  1. Once I saw the knights kingdom sets (Cedric the bull and stuff) where each set came with a shiny component, for only 50p a set! However, back then, I didn't see the wisdom in buying multiples...
  2. I tend to get mine off ebay... I've yet to see any at market stalls in Britain
  3. I think I may have had an account here a long while ago, but I never actually posted on it. Then I slipped into my dark age, and when re-emerging, I had forgotten the password and account name, and so began this poster. Hope that clears anything up, if there were any issues. Tom
  4. Personally, I want anything to do with castle. More specifically, the dragon master knights, an army which I am currently building. Large quantities of light gray bricks for castle building, and green plates for landscaping wouldn't go amiss either Tom
  5. Once whilst waiting for a train - I just couldn't wait to get home. When I was younger, trying to assemble a model on a ride at legoland - the junior dragon rollercoaster at windsor I think. Other than that, I don't think i've built anywhere weirder than my bedroom or conservatory.
  6. Personally, I'd start sorting by colour. Then, divide it into plates, brick and so on. It also helps to make sure smaller components aren't stuck in the underside of large bits; for example a 1x2 brick stuck in the hollow area of a baseplate (my terminology is bad, perhaps someone can better explain this). Anyway, have fun. Its tiresome, yet rewarding, and by going through large boxes, you get to discover small pieces you thought were lost, as I did when I did a recent sort. Good luck! Tom
  7. At most, I'd say £800, but its probably just under that. I have hopes of expanding though, but unfortunately, I get paid monthly, and not lots - the perils of still being in school
  8. I used the design of some of your forestmen for my own :P But unfortunately, I do not have some of the correct components. However, yours look very nice :) Tom
  9. I have 5 crown knights, plus the green dragon. 10 orcs and 2 big trolls. 1 dwarf :( 0 skellies from the more recent sets. I do however have the red dragon, which I obtained through a trade. 12 dragon master knights. 5 lion knights, but I recently won a bid on a set containing 7 of them on ebay; I am just awaiting postage. 1 wolfpack member 1 black falcon 2 scorpion knights 4 bull knights 2 fright knights, and one witch and then a variety of random knights which are unaligned.
  10. I love this. I bookmarked the page, and hope to use some of your technique in my own creations, as I too am currently working on a gatehouse. However, I will not outright copy it, and if I get around to posting pictures, I'll make sure to give credit where its due. Brilliant model, hope to see more from you in the future. Tom :)
  11. After being a lurker for a while, I decided I had to sign up and post. Well, my name is Tom, and as implied, I am a lego castle fan. I recently came out of my dark age, having purchased the troll warship. Prior to that, I don't think I had bought any lego since about 2002, though I did occasionally play with what I did have. I like to build landscapes and castles, usually modular in accordance with the CCC standard or the Base8 Standard. However, I face the same problems as many - I never have enough bricks! I am considering writing a story based on the adventures of my characters and my Legoverse, in the same vein as Ikros, though I doubt I will be able to live up to such a standard. I am 16 years old, and although my mother thinks I am too old to play with toys, she is happy that I have something to occupy myself with, rather than practically living on the computer, as I did with my previous hobby, which was playing world of warcraft. I have a job to supplement my lego habit, and recently spent £100 on ebay, to purchase a fair few items. I have also managed to ensnare my younger brother, so we build together - he is too a castle fan. I look forward to meeting you all on these forums, and hope that I won't be judged by my age, as is the case on some forums. Thanks, Tom
