  1. Ya know common sense and Bricklink should enable you to build the mini's without any help from Lego ..and half a dozen bricks loosely resembling an existing Lego set seems barely worth the effort....
  2. 2008: best year for Lego ever Amazing Mars Mission sets ...but thse Star Wars sets....wow! Not a bad set acropss the board and we've waited for a good AT-TE and Gunship for 6 years! They have released more good SW sets this year than in the last few years combined - all the new Clone Wars sets are fantastic I voted for the Death Star ...lets face it, its BETTER than we could ever have hoped. The little details (place for Vader to hurl the Emperor, working trash compactor, death star laser firing room, large conference room, about a zillion mini figs) - awesome
  3. Fighter tank is a stunning set - finally as Brits get a set first A bit of compensation for the fact we pay twice as much
  4. The Hoth base is the most over priced uninspired Star Wars sets to date I am baffled why people on this board show so much interest in it ...another snowspeeder? How many do you need? A tiny door? Cant you just MOC your own? Besides...its still available in TRU in the UK so its hardly that rare
  5. Weird - Lego said they didnt make parts in China....but it clearly states the contrary on the box I hope they aint loading this thing up with lead paint
  6. Just bought every set, oh yes, - but cant find the fighter tank? Which shop has it???
  7. are you medicated? You've seen pictures of the set for MONTHS, you've seen the isntructions for months and you've even heard from people with the set - 2 clones, just 2 clones
  8. Cant stand these daft little sets - what the hell are you supposed to do with them anyway?
  9. Its odd...because they have DIFFERENT numbers, that means they used many different molds (at presumably great expense) I wonder why....?
  10. Here is a picture I found on brickshelf, you can see the number on the leg piece, evidently its fairly common with the Halifire droid set
  11. Please, please , please can we have ACCURATE TIE models Enough with the dark blue (Tie fighters were grey!) The TIE bomber was such an ugly set, looked nothing like the real thing - and the one TIE that was all blue, they included loads of grey! I swear Lego is just trying to be perverse
  12. So I bought the new Halifire droid set, I noticed that one of the tan battle droids has a serial number across the waist - I have 130 Battledroids and none of them has a serial number printed on them, is that a production glitch? Anyone else ended up with one? Sorry no pics - cant zoom in enough....
  13. So, are the 08 sets out the 25th..or 26th? I don't want to be ordering online to find they are in the shops ..this would be the first time i can remember that new sets were in shops the same time as the lego website...
  14. I increasingly find myself thinking similiar expensive thoughts I'm already fairly certain to get two AT-TE's.....two gunships might be excesive even by my standards I already have 2 gunships.....and an AT-TE, I had to buy another 50 battle droids just to keep the CIS in with a chance!
  15. Why would Lego do another droid battle pack, when you can still buy the first one? I really want a new AAT, the first one is good (i have three) but its colours and wrong - i can only imagine how good a new one would be...
  16. The new MTT is a masterpiece The old MTT looks like anyone did it The new one...well, that is what a proffesional builder produces Its the kind of set that most of us, with all the bricks and time in the world - would never have been able to rival Of course the origianl AT-AT, it came at a time when Lego still wasn't where it needed to be on quality builds - but the AT-AT showed what was to come, a stunning stunning set I must say without fail, all sets since 2005 have been of fantastic quality - acruate, well designed and with great features 2005 was really the turning point - up to them we had some dodgy designs, thats why I am delighted by all these revised sets - a chance for them to be done right (thank god we are getting a new AT-TE!)
  17. The entire first wave of Star Wars was a disgrace - amaeturish junk, the kind of stuff you find on brickshelf - not what you'd expect from a professional builder The worst of all - the original MTT, it looks exactly like a small child built it. Maybe Lego designed them in a rush - but never before, or after, has Lego looked so crap
  18. Mars Mission is causing me a problem - its really making me doubt Star Wars as my fav theme MM is so awesome I really hope there is an '09 range We need a human base for sure and an alien base I really want them to put as much thought into the aliens that they do the humans - the '08 aliens were so much better....but still pretty crap I'd like to see another style of alien - maybe the jellies are worker drones and we could get some warriors ...and give me a tank!
  19. It arrived today - stunning set, has a fantastic and unique look The best MM set? There are so many good ones - what an awesome theme it has been, the sets this year have managed to top the awesome ones from last year which was never going to be easy
  20. Listing the droids as mini figs is a bit of a con - c'mon the mouse droid? Fair enough if its a battle droid but a couple of tile bricks stuck together
  21. What a surprise - Lego is trying to screw Europeans over again! Thank god I already ordered - parity with US prices, I knew that had to be a mistake ...do you think Lego will honour the price of those that already ordered? How dare Lego rip people off like this - if they can make a profit on $399 in the US, why do they charge $540 in the UK????? Why is there such an incredible difference in price?
  22. At first I wasnt too intrested in the fighter tank - hell, its so briefly seen its almost an expanded universe vehicle + I was miffed it didnt have Ki-Adi Mundi Looking at the instructions though I realise this may be one of the best sets this year - I just love the gunner's auto raising seat and the control room, really well thought out - I love the little details. It even has an accesible engine :) I'll have to get two of these
  23. Indeed, they will pay 50% less at least Its
  24. I am very lucky that (currently) i can buy sets I like, even the Death Star ...but 80 quid for some sets? Aside from collectors, who could afford that? That's a hell of a lot for a birthday present for most families I would never ask Lego to reduce quality - but even the most basic sets have a price tag that shocks me, Lego is an incredibly expensive Hobby 2 computer games or one set? I think we all know how most people will vote I just cant believe Lego can cost as much as it does to produce
  25. I'll be buying every Star Wars set this year (except Anakins yellow fighter) - they are all so excellent I will probably get a couple AT-TE's and maybe an extra gunship - I can then trade in my '02 AT-TE and RGS
