What made you get out of your LEGO dark age?
Dennimator replied to BearHeart's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So I guess you got 'help from above' then... -
Well, it´s not just the US. It´s common to call it 'School Homework' in Sweden as well. It´s not the right tirm, term, but it´s still common.

Looking good. I can see that it´s inspired by 8402 as well. I see you have a thing for building car MOCs. Have you ever tried building a 5-wide one? They look incredibly realistic, are really fun to build etc, etc. The only downside is that it reequires alot of small plates, jumper plates and cheese slopes. If you want to try it out, you could always check out either my BrickShelf folder, or if you want to check out the 5-wide car master builder, check out Ralph_S´creations (his FlickR name is MadPsyhicist).

No, that´s what made EB to what it is like today. (Just couldn´t resist, again, the Force is strong with this one) Still, the site seems to overload sometimes... Not often though, but sometimes my screen just says "there´s an error with the server" and I can´t go on EB. This usually only lasts for a short amount of time, though. Yes, I feel the same. Especially my favourite forum, Town (previously Trains and Town), isn´t what it used to be... I can´t really put my finger on it, but what you described fits pretty well, the attitude has changed. [DISCLAIMER]Still, EB is by far the best LEGO-related forum on the net.[/DISCLAIMER]

Oh *megabloks* yea! Easily 10+. Or more like, I have EB open 24/7. Whenever I get time, I just update the site and check the interesting new topics... However, I couldn´t resist but voting "Big Cam, seriously log off"... To my defense, the Force was strong with this one.

FOR SALE: Lego Star Wars Minifigures + more
Dennimator replied to BlueDragonZ's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Okay, I´ll take the items, along with the Slave Leia. That would be $26(Jabba)+$10(8036)+$5(Leia Slave)+$11(shipping)= $52, right? Please send me a PM with details about where to send the money. Thanks. -
That price is actually pretty reasonable, considering all the work, BL orders etc. he must´ve put on it.Those parts can´t be very cheap, also there comes shipping, probably from multiple sellers... I don´t think more than around 40-50% of that is pure win, and then he has put down a lot of time building it, making the instructions, etc. The fact that he sells a ROM of the instructions for $25 is outrageous though. For that price the least you expect is to get proper, printed instructions. A more reasonable price for a ROM would be around $10.

Now who has alot of lrgo? I love your layout, it looks really great... and HUGE. How did you get all those trans blue pieces for the skyscraper? It must´ve cost a fortune! Also, that ice-cream shop... It just looks so... ice-creamy!

Well, they don´t really cook it, but yes, they heat it up. Also, battery acid doesn´t harm bricks.. if they´re not white. Once, in a galaxy far, far away ( ), when I was a little child, I had a battery in one of my LEGO boxes. Needless to say it leaked, and many of the bricks got the sticky liquid on them. Most bricks was easy to clean, but the white bricks (which, luckily, was not many in that particular box) got extremely badly yellowed. I threw most of them out, but I might have one or two of them left. if I find them, I can take a pic.

When I was in a local toy store, the manager (which I know pretty well, since I´ve been buying nearly all my lego sets from that store for about 4-5 years) asked me to come to the storage room. She said that she had recently found a very old set that had fallen behind the shelves there a long time ago, and knowing my obsession hobby , she thought that I might be interested. It was the old 2887 Oil Pump with pumper set. I had no need for the set, but still I just couldn´t resist that vintage goodness, so I bought it, and someone here might give the set a good home. I´m selling the set for the same price for which I bought it, 4 € . (Pic taken from Peeron.) I can take pics of the box upon request. Oh, and about that countdown...

About 4000 pieces from BL for a project I´m working on...
-
Great job! That tree villain was funny! Why not switch your screen name to "Captain Orange Hair"?
-
Ah.. I´m sorry. I had a feeling knew that I was late (didn´t see the topic until now) so I didn´t read your post carefully.

Ooh, one for me too, please?

What is the funniest things you have heard said about Lego?
Dennimator replied to Sisco's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Not too surprising, considering the PPPR (Price Per Piece Rate) of some of the new sets.. -
I will definately come to the EB Event!
Dennimator replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
For the next event, we can spit our sigfigs instead. That´s LEGO-related enough for you? Well, at least noone sucks as much as you... You sure? -
That´s what I meant, how much do you want for them? Also, do you have a pic?
-
Wait.. so it´s basically a (cheap?) way to get the bricks needed for a MOC which are going to exhibitions? If so, how do we order? Can we do it through Eurobricks? How do we know the prices, and how do we get the pieces (mail says that they are delivered to 1 member)? I´m confused...

Here are the pics I promised. Sorry for the bad quality on the pics, my camera and I aren´t friends... Well, technically it´s not 5-wide, but 4-wide. The arches doesn´t count, only the brick length. I wouldn´t recommend those wheels or arches for 5-wide cars, as they are oversized and (IMO) by far not looking as good as the smaller wheels. Your model is great for being a 4-wide car though.
-
Polybags? Me! What do you want for them?
-
Welcome to the fantastic world of 5-wide cars! The wheelholders Rick mentioned is great when building 5-wide cars, especially the first one. You connect it with jumper plates. You will be using alot of these when building 5- and 7-wide cars and trucks, along with 1 x 1, 1 x 2, 1 x 3 and 1 x 4 plates, so be sure to stock up on those. I´ll build a quick car base that´s easy to build and great to start with, and post the pics here as soon as possible. Sure, Ralph is the 5- and 7- wide vehicle builder, but... Haven´t you forgotten someone?

LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars Animated Comics
Dennimator replied to ILikePi's topic in LEGO Star Wars
These are incredible! I´ve seen that first one before though, so they aren´t new. At least not the first one. "What about that Death Brick? Ah, it can´t be that important." *screen turns to the Death Star* -
Gently? When I spot a spider,I do one of the following: 1) Charging towards it with a big hammer (my sis is calling it Masher because... well, not hard to guess ) while screaming like crazy or 2)Run as fast as I can to a room in the complete opposite side of the house and begging asking my mom to kill it. So... the fly's stole your bike and chased you on it?

Want 2x 8092 Luke's Landspeeder
Dennimator replied to Dennimator's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Oh yes sir! If you could buy me 2 of them when you find them, it would be great. Also, what do you want for that hairpiece? Oh, and did you make up your mind about that Lando (Skiff) trade?
