @Capt Wolf such an incredible persistent job you have done by keeping the Brick Seas alive, I think it is fair to say as other have that your KPA was the center, summary and starting point of each 'round', fueling new stories and giving inspiration and ideas to all players. Tonight we will have a grand toast and cannon-salute on the ships honoring your work. -
[OL-FB] Citizen! Duty Calls!
Fraunces replied to Jeff of Clubs's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Lol, this kind of bureaucracy is why I joined the pirate faction -
Amazing build, your power of imagination is great, good job. The colours could be more vibrant maybe but that would be my biggest point . The interior scenes and minifigs are also very nice. The sails are nice and make it look piratey but could also be skipped, to make it look more like a Zeppelin. But I appreciate the age-of-sails-connection you are most welcome in the pirate forum mate!

Wow, amazing work. A piece of art. Seen the real model in Lelystad and this is an extremely nice representation
