See the little pic Asuka posted? That's how I sometimes like to "pose" my cars with their drivers in my town. With a "Space tile" I could only position the minifig driver as if he jumps over the "door" (Miami Vice-style). That's hard to do, though, cos they haven't produced the gravity-free minifig yet... I like (Classic) Space but I buy City sets primarily for - who'd have thunk it - my city! ;-)

But do those "cooler-thingies" on top of the engines turn, too? I think that's what yoda meant cos they turn in the model...

Last he told me all his vacation days are "used up" already...

The problem's not the US, "European" sets eventually show up there. phoinix's "problem" is that he lives in Cyprus/Greece where S@H isn't available;-)

Ah, very nice, thanks again for another review. Must have been a busy night ;-) I have the truck, too. The only thing I don't like is that the wheels are too wide IMHO. The chassis looks great but from the front (or back) it looks kinda awkward with the wheels sticking out to the sides like mutilated legs. Other than that it's a great set, better than the fire chief's truck in the old fire station which I almost considered buying just for the small truck. Glad I didn't ;-)

:-D Well, I would have waited, but thank you for the review ;-) The model really is nothing spectacular. I don't like the superstructure at all. Too bland for a big model like that. A smaller model or more superstructure would have been better. I also agree about your "crap points", I can imagine how those wheels underneath "work" cos I built something like that once and I didn't like at all how that thing moved (whatever it was that I built, I can't remember cos I was 8)... Yeah, looks like I'll save my money and spend it on the boat (since I have the police boat already). Thanks again *y*

That sure is an interesting and daring introduction. Well, I hope you live up to your (correctly spelled) word. Welcome and enjoy EB :-)

Sometimes I think these high BL prices are just used by people who want to show off their collection...

Jesus, that must be a new record for that set... I know it's sought after but this is *wacko* And look at what he sells: More vintage stuff. If these go like the shuttle he'll make a fortune... Fitting this crazyness, I found this yesterday - not even MISB *wacko*

Cool, thanks! I don't have any specific set in mind, just something that shows its (IMHO horrendously big) size ;-)
-
True, I thought it's a cute little feature for that set. Oh, how could I say no, a pic would be nice, maybe next to another city set to compare the size, if I may be so bold to ask ;-)

The Hobbes family will attend, 2 people :'-)

Like with the UCS Batmobile? Doesn't sound all too promising, thanks for the little insight, yoda. After this I think I'll pass on it, too ;-)

Looks cool, maybe a few FX would be nice, like laser blasts and explosions ;-)

A little friendlier, please. I guess people don't have anything to post about it. Until I checked on LUGNET I didn't even know what LEGO Island is. From that you can guess that I don't have it (then again, I'm not a computer game fan). And I don't know how popular it is. But why don't you start with a MOC of your own?
-
Not really. When they're sold out I'll sell them and finance some new sets for me ;-) Where did you buy that, ebay? I'd like to have the truck from the new firestation (the one with the extending boom) but don't want to buy the entire firestation since I already have two firestations...

I just stumbled upon this very nice MOC of a Santa Fe FP45 locomotive (pic = link): What I like is that it's 6wide, doesn't use all too much tricky SNOT-or-other-technique, and yet is recognizable. It's almost a model LEGO could have done. There's also some GP-like-model in the gallery (I'm not firm with the numbers or models, maybe it's even an SD-xx), also in 6wide and also pretty "straight-forward". Models like these give me hope that I can come up with a similar MOC, cos I've been pondering ideas of the BNSF in SF colors but haven't built it yet (and it's not even a real MOC but merely an official LEGO-model in different colors). Very nice models *y*

Oh, you're one of those people who actually know how to handle those CAD programs. You have my highest respect. I'd like to be able to "pre-build" my ideas, too, but I'm absolutely inapt with that stuff. So, for me it's try and error ;-) Welcome to EB, looking forward to seeing more of your stuff :-)

Another Town fan it seems. You're most welcome here :-)
