Sir Earl Poletad joins the party! Sir Earl Poletad (Host Controlled NPC) Level 1 Frog Paladin Power: 1 Health: 5/5 Ether: 1/1 Gold: 0 Inventory: None NOTE: Shield – Croak, uses 1 ether to heal all Party Members by his level. If no ether, than he regains 1 ether. The area does not seem to have any traps. Skrall walks up to the crystal ball. Inside it floats a tiny fire storm with thunder cackling and waves smashing against the sides. Purple smoke swirls and a faint crying out of "help" can be heard. A sign above the Crystal Ball reads "Fate's Orb Workstation". Suddenly, the heroes hear Felton cry out. "Heroes! Come quickly to the break room! Help me! Gods help me!"

Tell you what. You will be running into Wren at least once this Quest (spoiler!) so why don't you save that question for Skrall to ask her! Don't worry, she's got an answer. Quick Poll: Would it be safe to assume Dyric would pick up a potion and just move the Quest along? I'm going to in like 5...
-
All fair. I love that he hates her, I just wanted to know why, as they have personally never crossed paths. I like Wren, and since Boomingham has been locked away on Quest 8 for so long, she seems the most popular of all my characters. I also like that people seem to think that they know her deal, as I have purposly revealed very little about her. All we know is that she failed Quests, worships Zoot, and messes with the heroes, no one has really been told her deal, and all things considered, she hasn't really been "on screen" all that much.

Sandy has already indicated that Heroica will indeed come to an end at some point, with the story concluding, though I can't imagine it will come to that for a few years. I'm rather excited to see how it progresses! And of course, some side quests have sequels. Wren will appear a number of times, and the Lion Knights and Brobric Elves seem to have to do with an over-arcing story. Now, question time. WBD, does Skrall know Cronk well? I'm getting a kick out of his impersonation, but have the two had a real conversation ever? If not, Skrall is doing a really spot on job. . Secondly, Tanma, why does Dek'ra seem to hate Wren so much. I'm sure she would love him if she ever met him , so why does he bear so much hatred. Has he read up on Quest 7, did you ever say?

<Cronk?! Help me Cronk! They're going to fry me!!!! They need my juices. That potion you got there, my cousin Freddie's juices were used in that one!! Help me Cronk! My name is Earl! Earl Poletad! Sir Earl Poletad! And who is Felton? I have been in this factory for many weeks, and I have never seen any of you before! I usually only see the workers, occasionally a human with orange hair and orange stash comes along and talks to guards outside and inspects insides! Do you want to fry me as well?! Please don't fry me >

Just making a little commentary on Character Development. Don't take this a mean way folks, but character development should take place over a spread of time. I feel like characters change so quickly sometimes . Everyone just changes so quickly (I like this person, never mind OR I'm happy go lucky, never mind I'm really cynical and jaded all of a sudden). Or your back story bubbles forward on the first quest. Sure, that's fun, but if we play this game for a while, your character will have no more back story to reveal and they'll be flip-flopping so much as to who they are it won't really read to the others and you'll just have a watery character. Things can change for characters, but maybe justify them better, or make it happen slower? Look at Tesni. This is her THIRD quest with her sword and things are finally really starting to poke through, and she's really starting to change. The time it took her to change is plausible. Same with Dek'ra or Hybros, we saw a glimpse into their pasts, who they are, and that's affecting their actions, but clearly there's more to see and more to learn and the changes are huge, but they're there. Boomingham has a back story, yes, he does, but nothing would make him say it all of a sudden out of the blue, I'm waiting. Sorry, I'm not trying to ruin anyone's fun or step on anyone's feet, I'm just critiquing from a story tellers point of view. Yup, Zepher the old wet rag to kill the fun. sorry guys, just wanted to say it, take it as it is, don't be offended, and consider it if you feel like it!

Or he's Nemo's twin, and Sandy just rolled them into one in the image.

Sandy your figures are without fail beautiful!

"Very well, Guts Holla the Heavy One, Cronk the Ogre, Cromwell Battlesword the Lordless Lord, Rone the Pompous A-Hole, Lara Croft the friend of Guts, and Cariad Middlehigh the Ex-Protector," the guard mumbles as he scribbles in his book. "Alright, looks like everything is set. You're free to go in. The workers are on brea right now, but if you run into anyone, tell 'em that I sent you in." "Do not flatter yourself Skrall, you may be good but no one can hold a candle to my Cronk. " The heroes walk by the guards and enter into the factory. The smells of chemicals and fire hit their noses immediately. Clearly alchemy is practiced here. The heroes begin to look around. <I'm sorry, this is one of my worst builds, I threw it together very quickly... > The shelves are lined with goods. The heroes may take some. Each hero may take one of these two options: Potion OR Tonic The heroes also find three Phoenix Essences to split between the party. Phoenix Essence (3) "I'm going to go check up on the workers in the break room, I'll return quickly. Look around while I'm gone." Felton slinks off.
-
"Mercenaries, huh... alright. Let me hear a little about you. Where were you hired? What are your jobs? What are your names? I will take it down in the my records, so the other guards may take note of you. I don't mind letting you in to do a factory check, but we can't just go letting everyone in. You know. Those rebels are tricky. The rumors are flying... apparently they have some witch who can make doubles of the same person? And there are a group of Pogacanis... brutes all of them. I just need to make sure you're here with good intentions, so speak up! Names, skills, etc."
-
"Did someone say Chaos?!"
-
"Well that was a quick turn around, darling," Wren whispers in (ONLY) Jess' ear. "Dropping men like flies, aren't you? See if you can get through Skrall, Hans, Dyric, Felton, and Hoke before you leave too, okay? That should really break Haldor's heart. Oh, and don't worry, I won't mention your doubts to him... maybe." "I hope that more than Felton would be heart broken to see me go. I'd like to know that you have my back." "I believe he was joking, Hans. He knows that no one would be sad to see you go." "I liked you better when you were didn't think you were funny..." "When did I think that?" The two realize that their banter isn't particularly helpful to the party, who stands waiting. "Alright, let's hit the ol' dusty trail! I'll fill you in as we go." The party once more hikes through the mountains skirting the town. Felton talks as they go. "Wren is somewhere within the Castle where the Guard have a Head Quarters. Skulking there. Bah. What a wretched woman. But she's pompous, she'll show her face at some point I am sure." The party arrives at a factory. "I will go first. Hans has been meeting with the rebels, I've been getting to know the villagers. These guards should recognize me, I don't know if they'll let you in though! If things get ugly, I am prepared to fight with you." Felton steps forward towards the guards, the party following him. "Greetings!" yells Felton. The guards look up and salute. "Greetings, Felton," answers the more severe looking guard. "Doing a run in your civilian clothes? Good, the rebels won't pay you as much heed that way. Did you hear that they attacked a caravan train yesterday? Killed twenty-three good men, a number more are in intensive care! They... they anger me. Who are these other folks with you?" "Make up a story, something. The guards are more honorable than the Rebels make them out to be. If you think of something good, we may not have to fight them..." What will the party do?
-
OOC: Want to put damage calculations up for us to see, just so we can follow? If Nyx used darkness, it does double damage, did you calculate that? "Nyx, you never cease to amaze me. Barur, perhaps drink your tonic this round at a safe distance, so you aren't attacked? Mr. Marvelo, attack the General from the back row, no matter what he does, he will not be able to knock you out this round, and if you get hurt, we'll heal you next round. Sylph, we need your strength, focus on the Guard, and I'll once more attack the General from the front row. We're so close to getting to go home! I can taste the booze already. "

Quick observer critique: Story was awesome. Nice job hosts. I would never put actions with roles, it's too obvious. It would be like a classical game is the "town doctor" had the doctor role. How could he get out from that? That's my only host complaint, other than that, great pace, great presentation, nice story, the side missions seem cool! Players: def and Kiel dominated. def, I think you know why you can tick people off sometimes, you're a little.... blunt, and when you pick a target, you don't let them go. Doesn't mean you're not one of the most awesome players ever, but I feel like you could do it in a less brutal way sometimes. That being said, you were pretty awesome this game, and hit an agent... every day? Just don't get so irritated at people. Sure, people freak sometimes, but we all do, maybe be more forgiving? I understand your frustration is people don't pay attention, they're not pulling their own weight, and I get that, when you are as good of a player as you are and others aren't pulling their weight, it makes the game less fun for you! Kiel, basic same notes to you, you got your points across, did a great job, and seemed to be pretty nice to everyone, so 's to you two. Scum.... you pretty much were screwed from Day 1. Don't know why, but it may be do to a lack of effort. Not all of you went down easy, however. Brickdoctor, nice job staying alive for so long. Over-all nice game. I liked almost everyone's role playing. I have to say the part that confused me most about this game was the big issue over "swearing on the bible" and how huffy everyone got about "religion" being dragged into the game... it's a saying, relates to the US Court system, and everyone seemed to look at it like it was the worst thing someone could do or say...

"Fantastic. Yes, we will be needing to force entry into the factories, unless you folks are clever enough to work around it. Luckily, the rebel groups are drawing a lot of attention, and small skirmishes are always going on. The guard numbers aren't too scarily high! Don't worry, we'll do fine. I have a few tricks of my own to get us in as well. Tell me when you are ready to go, I will happily answer any more questions you've got!" Hans rises from his sleep, looking refreshed. "Don't insult them with questions and answers. They've proven themselves as fighters, let them go fight." "Oh be quiet, you. Anything else you wish to know, or should we set out?"
-
"Very well, Barur, you're with me, we'll attack the General together."

<Skrall gave you one before the battle.>

<Sorry, the wait is my fault. I saw five people on the action list, and only saw four actions listed. This is unfairly cool. I love the tower in the middle, the maze is inventive and cool, and while the build for the maze uses relatively simple build techniques, the placement of the crumble and the foliage make it really incredible. The little scenes are also all fun and well thought out. Congrats on a really fun and impressive build!
-
I gotta compliment you WBD, even for just the first battle. Your battle orders are always well thought out and your plans are sound. We'd probably all have an easier time if everyone played like you, you use your party/items well. Skrall is a new favorite character. It's too bad that some of my favorite characters are the ones that Boomingham is prejudice against...
-
And there's too much OOC in the Heroica Hall Topic. A personal Pet Peeve of mine. We have a discussion thread for a reason!
-
That's what I'd assume, but I think the question has been asked before, so I want to make sure I'm being consistent.
