  1. The definition of a paramedic is "...someone who assists physicians in providing medical care..." I think in more modern times a paramedic is generally thought of as a more qualified and experienced ambulance technician but the dictionary definition would seem to fit with the Lego model quite well. Lego In London?

Hamleys always has a great range of Lego - but don't expect a bargain as they only ever charge RRPs... There's also a Lego store in the Bluewater shopping centre. Cheers Rog
  3. I like this. It's a modern take on the cottage (6370) of the 1980s. Seems pricey though? I guess it's the number of pieces in the tiled pavement and the accessories.... Cheers Rog

    LDD MOC Coach

I only just uploaded it to Factory and it's not showing up in my models yet. I'll post a link as soon as it does! As for the seating capacity, it will take 24 minifigs plus the driver plus a courier so 26 in total. The death button only ended up there because I wanted a control panel down by the driver's side. Next project is to give the coach some colour instead of just white and then a double-deck version. Cheers Rog
  5. Great review! Love the old skool high vis vest! Cheers Rog

    LDD MOC Coach

It started off at 8 studs wide to match with the larger of the new style City trucks but the proportions looked odd and the interior was cramped (struggle to fit minifigs side by side). 10 studs wide fixes both of these issues. It is wide compared to roadplates but no worse than the aforementioned trucks! Cheers Rog
  7. Good News: Went to Woolworths today and they have the complete range of Agents sets in store. Bad News: They appear to have removed all other LEGO sets from the store. Cheers Rog
  8. The minifig also appeared in 6395 Grand Prix Racing Scene as a spectator Cheers Rog

    LDD MOC Coach

A LDD minifig scale design based on 15m Van Hool Acron coach First the side shots showing this to be UK spec with a door on each side of the vehicle and the large air con unit: Front 3/4 view with everything closed: Front 3/4 view with everything open: Close up of the front door mechanism: And a cutaway view of the luggage locker mechanisms: The driver's cockpit: The real thing: This is all done with buyable Factory pieces and comes to the princely sum of

    My LEGO Stats

    Playing with Excel and came up with these stats... Total Sets 82 Earliest Set 1977 Latest Set 2008 Average Year 1990 Town - 52% City - 15% Space - 10% Castle - 9% Pirates - 7% Technic - 4% Model Team - 2% Star Wars - 1% Minifigs - 163 Cheers Rog
  12. As most sets now come with stickers rather than printed bricks what are people's thoughts on actually using the stickers? With my most recent sets I have not put the stickers on the bricks because they do not last and become tatty too easy but obviously, the trade off is that the sets dod not look quite finished in some cases. What do other people do? Cheers Rog
  13. Historically, a model like this would have used two 1x2 bricks placed on top of each other. In this new set these bricks have been replaced by a single brick. The point of Lego = Construction toy More bricks = More construction fun Less bricks = Less construction fun Cheers Rog
  14. I defo agree about the fleshies - Minifigs should have yellow skin? Flesh coloured just seems wrong to me - It would be like Matt Groenig changing the colour of The Simpsons!! What I hate more then fleshies (which I have been able to avoid) is the substitution of small pieces for bigger ones - For example, I just bought the 7731 Mail Van and this came with 1x2x2 bricks in place of two 1x2 bricks. This is just cost cutting and unecessary simplifying! Cheers Rog

    Car Talk

I would love a Range Rover Sport: I guess the nearest realistically achievable model for now would have to be a Land Rover Freelander: And what do I actually have? So at least I'm heading in the right direction Cheers Rog
  16. Just don't get it mixed up with a can of WD40 - That could get messy Cheers Rog
  17. I'm Roger Riggs so rriggs is simply made from this. This has been my username for most things historically... Not original but it works for me! Cheers Rog
  18. Been busy at work so not done any updates for a few days but as I've got a couple of days off so here's the next one: This is 6506 Pursuit Car & 7236 Police Car (which I only just got!): Both relatively sporty cars for their time the advances(?) in Lego design are clear to see. Nose to nose shows the difference in size more clearly and highlights the difference in wheel size too. From above the new model is definitely more car-like but has lost some of the original's charm. The new car is almost twice as long (7 versus 13 studs long). Another good angle. I do like the new car but I have several 6506s which will all look tiny against the new car when parked outside my cop shop. I think I will have to set it up so that the old one's are standard police cars and the new one will be my pursuit car - Even though the official names are actually the other way round. While I am a very big fan of the classic police uniforms the new uniform in this shot looks an awful lot smarter. I think the new chap will have a very rapid promotion to chief in my force... I also really like this new style standard minifig head. Only a slight adjustment to the eyes but it looks really good. Cheers Rog
  19. Latest acquisitions: This is 7236 Police Car, 7902 Doctor's Car and 7731 Mail Van. Got them all in Carrefour in Calais. 15 euros for all three. Cheers Rog
  20. First of all, another great review! Thanks for doing these! As for the wheels, these were primarily Technic wheels but did find their way into some other models. In white, I can only find a handful of minifig sets that they are included with. There's half a dozen space sets but, apart from the 4-Wheelin Truck, the only other Town set appears to be the 6524 Blizzard Blazer (tractor with snow plough). The wheels were also in a Train set called 4549 Road & Rail Hauler where they were the wheels on a big forklift. Cheers Rog
  21. A few years back, a family member bought me a MegaBloks aircraft set which came with a nifty brick separator tool (I guess it was included to compensate for the poor fitting of MegaBloks pieces). Anyway, the set itself was quickly donated to a young nephew of mine but I hung onto the separator tool. It works really well with Lego and has a couple of pointy bits that work well with tiles. Cheers Rog
  22. I would argue that R2D2's not a minifig... (he says ducking as he's sure there's some opinion about this!) Cheers Rog
  23. There are so many great one's to choose from it's not easy but I do really like the Leia Hoth minifig: Cheers Rog
  24. Lost long ago unfortunately; most of my 1980s LEGO is very, very well played with and suffers from all the signs of age and use you would expect. Keep meaning to pick one up off Bricklink but never get round to it!! Cheers Rog
  25. I've been at it again!! This time it's 6692 & 7900: Enjoy!! Cheers Rog
