Then it would probably be ok, however I can't try as it is now taken apart. -

Yes, but it would hit the side of the bodywork as well. -

Yes, although bigger wheels would hit the mudguards -

Another case of plagiarism?
legomuppet9 replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Chuk, I have read the whole topic and I feel that you just have a personal grudge against Sariel and YOU are the one who is egoistic and has bad social skills. Anyway, back on topic, I think half the model is identical, the other half, is ever so slightly different, probably so then he could say it wasn't plagiarism. The fact that the contest judge said it was a copy says a lot. I use people mechanisms and ideas in my models all the time, however I credit the author where necessary and I do not copy whole models and then enter a competition with them. So Sariel, I am on your side here, it is a copy of your (by the way brilliant) model. -

I think digital format is the way to go. firstly it would be free, and would probably not require as much effort from TLG to make it. The downside is that you would have to own the pieces to make the model i reality, if soeone doesn't they could always build it in LDD. As for what they would let you build, why not one of the smaller sets for the upcoming year? would restrict the designers to only use existing pieces to creat the small model though....

Firstly you need to decide what type of off roading you want to do. Below are some links so you can build a serious off roader, a trial truck. A helpful website is this: http://www.bricktrucktrial.com/ Also, I often use YouTube for ideas, and zblj has made a helpful set of tutorials regarding everything you are asking about here: http://www.bricktrucktrial.com/spip.php?article203 And yes balloon tyres are better for traction. Hope this helps and good luck

Thanks again for all your comments and ideas. This is the result of my work: Fast Car by legomuppet9, on Flickr It uses an XL motor geared up 1:5 and has return to center steering. The result is fast and it is very fun to use. I decided to add a camera attachment to it: Fast car, with phone holder by legomuppet9, on Flickr This means I now get an on board view unfortunately it does slow it down a lot but that's all part of the fun

I've been building all afternoon and straight line speed is good however, it loses most of its momentum in the when steering. At the moment I am using mahjqa's basic power functions steering module. Does anyone know of a steering set up that means the model doesn't lose speed? I was thinking maybe only having one wheel at the front will improve the steering, am I right? If so, does anyone know of a neat steering system for one wheel? PLEASE NOTE: I do not have a differential. Thanks in advance.

I think that the first one is the best and looks very intriguing, do u think that it is possible to make a smaller version of this?
