Why are people looking forward to LU?
Tom_castlefan replied to Zuloon's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Quoted for truth. Also, it's easier to socialise, and with the prospect of a Eurobricks guild, we can further involve ourselves in the hobby, whilst retaining a sense of community. Tom -
It looks like an interesting concept - i'm concerned about how they will deal with mixing an assortment of themes. The darklings look cool too - I hope we see them in minifig version. Tom
-
This. Other than that, I would be very interested in joining, if the game turns out to be worthwhile. Having recently quit WoW, I need a new MMO to occupy myself with, and playing one with such a great community sounds like a great idea! Tom
-
I wonder if they'll put something like this in a collectors edition version of the game... Tom
-
Haha very nice technique. Interesting how us lego builders come up with such ideas. Tom
-
A very nice space update to the CCC standard walls. I love the detailing. Tom
-
This is creepy... Good creation, and story. Tom

Gah I hate children that are undisciplined and disrespectful - my parents always taught me how to behave. Hopefully you find the patience to rebuild it; experience tells me it was likely turn out looking better than before. But frosting? That disgusting... worse thing I ever got on my lego was a half glass of coke, and at least that came off easily enough. Go and falcon-punch the children, and the parents too... Hopefully you'll rebuild it though Tom

MOC: Agents Seabase of Dr. Inferno
Tom_castlefan replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I love the little story here, as well as the actual creation. Good stuff! Tom -
This is pretty cool. I look forward to the gallery, when public. Tom

It's quite cool to see how lego has progressed. I for one have trouble telling between older and new colours, but your pictures help. Thanks Tom
-
I'm not sure the epaulettes and the cowboy hats look good together, but otherwise its a nice creation. I like it though Tom Edit: What's the correct spelling of "epaulettes"? Firefox is telling me it's wrong...

Very nice - I love the slanted obelisk. Keep it up, I love seeing your work, such as the isle de muerta vig. Tom
-
I really like this - great attention to detail. I love the custom Jack Sparrow, and also the use of Spongebob-Gary's shell as toadstool heads. Tom

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
Tom_castlefan replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Some of these SW armies are more impressive (and imposing) than the vast castle armies I have seen, and that's saying something! Tom -
Definitely not bad for your first SNOT attempt, and a wonderful eye for detail. I love the prints left by the droid and soldier. Tom
-
I like the new torso prints.. covering up the flesh colours with use of neck pieces, such as a beard or a bandana, and I'll have some cool looking castle minifigures.
-
I really love the death start set, but my love for the castle theme prevents me from spending my money on it... Perhaps i'll one day pick it up on ebay, when it is no longer in production and its price has been cranked up to around £1000? Tom

These are brilliant. If I ever make elementals, this could serve as my inspiration Just add a water elemental, and then it becomes even better. My favourite figure is the wind one - excellent use of the spiderman hobgoblin. Tom
-
Have to agree here. I also have to wonder if the carriage was any bigger, would it requrie more horses to pull it? Otherwise its a very nice creation Keep up the good work Tom
-
Haha looks like it was a brilliant day. I love the fabuland war sets, but it pretty much all looked amazing - an awesome tribute to the creativity of AFOL's! Tom

Lego - given up on the UK?
Tom_castlefan replied to TheBrickHitHouse's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It is sad that the amount of stores stacking a variety of lego products is slowly declining. Indeed, the best place to buy these days is online, and this lacks a certain degree of "impulse-buying" - how often have you gone into a shop, and come out with a lego product that you weren't planning to buy? Shopping online lacks this degree of fun, the element of surprise, and it is extremely disappointing that lego is not as popular as it once was. Tom -
What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Tom_castlefan replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
These are the two ideas within this thread I would most like to see. Being an avid castle fan, these would be the most useful to me. However, I wouldn't mind aztec or pirate themes... Tom -
I'm sorry I missed your thread. Thanks for taking the time to respond anyway.

Haha, that's really very cool. A great diorama, and it made me chuckle, so that's bonus points. Tom
