  1. Same here. All the other stores (TRU, Woolies, etc) just stock bigger sets - £7.99 upwards. French hypermarkets all seem to stock a good range of impulse sets. Cheers Rog
  2. Another awesome build (does the side door open?). These are all so good and the scale and proportions so well done! Thanks once again for sharing - I assume that more pics will be on Brickshelf too? Reference pic for those outside the UK: Cheers Rog
  3. I get nothing? I've tried searching for a Eurobricks group before and nothing comes up; just tried now and nothing still comes up. Cheers Rog
  4. I think his point was that he doesn't actually have the part and wants to make sure it's right for the job before he spends his hard-earned on Bricklink. Cheers Rog
  5. Thanks for sharing these. This is right at the beginning of my favourite era of Lego and it's great to see these torsos again! I always liked the leather jacket although I never owned one - I can feel a Bricklink session coming on... One of my other favourites - and one I have several of - is the blue suit and tie torso which I think also came out in 1979 (379 Bus Station). It would be interesting to see that torso in other colours. Cheers Rog

  7. I notice that the set doesn't come with a minifig lawyer for use against McClaren... Seriously, it's nice to see reviews of these sets that include pictures of the pieces and the model during the contruction (or deconstruction!). The cost of these sets combined with their scale (I won't buy anything not minifig scale) means I will never buy one so it is nice to see some of the techniques and pieces used in the awesome looking sets! Thanks for the review Cheers Rog
  8. I have 6382 and agree that it is a great set. It doesn't have a chopper like this set and the fire engine is not as flash. It does have a downstairs in the building though (at least a door and a front wall anyway!). It's nice to see a review of this set as it's one that I often looked at in the catalogue and thought of getting but never did. It's great to see the details that I otherwise would not have seen. I don't like the firemen with hair though! They should have helmets or caps IMHO! Thanks for the review! Cheers Rog
  9. That's what I thought too. Girls Aloud by the way... Cheers Rog
  10. Police Cruiser Instructions That is next on the agenda. Watch this space! Cheers Rog
  11. It's all about the hi-vis! Truly great models! Cheers Rog
  12. Not at the mo. Just put it together this morning. I'll try and knock some up if I get some time! It's not too hard though. 95% of the pieces came from 7737 and 7236 with a couple of odd pieces from 7902. Just look at it as an alternative set from the back of the box and have a go. Cheers Rog
  13. V-LP-2B Inspired by my Coast Guard 4WD I have come up with a poilce version. Based on the same chassis, the police version features a station wagon rear end instead of a pickup plus blue 'n' twos and a nifty set of bars on the front it's ideal for those situations where a regular police car would simply get stuck. It's agressive looks would also come in useful for public disorder duties too as no pedestrian's going to mess with it! Cheers Rog
  14. Like I said, it felt pretty robust to me. It's not their own brand so I suspect a cheap job lot from somewhere due to liquidation or a cancelled order or something. Was cheap but didn't feel cheap. Cheers Rog
  15. Just looks like a renactment of either a real life "Police Camera Action" type scene or something else from TV. Not a terribly fun subject but nothing that would offend me nor lead me to think that the creator has any issues. Maybe you could argue that Lego is an inappropriate media for such a scene but no more so than the muppets being used to recreate scenes from Pulp Fiction... There's nothing there that I would have said needs reporting. Cheers Rog
  16. Just double-checked and most colours are available for 1x1 bricks and 1x1 plates, round and square direct through the Lego website. Not cheap but they are all there. Cheers Rog
  17. Oh! I have to agree that the jetski is an awesome little piece of design. Apart from the handle bars it has a really cool orange piece on the front (a piece I've never seen before) - the 4x3 wheelarch sort of thing... Cheers Rog
  18. This is a great model and I particularly like your photography. Great use of angles to get the real tress as your background. Nice touch! I love the authentic wonkyness of the model itself. All of the various bits and pieces on the roof have a real western wooden building feel to them. I like the mechanism details inside the building too and the nifty use of palm tree trunk pieces mixed with Technic. Very clever. Also really neat use of minifg brooms as legs/supports on the roof-mounted trough thingy. They look the part. I also like the design of the lamppost out front. I think I might have to nick this design for the gallows in a castle I'm putting together at the moment! I had to look really hard in order to find anything to criticise in a model of this quality but aren't the buffers on the track facing the wrong way...?? Anyway, amazing MOC and thanks for sharing! Cheers Rog
  19. Well, if you hadn't wasted a load making that yellow mug that's sitting just outside the castle walls maybe you wouldn't need to wait for Bricklink? Seriously, looks like quite a project and it's nice to see a castle MOC based on an original Lego design (especially as it's my favourite era of Lego Castle!). I look forward to forward to seeing the ancillary buildings in yellow too! Have you though what era/type of castle minifig you will use when you get to that stage? Cheers Rog
  20. Nice MOC. That is great. The seabird in particular I think is a work of genius! So simple and who would ever have thought of using those pieces like that! Great stuff. EDIT: Just noticed the minifig hair as coconuts in the trees. Fantastic! Cheers Rog

    Chez MOC

Playing about with LDD this afternoon I decided to try and recreate my own house. This is the result: And the real thing: Not a bad likeness and the roof and upper floor are removable in modular style. If only I could find a way to do the round window... And the exploded view: Cheers Rog
  22. I was in Poundland today and they had a mini camera tripod. The legs were only about 4 inches long and had a standard screw fitting to mount the camera. I had a play with it and it felt pretty sturdy. Ideal for taking shots of Lego sets. I had no cash with me (they don't take cards) but will definitely be going back there to get one! Seems like great value for £1. Cheers Rog
  23. Thanks for this review. I was thinking of getting this set and having read your review went out today and got it. What a great little set. What I particularly like: Very sturdy build. Feels very solid as you build the pickup (compared to the Fire pickup & trailer I also have) The orange pieces (my first pieces in this colour!) The tyres which give the smoothest ride of any Lego Town/City vehicle I've ever built The raised suspension and side runners The Coast Guard dude (again a first for me) and his mega-cool flippers and aqualung The jetski controls - The handlebars actually move left to right which is a great detail Little details that Lego didn't have to do (the grey handle by the ball joint; moving handlebars; the new tyres) As you can probably guess, I have voted Outstanding for this set! You do get a piece call out with this set (I did anyway). It's on the back of the small poster that is included in the set! Thanks again Cheers Rog
