If the Orthanc set is true, I am very excited for it. I think just grima, saruman, and uruks are good as far as characters. I agree that treebeard would be unnecessary, I'd rather have a taller tower and then treebeard in his own set.

Changed the roofs a bit (more like deskp's) and thinned out the pillars. The lanterns might be a little bit difficult to see, They are a clear blue and are on the pillars going up, and there are a few hanging from the leaves near the main building. Also added a couple branches on the big tree.

I love how well the castle is integrated into the mountain! Also, I really like the detailing on the white house.

I plan on bricklinking the pieces, and then building it. (Although some of the colors for the leaves don't exist, so I'll have to paint them or something.

Update: I made it a bit smaller with only 2 trees. Base is pretty much the same (only I got rid of some stuff). The trees I completely rebuilt, and stairs will be much more stable i think. Still don't have lanterns, I'm not exactly sure where to put them. Right now it's at 1191 bricks. Thoughts?

Me too. I missed some of the good deals on Amazon, but I think they'll come around again. I check prices online at amazon/target/walmart/ebay regularly to make sure I'm not missing any deals that I can't pass up.

Now that I see them again, I agree. I think that the brick yellow (tan on BL) color works best for the trees. If they were white, there would be no distinction between the tree and the building, and if the were LBG, I think they would look too much like rocks (at least at the roots.) I will post an updated color scheme once I have it done.

i had a similar idea for the architecture for rivendell/lothlorien with those arch pieces. Right now, I have a pretty decent Lothlorien in LDD. I'll have see if the trees are sturdy enough when I actually try building it. I would love to see another great rivendell. I'm too intimidated by it to attempt one myself.

My wallet will definitely be happier with only four sets this wave, as I don't have the Mines of Moria yet. I'm least interested in the Corsair Ship, I wish TLG had made the black gate the $100+ set, and made the ship smaller, because the black gate looks tiny.

Just got Bag End and Gandalf Arrives. Also a 2nd Helm's Deep without minifigs. I really want the Attack of the Wargs, and maybe a 2nd or 3rd Uruk-hai Army set, to start building a small army.
