"Because, sweetie, the expiring of his soul is different than taking you out of commission for a while. These are my conditions."

"Alright, you boys stay here, I'll head over to mine entrance/storage. Hey, Zikey ol' boy, where exactly was that meeting we were just at?" -
"That's noble and all dear, but I won't kill you, I need you, and the most health you can give me is... 13, if I had to put a numeric value on it. I need a total of 50. You'll do, as a start, but I'm going to need more."

"I think that we should go exploring around the village first. Afterwards, we can start searching the trails. To the market first, and then we'll look at the rest of the village. "Oh, there I go talking and walking at the same time again. I'm afraid my feet work without telling my head, and my head just plain doesn't work at all. Well, I can't afford anything here, nor do I want anything, so whenever you two are done shopping, we ought to head over to the warehouse, to see what they've got over there. I love an old-fashion exploration of the village. The world's a stance place, who would have thought that they'd have all this in a cave?" -
Naw, I can check in a fair amount. Hosting takes a fair amount more effort and time, I can make quick decisions Quest-wise, never fear. The only day to really do majority rules is tomorrow, as I'll be traveling that day, but every other day i should be fine!"
-
Hey Questies! I'll be traveling over the next five days or so, which means that A) a picture or two may be missing, I'll go back in and add them once I return home and B) I may only be able to get on for short amounts of time each day. I'll try to check up daily, but the Quest may slow down just a tad for a day or two within those five days. By the 29th we should be right back to a quick paced Quest, sorry everyone, and again, it shouldn't be too terrible, just maybe a little slower than we've been going.

"I'd like to explore the village, but first attend the meeting, although if we can't explore after the meeting I'd like to explore first. What are the rules of wooing the chief's daughter, do you think?" -
The Party Skrall (played by WaterBrickDown) Level 11 Ranger (Party Leader) Power: 20 (+4 Against Beasts) Health: 16/16 Gold: 45 Inventory: Hunter's Crossbow (WP:9, +4 vs. Beasts), Potion (4), Remedy (1), Tonic (1), Smelling Salts (1), Smoke Bomb (1), Water Bomb (1), Ice Bomb (1), Holy Bomb (1), Skeleton Decoy (1), Phoenix Essence (1) Tesni Hightribe (played by Peppermint_M) Level 16 Berserker (Back-Up Party Leader) Power: 27 Health: 32/32 Gold: 112 Inventory: Cysgodion the Great Sword of Darkness (WP: 11, Darkness), Cryfder (WP:6), Mockthril Shield (SP:5) 2 Phoenix Essence, 4 Potions, 3 Mead, 3 Venom, 2 Nostrum Haldor Skovgaard (played by Scorpiox) Level 12 ½ Cleric Power: 24 (23+1) Health: 20/20 Ether: 18/19 (16+3) Gold: 0 Inventory: Heavy Metal Rod (WP:11), Lesser Ethereal Cloak (SP:1, +3 Ether), Paper Doll (Hexed immunity), Frying Pan (WP:1+1 health, unequipped), Spike Coller (+1 power), Shovel, Pickaxe, Potion, Remedy, Venom and a fur-lined bedroll, Tonic, Phoenix Essence Dyric Rone (played by Legonator) Level 7 Rogue Power: 12 Health: 13/13 Gold: 225 Inventory: Double Chain Whip (WP: 5), Throwing Knife (WP: 3), Longsword (WP: 3), Venom, Smelling Salts, Pre-Rolled Loaded Die, Potion, Grating Stone Hans (Host controlled NPC) Level 10 1/2 Wren Fighter Power: 16 Health: 40/40 Gold: 0 Inventory: Sword (WP: 6), Potion x2 NOTE: Shield – Fury, does five damage to first five opponents Sir Earl Poletad (NPC) Level 2 Frog Paladin Power: 2 Health: 6/6 Ether: 2/2 Gold: 0 Inventory: None NOTE: Shield – Croak, uses 1 ether to heal all Party Members by his level. If no ether, than he regains 1 ether. The heroes depart, wishing their friends good luck and safety. The heroes continue on the road, following Hans, who puzzles over a map. Suddenly a happy voice calls out to them, ahead of them on the path. "Lost, heroes?" The party draw their weapons and prepare for combat, but Wren stops them, shooting six black orbs out to envelope all their weapons, and Sir Poletad entirely, who hangs, suspended in mid-air. "I did not come to fight, heroes. I came to offer you a bargain, as I always do. Isn't it interesting that you always draw weapons and I always come in peace, and yet you paint me as the villain here? I am prepared to help you get to the jail, but you must do more a favor in return. The ether that is required to teleport all six of you to the jail is immense, and I do not want to be tired, as I am going to war soon! So, and this is fair, you will have to pay me back for it. The heroes of Heroica must offer up a total of 50 health and ether, combined for my magic to work. Alternatively, I could drain the life from your frog friend over-here, and use his life force for the magic. It would kill him, but what do you care? Do you know that Master Docken killd a defenseless Orc in the Arena? That Jess sold out Hybros to save her own neck? Betrayal between heroes isn't uncommon, and Mr. Poletad isn't particularly friendly with you all anyway. You've only known him, what, two days? So, what will it be heroes?"

"Sorry, the seas were just getting to me. I believe everything is in order for us to land." -
I'm with JimBee on this one. I followed Quest 13 quite closely, more closely than I do other quests (all of which I at the very least skim), because quite frankly I thought that somehow it was going to relate back to Zoot, and I felt I should pay attention to all Quests relating to Zoot. I'm glad I followed it, I was very impressed with it! The story was solid, and the character of Sorrow was cool. I do have a question or two, and one note. Note: Maybe I missed it, but I would be interested in knowing what happened to the man that Sorrow was torturing in the beginning. Secondly, how exactly was the puzzle on the door solved? Were there clues I missed, or was Sarrick just smarter than I am? Finally... well, how did you convince Subacarrot to allow you to kidnap his character?!

"Skrall, look, we rebels may not love each other, but we are aware of each other's dealings and actions. I am aware of the force you took out at Vonnetate's request. As for the other rebel's hatred of me... well, I can't understand it either. Vonnetate doesn't seem to like anyone, and I disagree with many of his... personal views. As for Samuel and Haddock... they don't get along well with anyone, but they're luckily so preoccupied hating each other that they don't give me much heed." "Gregor is being held in a tower in the mountains. I will give Hans directions. It is the Town Watch's, but like all things related to war, they keep it outside the center of town so as not to alarm the citizens. The factories are up here, so are the jails. I do not believe that Gregor is too heavily guarded, but a big force will no doubt draw attention, which is why I'm sending you. As for calling for assistance... no, you will be too far away. I may, if there is a crunch, be able to get word to Vonnetate or Samuel, but I do not know how quickly they could respond." "What will it be, Skrall? Let's make a choice and get a move on."

This is adorable. Simple, but that's good because it gives it the right feel. The ears are a little long, that would be my only note, and the tail is a little big. I love the legs, they are perfect!

If no ether, than he regains 1 ether. The heroes again trek through the mountains, and this time they arrive in a smaller valley, a plateau, rather, in the mountains. The snowy field is humming with activity as troops rush to and fro. Hans makes his way through, and a few troops call out a greeting to him, and a few more salute. Hans seems at ease, much different from when they met with Vonnetate. They finally arrive at what appears to be the leader's table. "Greetings, travelers. My name is Fredrick Reich, and I am in charge of this group of rebels. I'm afraid we're not very popular with the other rebels.... Vonnetate scares me a little, to be honest, but we're a strong force, and since we agree with the cause, we will assist you. Now, I do have a minor mission for you, nothing like massacring a caravan, but something little. My Right-Hand Man, Gregor Ichor was recently captured in a raid. I have located where he is, and need you to go save him. Likewise, I have reason to believe that there is a large military force in the area. I would like two of you to remain here to protect me. Please, I am afraid, I do not know who the force belongs to. It could be a fellow rebel force, but even that wouldn't be terribly comforting, who knows what those Pongcanae will get up to? Please decide who will go save Gregor and who will remain here with me, I can give you fifty troops, by the way, I am willing to throw everything into the cause. Vonnetate needed proof of your worth, I do not."

OOC: Upgraded my shield right before we left. Likewise, on the days surrounding Christmas, I may not be GREAT at checking in, but I should do decently! Boomingham smiles as he stands at the edge of the ship. "I hate sea travel," he mutters, as it becomes more apparent that his smile is forced. He turns to Heinike. "Where is your village exactly? The High Kingdoms, or elsewhere?" -
Boomingham rushes into the marketplace quickly. "Before we go, I'd like to upgrade my shield from SP: 4 to SP: 5 for 50 gold." Boomingham hands over his gold as his shield is resmithed, and then leaves, huffing, puffing, and ready to quest.

Day 4 - Visit Factories with Felton (2 Left), Visit Rebels with Hans (2 Left) SIR POLETAD - He may be used, in some circumstances, to sneak ahead, due to his small size, and see the strength/number of certain enemies. You may take him on 3 of the remaining 4 days, use him wisely.

"Of course I will help you, do you think my people have no sense of honor?! I will give you the Gift of the Dragon. I believe I have enough fire in me to gift it to people in your party a total of four times. It will make anyone in the party both lucky and blessed. And luckily, it takes no time, as my race is quick. Of course, since this Knight bought me, he will be the one to decide when I use it." <The Gift of the Dragon makes the hero lucky (2 rolls) and blessed (at the end of each round, there is a 50% chance of being healed). Furthermore, as Vipera Callidus is using it, the heroes need not use up a turn when using it, and it may be activited at any point. Like Vipera said, Hoke gets to pick when it is used.>

"Greetings, Mlle. Bugslayer! Thank you for the drinks, they're lovely! I'm glad that I got to see you before I departed once more, I have two things I'd be... remiss, if I didn't get to tell you before I depart. The first is that I could use twenty gold, if you have it. The same goes to Barur and Sylph, since you aren't heading out right away... maybe you could loan me some before Marvelo and I depart? The second is a message. Tell anyone that I know, Eric, Tesni, Jess, Hybros, whoever, when they drop back into the hall, that I am missing them. I haven't seen them in ages, and now I'm afraid I'll miss them again. Oh, and thirdly, it really was a pleasure questing with you. Oops, that's three, I never was too good at counting! Once I told my men we only had to face twenty orcs in the morning... I meant two hundred... bar keep, another round for the thirty four of us!"
-
"My name is different in the Dragon Tongue, but in your tongue I am called Vipera Callidus the Young. I come from the land of Dastan. I miss it terribly. Please allow me to return there. We dragons must be together, I hear of grave things in the world, and I must be home. We dragons can sense evil in the energy pools... much like the ether that you humanoids use, we are connected to the spiritual world. I can feel it here, but this is not the type of evil I must fight right now. Across the seas, in my home, there is a worse evil, and I must go there."
-
The Baby Dragon turns to Skrall. "Please tell your knightly friend thank you! I am from a far off land... it's been here for too long. Will you ask him to free me? I want to go home to my mother. Pleeeease. I am only four hundred years old, I shouldn't be away from home." Hell, I'm going back and forth. I remember really loving the last game, and I also remember being killed off for... 10th grade. Seems so strangely long ago. I don't know how I feel picking back up a game from a year and a half ago... but what the hell, I like role playing, I like Hincks as a host, and you know, I'm bored, so I'm in. Unless dead players have to stay dead.
-
"Do you know nothing about haggling... Mr... Mr... mister?" The vendor gives Felton a strange look. "Well, I can't recall your name currently, but if you're going to haggle, start with a low offer and then work your way up." Luckily Hoke's natural charm helps. "I'm having a clearance sale, numb-brain, I can't buy more merchandise. I will, however, lower the price of the dragon to 175, but that's as low as I'm willing to go."
-
The Baby Dragon is a surprise! And yes, the Orb is a one time use, or else the game would be rather... over.
